How Video Games RUINED England’s Biggest Wonderkid

- Dele Alli was once seen as the most valuable midfielder transfer in the world. For many, the greatest English wonderkid since Wayne Rooney. Seriously.
But how did such a young star burn out so quickly? Well... it was a mix of lost passion, video game addiction, and an incredibly complicated past. Let's take a deep dive into exactly why Dele Alli's seemingly bright career rapidly burned out.

@RaymarFootball i love your content bro i would love to have a permission to react to your content i also have podcast called Topcornerpodcast and will love to get you on !
We need a part 2. Good video, but I feel you left out the rest of the story. Tifo Football released "The strange career of Dele Alli" a year ago explaining his parents and their luxurious life in Nigeria as a prince.
The English Wonderkid Who Threw His Career Away To Play Video Games
Lovely clickbait title, Clearly the lad has some deep issues from abuse he suffered from when he was a kid but yeah he's just wasted it away to play video games...
I'm an Arsenal fan and even I wouldn't put it like _that_
How good was Ginola!
He focused on football to escape from his past as a child-teenager. Beared the fruits of that work. Video games replaced the escapism combined with the impacts of injury. Without true football passion, nobody can overcome those distractions and setbacks.
as a lifelong tottenham fan, dele’s decline is nothing but pain and sadness, he did things i’ve seen no other player do
BOTTLEJOB
Spurs..what do u expect😂@@SVNT0
Yeah he's better than Messi
1-2 season wonder.
...I feel your pain. But Ajax losing against Tottenham in CL hurts more
I'm glad he's in a better place mentally that's way more important than football.
He’s probably in the streets with his 50 person entourage
@@jamesmckeon9139 What exactly is that supposed to mean, if you don't mind me asking?

Petition for RaymarFootball to make a video about Cannavaro (Week 12, Day 84)
I agree
Yes

There is this channel “Kicknetz” about Fabio Cannavaro
Your comments on this channel is 20. How tf u week 12 day 84?
Dele Alli's history is just sad, he had the potential of becoming one of England's best players
So he had the potential to be slightly above average at best ? I understand
Ikr, imagine prime dele alli with bellingham and rice in the mid field
I've just seen a 12 minute peak Alli compilation. The kid astounded me... CLEARLY a generational talent and virtually our Neymar at his best Only Ravel Morrison gave me the same reaction). The problem is many at that talent level are mavericks - so, add in a pretty dodgy upbringing and you have the kind of mentality that effectively relies on the kind of club he gets supporting him as much as his talent. With manager changes at Tottenham came discipline / authority issues... add in injury and you had a brew that made him go downhill.
I truly wish that he first gets mentally and physically healthy. If he does we'll all again wonder at a ridiculous talent...
Should've listen to the special one
If u genuinely think english players are only slightly above average then ur ball knowledge is insand@@christophergallagher3845
To keep the passion and motivation up for the whole career is indeed hard. Even Pato once said in his interview: I have enough suffering, I wanted to enjoy the fruit of my labor. I think this is what happened to him. Not just anyone can be Ronaldo and Messi with talent alone, the heart need to be there as well.
It happens to a lot of athletes. Very few have that passion to maintain discipline for 15 years +.
Obviously are deluded by what real life is and spoilt brats, he's not there to love it he's to do what he gets paid to do, it's his job and if he doesn't love his job which was football then he's useless to any team, he didn't even like football hence no football IQ as he probably never watched it or read books on ex players. He's a person who is a waste of space. A real loser in life
Poor guy, only we who carry such childhood traumas know the pain. People from normal families will never understand us. Good luck to you Dele!!!
its like those memories and trauma are always there haunting you, you may not pay attention to them in your prime, while you're at the peak of the mountain, but they are always there waiting for you, lurking in the darkest corners of your mind.
Do one on Ansu Fati witnessing him rising and falling has really been sad. From Messi’s heir to being loaned out of Barcelona
I don’t think there is much to be said about him. He is young. He wasn’t that “spectacular” as Leo and for example Lamine. I don’t think it’s close
why are you commanding raymar on how to run his channel?
@@goshochernii 18 year old Fati was a monster. His clinical touch was out of this world. Dude was scoring from every angles. Sure, he wasn't really a speedster like Mbappe and he wasn't doing some flashy dribbles, but he had an eye for goal. Not calling him a spectacular player at the time would be an understatement
@@greenlandium1543 I see your point. He is a talent for sure. But not messi's heir.. Too bad he is so prone to injuries, maybe he would've played a better role in feran's place if injuries didnt happen...
There was no rise. Just Barcelona bluffing its fans 😂😂😂
I think you also need to do a documentary on Jack Wilshere. He is arguably one of the best talent that never fulfilled his potentials. Dominating Prime Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquet in match is not an ordinary feat.
So painful that injury denied us the luxury of enjoying such special talent play the beautiful game for a long time
I will NEVER get over the fact that this mumble player started playing the UCL final instead of Lucas Moura. That season Alli was already going really bad. It was CLEARLY that the Spurs team always played better without him, through out the championship. Even so, Pochettino put him in place of Lucas. That is unbelievable.
I’ll never forget being in high school watching the tv and seeing that volley against crystal palace. Good times. 😢 🤍💙
in addition dele growing up without a father figure, he found that in pochetinho and when he was sacked lost the only real male role model he ever had in his life who cared deeply about him. it had to have ruined his confidence and self belief
How do you know who was his father figure 😂
I know plenty young men at work who didn't have a father and they work hard and taking nothing for granted . Unlike delle alli
@@christophergallagher3845 you should ask them if they were in an atmosphere with drugs, alcohol, and s-xually abused at 6 years old
welcome to the world, humans are all unique and suffer/recover differently, u dont even know the guy personally lmao plus imagine being caught up in trauma and the whole world just laughing/mockin you for poor performances while they dont know the true story, the plenty of young men u know also gone through that right?@@christophergallagher3845

