I love the bit where when Dave calls attention to Bill's smoking, he apologizes and offers him a cig..... 1:08 love it. I knew people that did that unironically in real life, not these days but, I mean in the 90s it wasn't uncommon.
I think Dave stops drinking coffee because it's the only condition Bill would agree to stop smoking... in the end they both have the same symptoms of abstinence lol
"Hey, but Matthew...One of those books is upside-down." "Mr. James, with all due respect, have you ever read four books at once?" "Whu...no." "Then don't tell me how to do it."
I was in the hospital smoking, the nurses would come in to bum cigarettes off of me, we would all be smoking while sitting in the room or hallway..wtf was that, I lived it and it seems surreal... blows my mind, I can't stand the smell of it now...
HILARIOUS. I had read on a previous post that they thought this episode was the BEST! I had to watch again and it was LMAO laughter with tears. WHATEVER...BILL💔❤🙏 RIP PHIL
This is a great one, but I wouldn't say it's the best. They had many which were on a different level better. The one where Jimmy pretends to balloon around the world is insane. Goofy Ball is another gem... the way the ball interrupts scenes is something I've never seen before or since.
R.I.P. Phil Hartman (1949-1998) This thing was so funny when he was smoking it was a non-smoking roll at the radio station which was so funny but Phil Hartman was so perfect to play that role but it’s a shame that he was murdered by his crazy wife
@@oliviabynum32 Oh my.... didn't see that coming. Thought it would be something health related... well I guess it is 'health' related. To me, unless it is TRULY warranted, being killed by your partner is horrifying. Again, it's different if we're talking some kind of abusive torturous relationship so in those cases one could take the leap to understand someone killing in self-defense but what would get me is if it was a close trusting relationship... the other would never see it coming. Kind of went on my own rant there but thanks for the info. Had noooo idea that happened to him. To be honest, I just thought he was spending his time off screen doing other things was the reason I hadn't seen him for a long time. Well I guess that clears it up.
The Episode with them cutting Phils promo, and him telling dave that he ripped its heart out , grinded it, cooked it, barfed it back up to a casette tape etc, they have a side gag with first nobody, then Beth sitting in the back ground, next shot she is gone again. Similar thing in episode when they try a new coffee stand downstairs, show is too sick, i love it.
While traveling around Europe in Slovakia, my friends and I got on a city bus... the bus driver was smoking a cigarette. We took a cab, the cabbie lit up a cigarette a few min after we got in. You could smoke in any bar, club or restaurant... it was awesome. I’m not even a smoker, I don’t care if other people do
Been binge watching this on Prime Bout done with season 1. Just finished this episode not too long ago. Forgot how funny this show is. One of my favs. Very underrated. This is my fav episode of season 1. Can't believe u didn't include the part where Bill & Dave snap at Matthew. I'd take the 100.
Yep.cigarettes are the official sin of many a Christian church too. No greater sin in public can be committed. We had a radius of allowed or permitted smoking around the church, because “we wouldn’t want people to not come to church because of the smokers”. So even the disabled ladies who smoked needed to go down the street to smoke. Unbelievable. We non smokers were so much more righteous than those smokers! 🙁
And crazy enough Joe Rogan almost wasn’t cast in the show! In the pilot, Joe’s character was played by Greg Lee. I wonder how things would’ve turned out if Rogan was never cast.
" I'm on it Mathew "😂😂😂
Such a hilariously well written show. Very underrated in my opinion. I just loved it.
RIP....... Phil
@reil one of my favorite shows. Been binge watching on prime. Bout done with season 1
Phil Hartman was so perfect in this role
Can't believe his wife killed him
RIP
Horrible way to go out
And post-KITH Dave is also good.
@@alexrezel8860 Yes... specially considering Dave was 80% of the time in drag on "KITH" lol

Was there ever a role Phil Hartman could not play? He was spot on in every single skit every single role. RIP
The TEAM?!? It's all BILL that's trying to quit the smokes!!!
I think Dave stops drinking coffee because it's the only condition Bill would agree to stop smoking... in the end they both have the same symptoms of abstinence lol
0:52 I love how they use actual radio terminology. I understood every word they said.
MATTHEW TURN AROUND AND GO BACK TO YOUR DESK 🤣🤣🤣 I hear this line all the time 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Rip Phil 💙

The patches tho lolol in the full episode Phil is wearing about 100 patches lolol and hotboxes the radio booth
That’s my favorite part😂 He wasn’t feeling very well
My favorite TV show of all time. R.I.P. Phil Hartman.
-Lor-
1. It should be Bill Struggles To Stop Smoking
2. Phil Hartman is a national treasure
3. Shame on Brynn Hartman
Nobody makes smoking look cooler than the man, the myth. The legend, Bill McNeil
This is the most 90's plotline and I love it
2:07 Andy Dick was playing 5D chess with the mask in the building
Nice look is that from J. Crew ... lmfao
This and the Daydream are my favorite episodes of this show.
i remember being able to smoke inside buildings
Mee too 😔

That is the clip I was hoping for. Probably my favorite moment of the show.

Bill looks like a cross between Steven Spielberg & Woody Allen in this scene

Sitcoms with laugh-boxes will never find their way with the new generations. They will remain in the past unfortunately
What's unfortunate about it?
@@Aivottaja too right that shits annoying.
Laugh boxes? Newsradio was filmed in front of a live studio audience, just like most other sitcoms.
I love laugh boxes. Idk why, new sitcoms feel so dry.
Thats because new sitcoms past the 2000s were fake laughs, these are all real like SNL

He sounds like Kevin Spacey here lol 3:09
