it can never be done by thieves and if you think we are doing anything look at where the funding is coming from and you get the picture... kenyans get things done so bad and we are over priced and our leaders sell us back into slavery.
Konza is currently being built. Why are Kenyans so negative? Definable corruption is a menace but there’s no country in its industrialization phase that didn’t face freefall corruption and bad governance, none. Take China as an example or Singapore or South Korea. Lakini pia tunaelewa masomo kidogo ilitushinda sasa tutajuaje. Kazi ni makelele tu na negativity na kura zikifika ni wale wale wabaya wanaopiga kura wanarudisha. Smh.

@@abdoabood5550 facilities such as sewage, rods, canals, water treatment, drainage etc have to be completed first before the buildings go up. It's the norm of planned cities.
True.That city means nothing but a cash cow for those in power.They are more concerned on how they will subdivide the land among themselves and develop the same.The railway city land would have been of help if it is designed to incorporate modern transport center where all public transport can be integrated that is from railway,trams, BRT among others instead of distributing the bus stages in Nairobi creating unnecessary stops and picks.

Read about the Mandates of Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) when Uhuru Kenyatta formed it. Railway city is one of them

It actually started way back in 2000's when the current US president Donald Trump declared his interest in developing the railway golf city. Then the project was shelved until recently.

As a village girl I see these things in movies, I just hope they become reality some day.
The problem is the implementation stage. We have heard about many cities advertised to be built in and out of Nirobi but they die even before starting. The only city taking shape is Tatuu ,and it was born out of countless court battles.This can become a reality, but first and foremost is changing the third world countries way of doing things.

I am raking my head with directions to see which empty piece of land is available for such development and all I can see is Nairobi National Park. Where is this station going to be located? Coz it seems it will be on the side of Mombasa Road.... Ama ni mimi ninachanganyikiwa...

Retirees of Kenya Railways rarely get their pension. This is a pipe dream of helping people. It's a plan to benefit a few contractors and business people. We hope public participation is done on this public company so that we can modify everything.
So how do you know this is a pipe dream? How do you know it is meant to benefit a few people? Can you support your arguments with project specific evidence? What would you rather is done, not done or done differently? I feel it has come to a time in the life of this country we have to ask each other these kind of questions. Otherwise we will forever be a country of sad, bitter negative people.
@@kevmwenda4044 this project didn't start yesterday. It's been in the plans since the 80's. Check the history. Kenya railways cbd land has been targeted numerous times. It's a pipe dream coz I used to believe in it in the 80's, 90's, 00's till I opened my eyes and saw how this capitalist system works. Let's wait 10 more years. It will still be in the plans.

Its not so clear where they are doing this, when they planned SGR, we had more info, like where rail is passing, it was more detailed. here they mention a few roads, links, and some buildings, what about the rest of the existing buildings, are they all coming down?