Despite the ego and somewhat vicious demeanour on the field, I still have a soft spot for Deli Ali (even as an Arsenal fan) probably more so now. He’s a reminder that people have peaks and troughs in careers. People can fall out of love with jobs and need the right environment, mentors, luck and motives to thrive. We all get lost once in a while in life, and it seems to have happened to Ali at what is meant to be a peak moment in a footballer’s career. I hope Ali finds his path in or outside of the sport.
So sad to see how much he declined. I think a lot of people forget how good he was - he seemed to have the potential to be one of the best players in the world so for it to end up like this is such a shame. Still, he's only 27 so hopefully he can turn it around.
Not everyone has millions in the bank being paid over 50k a week and hating their job . I'd scrub Joe bidens ass for 50k a week and I would not once co.plain , I'd thank them for paying me
As a Gooner, I really hope for the best for Dele Alli. I don't care if he played for Spurs, he is a human-being. I never knew about his childhood, so learning about it; it makes sense really. Guy never really had a real childhood and now he is financally secure and can help look after this "adtoptive" parents (yes I am quoting it cause to me THEY WERE THE REAL PARENTS!) he just wants to enjoy what he likes and do things he didn't get a chance to. Man just wanted to escape his past and I can't fault him on that one bit. Respect to him for staying in the game and not entirely dropping out of the sport. I am so happy to hear that his mental health is in the best state it has ever been! I do hope he can grace the Premier League again one day!
Thank you for bringing back the iconic song
It’s sad watching Ali always chasing any sort of escapism from his life
Documentary was on Prime Video btw (love your work)
Amazing tribute to Delli Ali
He will be back some day
Back where ? He had the potential to be slightly abive average but he wasted it
@@christophergallagher3845 he had way more than just being 'above average'
@@joelthorpe4170 yeah I was just trying to make the point clear . He was way above average in his best seasons as a player but still way below the level of top stars overall in Europe
That Turkish team isn't that big a downgrade from spurs tbf

