Cameron: I would have kept my 7 card hand but then have no plays till turn 3. Alex: its fine, this is a slow format * second game puts cameron to 8 life on turn 3*
James’s and Cam’s match was a joy to watch. They have such complimenting dry humor but you can tell they’re both just here to have fun and not be an actual butt to anyone.
I'll be that guy and say Alex missed lethal in his first game with Cam. All Alex had to do was sacrifice his board during that attack to Phyrexian Ghoul and direct the 2 damage from Perilous Myr to Cam's face. Still love watching these streams, they're what got me into Highlander :D.
Anyone else thinks Pauper Highlander is the best of both worlds? I absolutely love Pauper because it makes so many awesome old cards shine, and also no need for a banlist because you're just using 1 of each card.
We started playing singleton back in the day starting around 95-96. It wasn't easy to find multiple copies of cards due to lack of internet/stores etc and most of the time when you had a good card you only had one of them. We used to build 60 card singleton decks all the time . Not a new format really. But glad to see pauper making a splash. It's my fav format.
In the last game of the last set the recover card would have been exiled. If you don't pay it on the first one it exiles itself, and a creature was put in before that off of the bone splinters. Minor thing.
Would it be possible for the deck lists to be posted here? Wasn't lucky enough to catch the live stream and these seem like some super fun decks to pilot
yes, once blocks are declared the blocked creature remains blocked. Even if the blocking creature dies or gets exiled or whatever. If the blocked creature had trample, it would assign damange, but in this case it hasn't. James could have cast Humble before going to the declare blockers step, then Ben could still have blocked a goblin but not a bird.
There's a similar logic as to how you can cheat Master of Cruelties or Wall of Blood into attacking in an Alesha EDH deck. Alesha's reanimation ability triggers after the point where Defender or "Can only attack alone" is relevant."
I run the magic stuff in the store i work in. The humorous question i get from my younger players is when they ask about whether a card is banned in "60 card". I ask for specific 60 card format and they respond "Casual I guess?" Other assorted rules questions involving multiplayer games that involve decks of different formats in the same game because that's what the kids brought today. The joys of casual judging (ish). (Also not a judge) Making sure to high five whichever one is playing control.
a little slow on the grim harvest trigger in the last game Bone splinters sac creature, ignores trigger diabolic edict, sacs another creature now remembers trigger
Can you order your library with infinite scry 1 triggers? I thought you could just cycle through it and decide where to stop. I know you can order your library with infinite scry 2 triggers, but scries higher than 1 are almost never repeatable.
CrimsonKingdom Pauper is far from solved. There’s a new top deck basically every week or two. As long as the format keeps being played, new decks will arise. It’s more diverse than Modern or Legacy, in my opinion.
Zero people will see this, but: Just let people mull to 4, it's fine to have small hands "on tv". However, the main point I wanted to put into the universe, this indeed confirms that the London Mulligan is better overall for Magic.
@@Nicklas_Danielsson Each time you mulligan you draw 7, then you choose and bottom a number of cards from your hand equal to the number of mulligans you've taken. So you always choose from a full 7, even if you don't keep them all.
Play Pauper Commander, 99 Singleton + 1 Uncommon Commander. My friends and I play some silly themed decks. Personally I play Zombie Tribal and Zendikar Incarnate with Landfall shennanigans
"I hate how the soldiers aren't humans"
*Flashbacks to Jeskai Winnota*
It's almost as if they preempted a card that cared about non-humans
Cameron: I would have kept my 7 card hand but then have no plays till turn 3.
Alex: its fine, this is a slow format
* second game puts cameron to 8 life on turn 3*
Not unusual for a magic player to say something so wrong so confidently!
only messing around - good stuff
) a no⁶⁶
I love how Cameron talks quietly to himself and nobody seems to notice unless you look for it. It’s so funny
Cameron seemed to forget that his Ramirez deck won during the Commander Stream
Holy mother of all formats!! Pauper Highlander?!? Yes!
Not as good as Cant Lander~
Should I even ask?
Beej did a thing, you really should not.
Cam cursing so eloquently gives me life
Just came back to this, are there plans to do this again in the near future? I'd love to see more pauperlander
For me, this will forever be Camlander. P:
that zelda tune combined with the smirk of the goblin on the card had me laughing for a solid minute :,D
Love this show keep it up with the quality

