  • Todays video shows the complete process of swapping a Salamander shower pump with the direct replacement for that pump, its a very straight forward job to be fair.
    Also we pop into the house renovation for a day to do a few bits including a bath panel which i hate!!!
    Also fit a sink at "The Deli" in Warwick for a good friend of mine

    Asking a customer where to locate wall hung fixtures. Typical scenario, usually with something really heavy like a tall, wall hung cabinet. "Up a bit, to the left a bit, down a bit, to the right a bit. I'll just get my missus see what she says".
    Arms straining, sinews and muscles bulging, head sweating. 10 minutes later. Customers missus arrives.
    "Up a bit, to the left a bit, down a bit, to the right a bit. yeah, that's fine.
    Exactly the same bloody place where I held it in position in the first place.
    Top Tip: Gotcha hands full? Give the customer a strip of masking tape and a bloody pencil for a witness mark. ;-)

    Hi Mark great to see such a variety of work. Wanted to ask your opinion on something, do you def need a blending valve or a TMV on the hot side to keep pump from overheating and can that be a 22 mm pipe from tank where it both feeds the TMV and the cold inlet to pump or do you need 2 separate feeds one to the cold and one to blend the hot water, or can you get away without a TMV. Cheers Mark excellent video again.

    Not sure 🤔 if I’m blind , or you did some kind a trick with that hole-saw , I have noticed you started to drill a bit anti-clockwise 🔄, does it sits better on a unit or it’s not going to slip out, before you start to do actual drilling ?

    Nice video mate 😁 yep 100% hate hate hate bath panels ! Most that come with the baths are just so crap your fighting a loosing battle like trying to polish a turd . I end up a lot of the time buying a better one for the straight ones the curved you just got to go with it and have a bit of luck on your side on the day that one you have done looks great maybe I will just pass all mine to you to fit in future 🤔 😂😂😂 looking forward to next one 👍👍👍

    What do you do if supply plumbing isn't up to scratch? Surrey flange missing etc?( even if it worked fine before!)

  • @MJ-nn1ox
    @MJ-nn1ox 2 года назад +2

    Still can't figure out why the 22 mm pipes aren't continued through to the pumps, why reduce to 15 mm? By the way don't bother asking for replacement parts (in my case a diaphragm with a pinhole -everything else working fine) from Salamander as they just tell you to buy a new item!

    • @MJTiffPlumbing
      @MJTiffPlumbing  2 года назад +1

      It’s a like for like swap, that’s what salamander supply and that’s what is fitted to keep the warranty. Some of the larger pumps have 22mm bronze connectors
      I’ve never had an issue with salamander as a brand, always replace pumps within warranty if there is an issue as long as it’s connected properly and piped up accordingly.

    • @MJTiffPlumbing
      @MJTiffPlumbing  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate
      Never used press fittings and to be honest I don’t like the look of them personally. Also I find they so overpriced and the huge amount of outlay for the tools to do the job…. I will stay oldskool with the soldered fittings 👍🏼👍🏼

    • @MJTiffPlumbing

      Nothing wrong with the ones that were in, also that would of meant draining the hot water system and losing all the hot water, which is a huge waste of energy…
      2 years later and not an issue with the hoses….
      Thanks for your input though👍🏼👍🏼
