Just imagine what our ancestors reaction could be if they knew that in 21st century most Russians are flying to Turkey on vacations.
In Turkey, you always hear the phrase "Russia declared war on Ottomans because they wanted to acces those warm waters." in History classes.
The problem with Turkey was that a huge portion of its population was Orthodox (some of them were also Slavs) who were more loyal to Russia than Turkey.
