FFVIII's Disc 1 finale still is a peak video game moment. Absolutely epic.
Favourite ost ever. This is just too epic and I absolutely love the mystic sorcery vibe of FF VIII. Really makes me feel like I'm fighting to save the world.
Ff8's soundtrack is arguably one of the best as each track perfectly captures the tone
I love love love LOVE how they used the PS1's hardware to make the 3d backgrounds 'melt'. The vertices coming apart, revealing the void within. The buildings going all wobbly.

One of the most dire sounding boss themes. It makes you feel like the stakes are at their highest; do or die.
Well they pretty much are. 1st time squall pretty much attempts a suicide run after Irvine fails to assassinate edea. 2nd time edea is in galbadia helping with a war. 3rd time you need to ein to even get a chance to even get to ultimecia.

Never understood the FF7 main theme motif that plays at the end of the intro
Maybe Uematsu had been playing 7 that morning and it was on his mind...
Sorceress Edea was actually designed for FF7, but ended up not fitting into 7's narrative, so she was recycled into FF8. The FF7 theme motif was meant to be homage to where her character came from, though I think this remains unconfirmed.
The Castle and Premonition are my faves 🥹 Kay nvm the entire FF8 Soundtrack is my fav!!
Rinoa's Burst Theme
Another one that would be fantastic in an orchestrated version.

No matter what anyone says, Final Fantasy 8 was my all-time favorite in the series. I also think the music was the best out of all of them.
初プレイ時はこのBGMと共に延々出てくる『魔女』をいつまで相手にしなきゃいけないのかとぼんやり考えながら戦ったものだ
One of the most iconic songs from VIII. #4 on my list and instantly tells me "You are facing the main antagonist of the game. Are you ready?" Nobuo hit another home run with this song.
I understand why but having the fight w Adel play Force Your Way instead of Premonition was such a combo breaker, we couldve had every Sorceress fight feature Premonition, but considering it wouleve been so close to the Sorceress Gauntlet i understand why

Only four made use of the great gift that made impact on time itself. As for the nameless inferiors, they were fruitless and tactless with powers which reflect upon their forms which took no wing but crawled and slithered through the obscurity of time itself.
Witches in FF8 are so exotics for me😮.

最初は退屈に感じたが、今では大好きな音楽だ。盛り上がりがとてもよく、戦闘音楽としてとても適している。
Fun fact: 0:21 has the same motif as the main theme of Final Fantasy VII. That’s because Edea was supposed to be in that game.

飛空艇ラグナロクのテーマにも入ってたし、当時の植松氏のお気に入りフレーズだったんでしょ
このフレーズのおかげで実は７世界のずっと未来なんじゃ？とか
大海のよどみは水没した忘らるる都なんじゃ！？とかって妄想したりしてたのでおきにいりです

Edea will never stop terrifying me with her theme and her vibes as a villain, but i'll still take her on any time even if i'm scared.... the fear won't hold me back from vanquishing her one day
First 30 seconds is deciding which party member you want to die on purpose and who you want to pop aura for.
Edit: I know ff8 is known to have some easy cheese but realistically all 3 titans that were ff7 - ff9 all had cheese. FF8 was my personal fave out of the great trio. All 3 were undeniably some of the greatest masterpieces in gaming history.
You missed out FF6, it is the greatest game in the series. I dare even to say that FF6 surpassed FF7, FF8 and FF9. FF9 comes second after FF6, followed by FF8 (and FF4) , FF5, and FF7.
@Cloudcolin I also love ff6. But I really got into ff with the Playstation saga. I actually had ff anthology for Playstation which is how I first played ff6. But that was after I played ff7 and ff8.
Edea had this sense of invincibility about her at the end of Disc 1. Very reminiscent of the hopeless boss fight against Beatrix in FF9x

「魔女」の異質さや妖しさを存分に引き出す名曲。弦楽器らしきイントロで聴き入る。
This is my favorite song on the entire game. FF8 was my first FF back when I played it in 2002. Shame this track is underrated and hardly gets any remixes

I didn't leave a comment here when the video was first released but this is so damn good, and also underrated.
イデアもアルティミシアも、本当に素晴らしいビジュアルで当時見惚れてました。
そして！PC版以降で変更されたアルティミシアの台詞をまるっと動画に入れてくださってありがとうございます！！いつでもこの台詞見られるの嬉しいです！！
