A lot of Conor's training involves hand-eye coordination. I've noticed in his fights he NEVER takes his eyes off his opponents, even as he's weaving and slipping punches, something even high level UFC fighters do. This allows him to routinely control distance and bait people into getting counter punched, which is exactly what he did to Alvarez.

Davis K. All good strikers never take their eyes off the opponent, can't hit something you can't see

Take a look at Payton Talbott, he doesn't have any of the charisma/magnetism that Connor had, but his fighting style is absolutely beautiful and similar

People, I hope you understand that the real training is not on the camera,
The movement training is like yoga, or gymnastics that GSP did, it isn't the real training.
The showed us some sparring, some shadow boxing, pad and bag work, but the real training is not on the camera. His hands are so clean, dang..

CM took the status of the UFC to a whole different level. So he lost a fight. You all loose at some point. Whether you are Ali, Djokovic, or Barcelona etc. No matter what sport. Loosing is part of it. How will he come back? That tale will be told in the ring.
He is an immensely talented fighter who put in an enormous amount of hard work to get where he is. He deserves nothing but respect. And no I am not Irish. I am Dutch. We will however visit Dublin end of August. Gotta love that town.

The simple fact that you can go on any mcgregor video posted and scroll through the comments to see haters spilling their feelings all over the page is proof that he had a greater impact on the sport than any of them would publicly recognize. They're still all so happy he got beat once because they were so mad he beat Aldo. The desperation in their attempts to talk shit is hilarious.

+iiDefied we like his fighting but not his attitude.. he talks about respect and he gives non..
its really frustrating to watch any fighter talk like that.. especially someone that known to society and considered by kids a role model.. imagine if all the kids/people looking up to him acted like that..
1 month ago we were in a tournament and a guy acted exactly like him, every single person in the arena wanted him to lose.. he was an excellent fighter really.. but he was not respected because he gave no respect..
in the eyes of many people Conor is an asshole and a bully.. why do you think anderson silva was loved by everyone.. he was polite/kind/nice.. we are martial artists not monkeys.. we have the obligation to behave in an honorable manner.. its an obligation regardless on what you think.. and we dont care if he wants to sell the fights or get in his opponent head..
do you act like he does in your fights?

I'm a huge huge McGregor fan so here's some tough love. If you want to defeat someone at Mayweather's caliber in a boxing ring you need to improve your cardio and speed a lot more. Heck you're in your 20s but get winded after 2 rounds in the UFC. Cardio, cardio, cardio. you cannot rely on your amazing talent and punch because Mayweather is also talented and can throw, and take, a punch - but he can last for 12 Fing rounds!

Many users here burst comments that "this is 100% real training" etc. Why the fuck do you think that way? Do you really think this is it, it's the full training? No, it's not.
I'm an MMA fighter, but I asked my trainer not to give me tournaments and all that, because I wan't to do it for myself, alone.
All I can say, this is maybe 40% of the training that he does, believe me or not - that's true as hell. I've experienced this situation in real life, but sticked into dude's face the real training program and he stayed quiet, respectful.
Don't hate Conor, - respect what he is doing. He was nothing, lower than a 0. He did it for himself, he got out of his comfort zone every training and worked his skin off. The hard work paid off and now he's here. It's not just a "talent", nobody is born as a boxer.
Champions are not born, they are made.
I'm not a big fan of him, but I'm a big fan of his work. He is machine.

he tried a few but realized it used up too much energy and his range wasn't right he just couldn't figure nate out his style was something he hadn't faced before, that's why he is so focused on training right now he understands he is fighting a taller longer striker with all around skills..

    • @stephensinclair2349
      @stephensinclair2349 8 лет назад

I agree he did try but they weren't the unorthodox style of kicks that he's got.plus he had already gassed when he tried a couple of kicks.

You don't watch Connor cause he's one more BJJ guy, or that he's the best out there, but because the unusual fighting style/training, along with his character - some fresh air in MMA. Will it work? It worked fine till Diaz, wiped out an entire division. Is Connor fighting style superior to BJJ? As we saw, not, but he's evolving and it's entertaining to watch his fights.

Yeah, I agree. BJJ was the last move. However, the point was that he is interesting to watch, that was all. Don't get me wrong, I like watching Diaz too. Stockton Slap? Anytime.
