My husband always says, "People love it when you love them, they even love it when you hate them, however they absolutely hate it when you're indifferent toward them." It's so true! Just ignore the haters.
I was riding this year from January 17th in Maryland. 26 mile commute to work. On the coldest morning, it was 25 when I left home, and 22 when I arrived at work! Yeah my fingers were pretty cold. Been looking at the Versys 650 and would definitely get the hand guards and heated grips. But probably not for a while. Riding a Yamaha XMAX 300 now.
Hi Iron horse I have added LED lights and use them especially during day time. I am convinced that more then once they saved me by just making me more visible ! Safe rides and keep up the great work 👍
Amazing video explaining the nuances of nighttime driving. Thanks for this. What I liked particularly about your video is that it feels exactly like riding on the back seat. Cheers!
I don't ride much in the dark because the days are pretty long now I am usually asleep at the crack of dawn although I do want to test out the headlights on the Africa Twin. They are LED lights and super bright. I will do a video at dusk one of these days. Your analysis of haters is totally right but I can't imagine how anyone could post a hate comment on your videos with your calm and friendly demeanor.
Thanks Motonut! Well, believe it or not I have had a few haters, but I am so thankful that I have had many many more likers for certain. I will eagerly await your night time video!
own 08 Versys. ride to work a lot also. its one of my favorite all-time bikes. givi bags; engine guards; bark busters; denali sound bomb make this bike an all-around great do - everything bike. as for the haters, dont sweat les miserable.
I love my 2015 Versys, but I find the stock lights are too dim for very dark areas. I've added four very bright LED lights for use when I'm on the poorly lit back roads here in the Philippines. I mounted two very bright ones on the crash bars which make a huge difference, and I've also added two smaller ones just below the windshield. I have those ones angled out slightly, so if I turn them on I can see street signs etc. keep up the video logs, really enjoying them. By the way, I'm glad you got rid of the HD and are now riding a much more comfortable and useable bike.
My lights are shit on my versys so i am looking into firstly changing the bulbs then adding some spotlights once i have figured out where to place them :)
HI Robert. It is a bit of a long story...but here is the short version. One of my favorite songs has always been Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive" and the words of the song say, "I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride." Hence IronHorse (my first bike was an Iron 883), and I live in the Midwest, and sometimes wear cowboy boots. Silly, I know, but I like it. Thanks for watching!
Cool. I started watching your channel because I'm thinking of getting a Versys 650. I currently ride both a Road Glide and a Sportster 883. I also live in Indiana. Too many things in common to pass it all by. :-)
Sorry- I may be missing something but are “we” the midwestern cowboy? It sounds like you are addressing the listener “midwestern cowboy” by you “iron horse”. Is that correct? This would be akin to “ jim”, this is “Steve”. I have always wondered about that.
Thanks Nicolas...my internet connection sucks so it takes three days to upload higher quality videos. One of the negatives about living in the boondocks like I do. Thanks again!!
People hate on stupid vlogs, first you say stock lights are ok for you then your worried about some one coming from behind cause your too slow cause you won,t out drive your standard headlights, DUH! Thats why you get better headlights. Your vids suck but hopefully get better with time, If not your always good for a laugh.
Thanks Roadie! I do try to keep some humor going on in my vlogs! I appreciate the comment...and might just have to try some lighting improvements. I have gotten several suggestions.

Thanks Trevor! Its funny because I think the stock Versys lighting is much better than what I was used to on the HD, so it sees like a night to day improvement over what I had. I might replicate your lighting ideas, however. I am also glad I made the switch as this bike suites me perfectly! Ride safe!
Hi! I just found you. Nice job on the videos. Ignore the haters and keep on. Thank you and ride safe.

Well stated! Thanks for watching.

Thanks Andree, I am definitely considering that as well, we need all the visibility we can get for sure. Ride safe!

Thank you. You must try the front seat :)!

heated gears/jacket/ gloves connected directly to ur battery make a big difference.
Very Good vídeo.

Good luck! You will have to share some pictures once you have figured out what you want to do.
RHT the genuine Kawasaki LED spot lights are the best I’ve used in 30 plus years. Makes
The stock headlight look like a candle
What's with the whole 'Midwestern Cowboy, this is Ironhorse' thing?

IronHorse thanks Brother. I guess the stock lighting on the HD is pretty weak. I've heard that from lots of friends who have them.
