Embraceable You......................... words by Ira Gershwin music by George Gershwin
The names Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers appear regularly in
connection with the music, movies, and stage productions of George
Gershwin (1898-1937). For Gershwin’s 1930 Broadway
production, Girl Crazy, Astaire was brought in to choreograph the
show, and Rogers danced, sang, and brought down the house with
her performance of “Embraceable You.” The song tells the story of
one who is hopelessly in love and who wants to be embraced and
held by the person she loves-the most wonderful and perfect
person in the world. Since its premiere, Embraceable You has
become a traditional pop standard and has been recorded by nearly
every pop vocal artist, including Billie Holliday, Bing Crosby, Ella
Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Johnny
Mathis, and a host of others. It is a perfect expression of romantic
love. Видеоклипы
