She and her siblings had a french tutor while growing up, which is probably why she doesn't make any mistakes, although she's bilingual :)
Their mother also spoke French to them growing up. She would be considered a native speaker.
@@melinda6086 yea, obviously, as i said her tutor is probably the reason why she makes no mistakes, although she is bilingual, cause usually kids who grow up bilingual often tend to make mistakes in their mother language because of the fact, that they don't speak it as often as they speak English for example, just like the main language in their country.
Tahdig I’m aware of that, I’m a teacher and a bilingual one at that. You’re correct. It’s also common for native speakers to only speak in colloquialisms as well, especially if not in the country of said spoken language. Pardon me for not seeing the end of your post originally.

She’s born and raised in France (as well her younger brother) by a french mother (Vanessa Paradis) and attended french schools in the south of France (in Saint-Paul-de-Vance) until their parents separated... afterward she decided to attend high school in Los Angeles because she was more confortable and less under paparazzi pressure there. But she’s a French native speaker by all means. I guess her brother Jack is on the same level since he leave LA for Paris to live with their mother again after their father’s nasty divorce from Amber Head...
Her pace, her accent, how she articulates, how she articulates... beaucoup de clarté
What’s really cool here is that we clearly see that she grew up talking both English and French, i guess her parents were very eloquent with both and corrected her when there was a mispronunciation. I believe she also came very often in France and went to a French school ( i don’t remember), that’s the difference with Thimothe Chalamet I think he came a few times for summer but mostly lived in the US and problably frequented mostly an American environnement, that’s why he has a slight American accent talking French and sometimes forgets his words. It’s really cool tho to be bilingual.

The «R» sound is only hard for English speakers lol and it’s definitely NOT a “just” French sounds as Lily said.

i loved your reaction! in georgian we have ‘ღ’ which is basically the french ‘r’ (?) therefore it’d be easier for a georgian person to learn french. love your channel!

I literally just mess around with French accents when in reading didn’t know it was a tip lol
It’s funny because I’m a native Spanish speaker learning French, and I’ve always been alerted about the R’s. I’m Puerto Rican, and in certain parts of the island, you’ll find that we roll our R’s with that phlegm sound as well, whether you’re doing it because it’s natural to you or you’re mocking it. For example, carro which would normally roll your R’s the traditional way, would be pronounced ca(phlegm R)o. So, it’s made that part of learning French much easier. Haha. I love the language, so I can’t wait to be able to hold a conversation!

She’s so cool that I can’t understand what she is saying when she speaks French lol. The non-chalance makes it’s hard for me to catch the words. I feel like she speaks fast.
There are some interviews of Boris Johnson where he speaks French on French television and radio. He appears to sound like Boris Johnson so I suspect that he hasn't worked the accent out he's but he is meant to be fluent.

I don't think she has a French accent in English either, so she must have learned both languages at an early age... She could easily pass for a French girl IMHO! Impressive ;)

Is it acceptable to use rolled r's in French instead of the modern French r's? (Like the way Edith Piaf had those beautiful rolled r's)

Yeah Lily Rose and I have the same levels of French and English (we both have an American parent and French parent). But wow her American accent is VERY American lol, she sounds like any basic bitch from the Hills and yes I’m dating myself with that Hills reference 😂 Very Los Angeles. I have more of a standard American accent/East Coast.
Other celebs you can react to speaking French: Bradley Cooper, Jodie Foster, Celine Dion (you’ll have fun her accent is SO quebecois haha), Kristin Scott Thomas (she’s flawless!), Keanu Reeves, Diane Kruger, Michael Vartan... will try to think of more! There are a number of American politicians who speak French like Mitt Romney and John Kerry but I don’t know if there’s a lot of videos of them speaking it. Love your reaction videos!

I went to Paris as part of my honeymoon (2 years ago on the 19)and could only say “merci”, and “wee.” I felt horrible constantly asking if someone spoke English.

I studied French for years but some parts of her speech sounded muffled I couldn’t hear her maybe it was the audio? Or maybe I forgot all my French, I understood Timothée’s interview way more.
it's because she speaks fast, but not that fast for a french. Imagine...if you have to listen a tv show in an another room ( in english) and the english is your native language, and imagine ...if the english is not your native language, do you know what I mean...something, somewhere is slighty missing...if you are not english or american you have to be very, very focus.
For a french she's perfectly audible, I don't have to be aware even if I miss some words the mind do the job....I presume.... like you in english.

Curious. I like a Midwestern American accent myself. The RP accent sounds fake to me; no English person grew up speaking like that.
What's curious? And what's "neutral" about it? Some did, and most were listening to it whilst growing up. "Fake" or not, it sounds much nicer than any North American accent.