Much respect to Deli😎
Whichever team one would play, I would always love young players with huge potentials, and i would always from the bottom of my heart, hope that they would succeed.
That it includes Dele Alli.
7:29 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The way he emphasised the 'LAZY'😂
Remember when he scored that goal😮😮 the nostalgia hits different
As a madrid fan i would love to see a video on Claude makelele and wanna know his playstyle by you ❤
We need Raymar football video every week.we interesting content with good way of explaining.💫
I still sign Alli, Jovic and Pato on my FM saves just so I can resurrect their careers
Hopefully now that he’s in an improved mental state he can revive his career. He’s only 27, and as a stable person he still has time to renew his passion.
Explosiveness was a key part of his game and getting into open space. Couple injuries reducing that explosion and whatever other stuff was toned down his cutting edge. But bodies heal and he might still find himself again, I fully expect to find him tearing up the MLS soon, hoping he makes it stateside
The chosen one😭
Raymar Football pls make a vid about Radamel Falcao pls🙌
Imagine if he stuck at it. Midfield of rice ali and bellingham with foden saka and kane infront 🔥🔥🔥
His old fifa cards 🔥🔥🔥
Great! Can you make video, what happened to Paul Pogba
No body understands delli ,do what ever you want you deserve it and you earned it .
Day 1 of asking Raymar to make a video about Gheorghe Hagi
Still can't do that celebration finger thing. 😂
Delli Ali career is incomplete without Mourinho meeting
Raymar should make a vid on a goalkeeper
Which goalkeeper ? Any goal keeper ? Maybe about Jim Leighton or Rab Douglas ? Both decent keepers
Hopefully he could recover, all the best wishes for him
This happens a lot to players, when they get big contract renewals they usually stop playing as well and they start to decline.....Players need to be kept hungry, money really is ruining football.
Was just thinking about this bloke, womdering where he'd gone
I always thought this channel is the same channel as daily dose of football..
Jude Bellingham before Bellingham was a thing
You should make a video on Jose morinho
A lot of people don't get Dele the blame he deserves. He had the world at his feet and was told by experienced managers to sort himself out.
Laughing when told hes underperforming etc. I am a Tottenham fan and watched his decline, it wasn't injuries, it was a lack of passion, he wouldn't make the runs and even stopped closing down opponnets
Yes, you was very good and ponetial even he could be continued by now.
😮😮😮😮😮
@RaymarFootball
Second petition for cannavaro got the idea from someone else but i soo wanna see this.
Hope you get back near your best dele . When most men get knocked down . is for a reason. You need to slowly get back up and go with the flow each day . Never give up .
Make a nesta video
Alli and Le Tissier are England's best ever non-dribbling, non-playmaking, pure attacking midfielders.
can you make a video on gianfranco zola
Mate he’s spoken to Gary Neville about this
Wow he's just like me
Still waiting for the Kenny Dalglish video
I remember him playing for england squid him rashy and lingaard they looked like they are siblings
We watch Bellingham, I see Dele Alli
Nah Bellingham is on a different level. Dele on his peak (yes I watch his games) goes missing then does 1-2 brilliant stuff that led to goals
@@jiyefuuuso no different to Bellingham then
@@kotori4865 Bellingham's best asset is his mentality most young players don't have the mental toughness or intelligence he does.

He was always a championship player made by the media
Who's trying dele ali celebration while watching this video?
👇
Guardiola's daughter drained him of his... motivation.
jude bellingham game looks very similar to this
Mourinho and Pochettino cared more for the guy than he cared for himself.
No celebration is more famous than the siiiu
Dele Ali was once up there, he could have made it to Madrid one day but his carelessness ended his future. Such a shame.
I remember the spurs fans gave saka a standing ovation when he returned from the world cup . Would the arsenal fans give dele the same treatment. 😊
make a video about gullit
should go to bundesliga
Which one, Fabio or Paolo?
Dele tanking off like this would be equivalent to seeing Jude Bellingham play in EFL League two within 2 years. It’s that bad.
It's okay Dele. Video games ruined my life too
Make a video on Yaya Toure
Dele Alli needs to go back and promote street things. Football is for good hearted people
Ali, Ozil, Hazard and Higuain. The “What Could’ve Been’s” of the PL
Higauin was past his prime though haha
He’s crazy smart on the field, I love it
He was kinda like Thomas Muller in his prime
This one still hurts 😒kmt he deserved more patience...we loan out dombele and SELL DELE!? And THAT palace goal on my birthday il NEVER forget🙌🏾COYS
P.s 🙏🏾ange gives him a contract lol🫡
Everyone knew it was over when Mourinho called him lazy and he just laughed
It's an awkward situation though and Mourinho at the time was just making jokes tbh, can't blame him for that nervous laugh
Kinda unfair to specify gaming, Griezmann could be worse and he isn't questioned about it.
social media clout destroyed deli and rashford
Hey hey hey suiiii 😅😅
Going to Spurs was his first mistake, that club is rotten.
the next after this is jadon sancho
Bruh ma boii is with cindy tf u want more , he winning fr
make a video about son
Dele Alli fall is still celebrated by great by some gangs in England because he used his position to promote gang signs. He's fall should be a lesson to all gangs that he promotes
Leave him alone
I won’t judge on how he lives his life.
In the end Murinho is always right
He's a reflection of today's young man
But did he fulfil his potential as a gamer?
Our 'best season ever' isn't finishing second 🤦♂
I saw his interview he said that he was suffering from past traumas not this bullshit gaming
yes but that Gaming was also a huge distraction from football and only helped feed his addictive behavior and lack of commitment
All seeing eye with 3 fingers.
8:03 is clearly see isnt hes falut hes still has on right foot contusion thats why the foot hits the other player and got red card for that is like be 20% having control on your leg
Tottenham had this wonderkid, Kane, and Son and still didn’t win any trophies 😅😅😅
Alli owes absolutely nothing to the fans.
