Unfortunately, all of the tennis games are made by people who don't even watch tennis. The animations are always horrendous, running is clunky, speed of the ball is unrealistic, and so on. Top Spin 4 was in front of every single game that's out today. Only modded Tennis Elbow 2013 came close to mimicking realistic tennis games, but it had it's flaws which were huge, for an example volleys. Anyways, just looking at this trailer, some of Djokovic's animations look like his animations, and some forehands look rather like Federer/Dimitrov forehands, and they are worlds apart in the technical aspect, as well as grip used and physics....

There’s some tennis games recently like AO Tennis 2 for me that have had a better feeling challenge where you have to perform better to earn points instead of in TS4 where you hardly miss making the game feel not as rewarding.

What is so great about Top Spin’s gameplay? Players don’t hit slow in the middle of the court, a tennis game is way faster than in Top Spin and shots never go in the exact same point.

Smash Court Tennis 2, a game I played a decade ago and still these new games have only graphical differences, no major changes on realism, animations. Tennis games need a major leap similar to FIFA 15 did for FIFA series.
This looks like a more arcade experience like Virtua Tennis whereas Top Spin was always more of a sim. I used to own both as a kid when I wanted different flavors whether I was in a serious mood or wanted to just have some fun.
Can someone explain to me why rosters vary game to game? Is it a rights issue? How does that work? Why does this game have 120 players yet TopSpin2k barely has 15?💀 Is this a more official game? Bigger budget? In collaboration with ATP/WTA? Did the players work/voice on it? There’s been 100s of Tennis games yet they’re all so different. Edit: Also I need to know if Nadal and Federer are playable and how the gameplay compares to the other ‘recent’ games like TopSpin2k, Tennis World Tour 2 and AOTennis2.
Nadal and federer will be playable on release the 22nd of august as long as a LOT of players and djoko will probably voice his own game mode in the game (djoko slam challenge) giving advices to the player, gameplay is a mix between ao 2 and twt2 with enhancements and different things its actually better than those 2 games but still has a way to go and room for improvement and it will.

Dont call top spin 2k25, top spin 4 remastered because its a disgrace to the top spin franchise and maybe one of the worst tennis/sports games of all time (ts 2k25), an insult to OG top spin 3 and 4 fans like me.

So much graphic technology in current consoles and they can't deliver anything great or technically superior to other old games.
