I am deeply moved by Mercedes’ continued recognition of the importance of Niki Lauda to the team’s history since rejoining F1. I remember the 1976 season in which he almost lost his life, but recovered enough to make the season’s ending one I will remember as long as I can. And we must recognize that Niki was a primary factor in bringing Lewis to Mercedes. Rest in peace, Niki. ❤

Loved seeing what goes behind making such awesome liveries.
Nice to also see interviews with the people who actually do the work rather than just hearing from designers.
Like the fact that they actually painted the car instead of using these plastic wraps that many use today.
Maybe they should switch to get as fast as those teams

All of the team paint their car…wrap is not an option because it will disturb the aero since they’re thicker and can’t be fix like what they can do with paint fixing prosedure etc.
It's honestly pretty dumb. These aren't show cars, these aren't even street cars - these are cars that race wheel-to-wheel, any paint job is going to get screwed up. And then you have to go through the extra time and expense to repaint things if there's a sponsor change. Pretty much just a needlessly wasteful choice; I mean, you always hear the FIA talk about cutting costs and what not, mandating wraps over paint would be a pretty good one.

This year livery reminds me a bit of the vodaphone era mclare livery but having the teal instead of the red (maybe the previous one, the one with the names of the drivers on the sides), and since it's one of my fav liveries period i can say you've done a good job

Is this just for the reveal car and the race cars use a weighted wrap, or do they go through the same painstaking process for every nose, wing, body shell etc ready for the whole season?

I love how they essentially created a 3-pointed star with the nose & gradient extending backwards, no one seemed to mention it though.

Spray paint would be lighter than decals surely but awesome job love the silver and the green splits to the black 👌

Are the cars repainted after a weekend or just washed thoroughly?
I work at Sherwin Williams and they do got some motion in the engineering department

Imagine these guys paint the car to the max details and knowing it will crashed or chipped asap it down to the track. And they also need to makes serveral wings and aero for each season.
Dark color of paint has more density than light colors , for eg Water has a density of 1 kg / litre. Paint is generally denser than water so if your paint has a density of 1.5 kg / litre then the mass of paint will be 1.5 kg. , what is the weight of car before and after paint .... if titanium white pigment is used which pretty heavy .... just a small observation from my side ...
The W15 looks decent, but I'd prefer ether full black or full silver, not the mix (plus the green highlights)

So, does this mean that the Merc F1 car is now at the min weight limit, as they are painting the car more this year compared to last year?
