Exchange of words DOES work though if all you want is a giant beater. It doesn't change the stats or color or CMC or creature type or any ability counters or stickers, just the Text Box.
It also works if the transformed other side is no longer a creature, because it only exchanges a CREATURES text box. Like Elesh Norn for instance.

Doesnt the Angel literally say if you cheat the transform you lose the game?

It’s a tricky Magic thing, but the ability doesn’t apply if you transform it using other means! It exists to stop you from cloning the angel and living forever since the clone can’t transform

Yes that's exactly what the card says in plane English you lose if you flip it

The angel can be transformed in other ways.

it only checks for the "lose if you didnt transform this way" IF your life would go to 0. if that doesnt happen & you transform it another way, it doesnt even check for that bc its only contingent on the initial "if"

not sure if you were being sarcastic coz im not super familiar with paper magic but jin-gitaxias is great in arena brawl with a buncha cantrips and draw plus payoffs like profts eidetic, wizard class, or if you dont want to kill at that step, going wide with prowess effects. im too f2p to have any of the real bigtime payoff spells, but even without em the deck is surprisingly strong if you just flip it turn 4/5. its even stronger with teferi's tutelage but i felt bad about running that version so i just played it as silly bastards janky board vomit combo. also shoutout to drawing 40+ cards in a turn exclusively to deck yourself because its funny with that first flip effect, ideal for fucking around tbh.

I have Flip Jin gitaxias in my goose mother deck and have flipped it a few times. Haven't lost a game once i flip him into the draw 7 cards wipe the board then omniscience yet.

It would work if you played Exchange , transformed, then removed Exchange completely!
