Explanation was great but you didn't specify why Mitsuha and Taki keep forgetting about each other. There are also few mistakes . Mitsuha's timeline is in 2013 while Taki's timeline is in 2016. So when Mitsuha visited Taki in 2013, it can never be after his date with Miss Okudera . Actually Taki hadn't even known her because the body swapping didnt start in his timeline but had started in Mitsuha's timeline and we know that the reason of the date between Taki and Okudera is Mitsuha . Also you didnt mention about the underworld . When Taki (in Mitsuha's body)and Mitsuha's family visited the Miyamizu shrine they had to cross a stream . Her grandmother mentions that this stream is the border of the underworld where the shrine is situated. In order to return from the underworld, they had to leave something which is the most important to them . Mitsuha was the most most important person for Taki even if he didn't realise it at that time ,so when they returned from the underworld, Taki's memories about Mitsuha and her messages kept fading at a particular time and their body swapping stopped. Your explanation from there after was right to the point . This is just my theory about their memory loss. I also think your theory also might be right. Kimi no na wa may seem like a normal feel good movie at first but towards the end every trivial detail mentioned at the beginning starts connecting to form a more complex storyline with different timelines. I myself completely understood it after watching it a couple of times . If there is any mistake in what I said , can you please let me know in the comments. And also comment if anyone agees with me after watching the movie.
