    its kind of ironic that ottoman empire's last territory it had before collapsing was constantinople, just like byzantine

    • @ogunkovan
      @ogunkovan 6 лет назад +53

      because the constantinople's warscore was over than 100% like 200%. so that means you need to declare two different wars before full annexing them. dowing one of allies of ottoman empire doesn't count and also ottomans had no ally at that time.

      Islam is a backwards religion. It only worked during war, during peace and progress it failed horribly. Its a shitty unreformed medieval religion.

    • @giancarlog89
      @giancarlog89 6 лет назад +51

      GrieferDenisStudios OMG so much crap glued with stool.
      1. If we are going to talk about massacres, more than 40 millions of humans were eradicated from the face of earth and from cultural perspective with a christian-driven invasion of America. Both hispanic and anglo saxon invasion... Paired with a huge commerce on slavery of black people who were brutally conquered in Africa. So in this regard, you must shut up. Neither one is better. Or would you accept by your logic, that since islamic countries killed less people, Islam is better?
      2. How the fuck a "defensive war" becomes an all out invasion of another continent driven by insane cavaliers and berserkers who destroyed everything in their path, even sacked orthodox Constantinople? Defensive my ass, Crusades had their origin in an attempt to unify christians who couldn't stop killing each other for almost three centuries in medieval europe. CHRISTIANITY REFORMED THEIR BELIEFES: Original belief was that christianity was a religion of love and that war in the name of God wasn't permitted, but the Pope changed it so that it was OK and necessary that Christians had to wage war for christianity, this was considered a betrayal by many christians, a long forgotten, of course by ignorants like you
      3. Islam was a very tolerant religion, even recognizing Jesus as a prophet, or living in syncretism with sufis, or many other religions during their peak. Islamic nations were and are as brutal as christian
      nations, I mentioned this in another post too. But to think there's a fatal flaw in their core and essence that's just plain ignorance. Do you really think christianity has made more reforms and changes in their core than Islam? Oh my god, to be honest I could fucking feed you a whole cow of fucking knowledge so that you wouldn't reproduce your fucking ignorance.
      4. Roman empire was, I guess, a beacon of humanity too right? We could talk of the greatness of my favorite empire in history, but to think the roman empire deserved a higher office just because they were westerners like me or you? Oh fucking ignorant, goddammit. Empires rise and fall and this doesn't have to do with religion, all empires, even the American empire, believer of God and "the God bless you all" kills every year more than thousands of humans, oh what a fucking christian enlightement they are bringing right? Great christian reform!
      Go fucking read a book, stop eating all the retardness you read in cheap websites and biased forums. I come from catholic family, and I know what it's worth, but also all the crap people talk because they are stupid and think their religion is the best.
      Keep giving likes to yourself, fucking clown. Be coherent, your arguments are trash, of course, as expected.

    • @giancarlog89
      @giancarlog89 6 лет назад +25

      Cosmic Dust since terrorism is a very recent and unclear concept, i guess your argurment is right.
      Well, as you've noticed my english is not native. Trying to comeback with a small gramatical error doesnt change anything. it's very well detailed that Muslim nations during medieval age were more advanced in infrastructure, including banking nets, while in europe they were casting aside the jewish people who probably introduced them to the continent. So pretty much the eurocentric views taught everyone anyone different was a lesser culture, since when they were barbaric and behaved as "terrorists" in the past, conquered the world while obviously raping, torturing, sacking, stealing, killing, and in many cases... in the name of God!

    • @steveperez178
      @steveperez178 6 лет назад +2

      I'd genuinely like to ask how someone could possibly view the Ottomans/Turks as tolerant? Don't take this the wrong way, but is it just ignorance on your part?

    • @starkmandalore6570
      @starkmandalore6570 6 лет назад +9

      At their height they were probably one of the worlds more tolerant nations at the time. While the Spaniards were deporting or forcibly converting Muslims and Jews and the rest of Europe fighting over what version of Christianity is the best (not to mention the crap they pulled in the Americas), the ottomans controlled a territory the SIZE of Europe and didn't mass deport or forcibly convert their people. While they might not have been tolerant by today's standards, they were better than the christian nations of their time.

      Jane Doe The Ottomans had great trade relations with Venice, allowing both to be extremely wealthy. The Ottomans may have only held half the land the Romans did, but that land was much more valuable. The relationship between both Venice and the Ottomans indirectly caused the renaissance and American Exploration. The Ottomans became one of the longest lasting empires and held great architecture making them very different than the Mongols.

