One of the things that have resonated with me since I was a little girl are cozy places in games, so RPGs very quickly became a favorite. I remember playing this game when it came out, I was 12 and fell in love with the world. I stayed in FH listening to this BGM for at least an hour just taking the scenery in. Love the whole thing so much.
this game has a huge variety of absolutely stunning pre rendered background art thanks to its weird world of many different types of places, but the screens in FH where you can see the huge solar dish from above (like at 0:12 or 1:25) or inside (0:20) are some of the most beautiful in all three PS1 games in my opinion
I absolutely agree. Tbh I would give everything for FF to go back to beautifully made pre-rendered backgrounds and having an actual world map to explore… all of the FF before FFX had these elements, and the sense of uniqueness and discovery they evoke simply cannot be matched.
This song always gets me. The peace that this place brings is so beautiful, and I can't help but reminiscing about my childhood playing this game. One of Nobuo Uematsu's best works.
I don't know why but every time I hear this it just makes me melancholic. is it the nostalgia or just the music? maybe both actually. Song is really good
I've listened to a lot of Final Fantasy remixes online, and this seems to be one of the more popular pieces ... listening to the original again, I can see (well, HEAR) why!
A wonderful piece, from a brilliant composer. Nobuo Uematsu captures emotion and conviction in each note. Personally, I feel nostalgic when I listen. I think of the journey through this story, reaching this juncture, and you hear this. It is definitely a nice respite here in Fisherman Horizon. 🙂
I recently went to a coastal area near Tokyo that really reminds me of this song. I'd like to think maybe when this was composed Nobuo was surrounded by a similar kind of serenity.
The scene where Squall and the others come to Winhill in the present day, in a house that is Raine's old house, who died 10 years ago, and sees Raine as just an illusion. This scene made me cry, tears flowing.
The story of why warriors exist: not to be violent, but to protect those who aren't capable when violence arrives at your door regardless of whether you agree with it or not.
Tell me someone reconnected a mother and son at fisherman's horizon?! I remember the strategy guide giving side quests and thus one I never managed to do was reconnect the balamb garden cafeteria worker with her son who was somewhere in fisherman's horizon. I never did figure that one out but I hope someone did. This music is what heaven is probably like
It's funny because I don't remember a single solitary thing about this town in the game itself, but I've always loved the music. Don't you see Raijin and Fujin there or something?
@@frankiejamespinedo7391 I mean I love FF, and I think it's worth going through even the bad games again to experience stuff you haven't before and maybe gain a new appreciation for them.

the good old days, this plus dali village and ahead on our way. Nobuo music just beautiful
Probably my favourite town in any video game. Incredible visuals, and some wonderful, calming music. I love it.
I will never forget how that mayor stood up to that Galbadian Commander. He just wasn't having it.
Blame Galbadia!

I was 8 and I feel the same way.
Nobuo Uematsu is an absolute genius
One of my favorite places in the game BECAUSE of the music. It’s so relaxing! 😊
Decades later, this is still my absolute favorite video game city/town theme.
Mine too, so otherworldly.
For me it was middle school, I get emotional as well.
After all the turmoil and stress, Fisherman's Horizon was a welcome reprieve. The music was definitely one of the strongest things from this place.
This music soothes my newborn and mom at the same time. A pleasure for the ears.
This one always makes me emotional.
Me too.
was waiting for this to be uploaded, the memories flood back in ... want to revisit Windurst, can't wait for Final Fantasy XI soundtrack

I remember getting here for the first time and I kinda just had to stop to listen to the music, it's so pretty

Music to soothe the soul. I always loved this area, and the music is definitely the biggest reason why.

One of the best tracks in all RPG history.
Definitely.
Absolutely love this song, one of the highlights of FFVIII!
I like this BGM very much in FF8
It brings joy and calmness.
This song reminds me of being a kid, mystified by FF games. Another reason why FF8 is one of the best final fantasy games.
Brings back memories....

ff7, ff8 and ff9 are the best FF.

The story of why warriors exist: not to be violent, but to protect those who aren't capable when violence arrives at your door regardless of whether you agree with it or not.

Favorite song in the game
Feel like 8 might have the best music overall. This, Balamb Garden, Laguna and main battle theme.
Yeah it's really hard to choose because I love a lot of songs in 9, 10, 12 and 13, but 8 is just so majestic and versatile.
Master Fisherman is one of the best side characters in the series.
