  • I was originally experimenting with a piece by Max Richter on a long external tape loop but I kept running into issues with tape tension. Ultimately the Tascam shredded the tape so I started over with something simpler.
I recorded four droning chords with the Prophet Rev2 on a short tape loop. The Volante adds some movement and the small stone creates a phasing effect.

It sounded a lot like the intro of "Bug" from Crumb!

Cant work out how the tape counter is turning but the reels are still. Does that Tascam have an internal memory? Great stuff regardless!! 😊

The tape is actually moving but it's quite hard to see since there is not enough tension in the loop.
      Thanks for watching!

It’s basically a very simplified 4 chord mellotron.