    Regarding pre-1453 every version that I've seen gets Constantinople's territories in Thrace wrong. For example Mesembria/Nesebar in today Bulgaria and all coastal area to the south was still in byzantine hands. None of the Aegean islands was Ottoman either. Kastamonu emirate was vasal but not Ottoman. I think south-central anatolia borders might need some adjustment too. Please try to correct those if you ever plan on making an update. There's a few minor inaccuracies from other periods but mostly good!

    Lol @ all the butthurt people hating on the Ottoman empire
    Truth is: Ottoman empire was one of the most extraordinary and powerful empire in the history of humankind, comparable to those of the Roman empire both in scale, time and impact, and although in its downfall there were some very critisizable times such as 1915 events, it is nothing compared to what for example the Brits did when they were dominant pretty much everywhere on earth.
    Haters gonna hate.. xD

      ***** "It's directy because of ther Ottomans that countries like greece are so poor and backward compared to Western europe."
      Lol you seem to have missed the memo of greece's economy collapsing every 100 years since they became independant.. xD
      "Also when did the brits do anything like kill millions or armenians?"
      Huh, you know history bro? There are fewer countries on earth that haven't been attacked or invaded by britain than have been. Just to name a few, India and China during opium wars? Boer massacres and concentration camps? Colonial wars in Central Africa? xD Wow, you fail at history bro.. xD

    • @TimmacTR
      @TimmacTR 8 лет назад +17

      ***** Idiot, I just said Boer massacres can you read? xD
      British massacres aronud the world far outweight all the massacres Ottoman empire could have ever committed by far.
      "Also LOL at thumbing up your own comment! Says it all really!"
      Yeah, sorry I forgot that liking your own comment is a sure sign that what you say is clearly wrong lol! xD And besides, I really like what I say you know.. xD

    • @TimmacTR
      @TimmacTR 8 лет назад +16

      ***** So, 100'000's in concentration camps is not "genocide"? What about the partition of India and Pakistan under Brit rule, which led to millions of deportation and at least a million death? They don't count? xD
      Lol..
      And no, thumbing up a comment isn't influencing if an argument used is correct or not you fucking idiot.. xD What you are doing is sophistical rhetoric, fitting of a real troll that you are! xD

    • @TimmacTR
      @TimmacTR 8 лет назад +16

      ***** "Name me all those Ottoman contribitions to Science, Maths, Astronomy, Philosophy and Archetecture again? Also killing Armenians isn't an achievement!"
      I would name but you probably have no clue about them because of your western centric worldview. Many scientists, scholars and travellers were Ottoman, but you wouldn't even know the most famous among them because they're not in your british emperial school textbooks lol.
      The truth is that in the 14th to 15th century the muslim world was more advanced than europe in terms of science, astronomy and technology.
      Even then, I don't see it justifying hundreds of years of war, colonialism and massacres committed by the british empire who were under no threat while doing it. Nothing can justify this.
      "but that is Turkish maths for you!"
      Lol, where are you from? Because I need to know which idiotic nation can breed this kind of logic into its brainwashed citizens.. xD

    • @TimmacTR
      @TimmacTR 8 лет назад +13

      ***** "Oh I'm from a nation that can wipe that shithole Turkey off the face off the Earth with a touch of a button!"
      Yeah? It must be a nation of very brave people who cannot say where they are from by fear of giving away their origin lol.
      And I doubt anyone can "wipe out" Turkey with the touch of a button. I remember 1915, not for armenian deportation but for last time the empire of westerners tried to invade Turkey and failed miserably. Oh, I thought you said the brits were so advanced? They couldn't even invade Turkey which was so "backwards" as you say? I wonder why? Probably because it wasn't as advanced as you idiot think it was lol.. xD
      And if you want a genocide that can be directly attributed to the brits it is soo easy to find: simply look at ireland, which is fucking just next to britain! For how many centuries irish were massacred and segregated by the brits? How many famines were caused? How many invasions? How many deportations?
      Can't respond huh? xD Idiot, take your wipeout button and use it on your own city please you terrorist..

    "The Ottamans set such a good example as pacific conquerors that they won the confidence of many former Byzantine subjects . For example , when Nicaea fell , Orhan allowed all who wanted to leave the city to depart freely , taking with them their holy relics , but few availed themselves of the chance . No reprisals were taken against those who had resisted , and the city was left to manage its internal affairs under its own municipal government . BOOK : Encyclopaedia of the Ottoman Empire .