The lands can’t hear you until you apologize to remirez who also cant hear you until you apologize
that humble play was the best thing I've seen
I want more Budget highlander, from walmart!
Powerful Magic.
Anyone else thinks Pauper Highlander is the best of both worlds?
I absolutely love Pauper because it makes so many awesome old cards shine, and also no need for a banlist because you're just using 1 of each card.
I don't understand how you shuffle 100 cards so easily.
Alex : oh, well let me show you.
... what?

were do i get the deck lists?
This is great. Please do it again sometime. Also Ben is a treasure we don't deserve
James, the Pegasus can’t block alone
In the last game of the last set the recover card would have been exiled. If you don't pay it on the first one it exiles itself, and a creature was put in before that off of the bone splinters. Minor thing.
I love this format and all of you guys. What about prancy pants though? (Only rares)
sandmanlives3 I GET IT
Would it be possible for the deck lists to be posted here? Wasn't lucky enough to catch the live stream and these seem like some super fun decks to pilot
This has all but cams deck: tappedout.net/mtg-deck-folders/pauper-highlander-1/
52:45 will always be my favorite moment
This is great stuff, more pauper highlander please.
Question at 53:00, flying is considered an ability, so does the block actually happen even though it's now an illegal block?
yes, once blocks are declared the blocked creature remains blocked. Even if the blocking creature dies or gets exiled or whatever.

Deck lists??
Would love to get those 😮

I'm probably missing something but can anyone clarify how James was able to cast triplicate at 1:20:05?
Convoke
Can you post the deck lists?
14:50 that crypt of the necrodancer music
I was so sad when I realized that I had already watched this :'(
Where are the deck lists?
I would love to see more of this!
Ben oublietting a bird token is my highlight of today.
Put that *bird* in the dungeon, I never want to see it again!
I've never played "Highlander" but it looks a lot of fun. I'm all about a pauper version of any format though
good sighting of It That Gets Left Hanging, there.
8:35
To skip mulligans.
What was the song they were singing 22:58
Super Mario Bros 2... theme? first level song? something like that
oh HECK yeah. I have been waiting for this one. S T O K E D
a little slow on the grim harvest trigger in the last game
Bone splinters sac creature, ignores trigger
diabolic edict, sacs another creature now remembers trigger
deck lists please
This is a fantastic format
Oh god, the second game. Turns out having three bears out on turn two is pretty strong!
just barely though
I've been looking for this ever since they mentioned this somewhere almost 2 months ago.
but if this is a magic stream, how will anyone ever hear about the sick Regigigas Skill Swap strats?
Was watching the screen while opening packs, ended up knifing two commons because I wasn't paying attention :/
Blocking is back on the menu. Except when it’s being served by enraged Dino’s

Some friends and I have thought about getting into pauper, but like Ben we all felt like it was a solved format, but Pauplander might be fun to try :)

The games between ben and james were awesome
Why isn't Alex playing goblins
Zero people will see this, but: Just let people mull to 4, it's fine to have small hands "on tv". However, the main point I wanted to put into the universe, this indeed confirms that the London Mulligan is better overall for Magic.

1:23:20 and that, my dear cameron, is why I play infect in commander
Love this format!
1:33:22 Cam, i got that reference! nice one, EATS PATATOCHIP!
My mana ALWAYS manages to collect in a small pile at the bottom of my deck.
And so marked the last time James ever played on stream...
Until yesterday
Hello from the future! Be safe, kids!
Missed lethal at 18:30!
Tank!
I guess I'm building Golgari Aristocrats in pauper
This is the best example of how insufficient deck shuffling will screw you. Poor Cam, trying to be fast for the viewers backfired hard.
"We'll be together for ever, right? FOREVER!" FUCK ALEX I AM IN PUBLIC YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO DO ME DIRTY LIKE THIS
please more pauperlander :)
The start of it all...
Pauperlander!!!
mort beatle is in my slimefoot pEDH deck ^^
19:59 lethal for Alex
PANGOLIN!
Play Pauper Commander, 99 Singleton + 1 Uncommon Commander. My friends and I play some silly themed decks. Personally I play Zombie Tribal and Zendikar Incarnate with Landfall shennanigans
I have died in death shadow mirror to street wraith and it is miserable
You should stream Pauper Commander
Why did you make fake bags of coke?
For a crapshot I believe.
Godo is great... also not a samurai^^
56:45 NO JAMES NOO
That was great
