      The research I’ve read has explicitly stated red light therapy is most effective when used after application of a retinol or tretinoin. The optimal time is daily for 15-20 minutes. I have the omnibus, and the timer shuts off at 10 minutes, so I click the control again and use it for 20 minutes. I have absolutely noticed a difference in my upper and lower eyelids, my center line on my forehead, and around my mouth. All the “problem” areas of my face. You must be consistent with daily use to get results, and to maintain the results. I am loving my mask, and plan to buy the neck and chest, and wells as gloves as soon as I have the mask paid off.

    • @Barbiedoll99999
      @Barbiedoll99999 3 месяца назад

      Yes, I FULLY agree with the red light therapy making sun spots go away with CONSISTANT use, but TRUE, it does nothing for wrinkles. I did my research for a SOLID yr. & found a reknowned double board certified facial plastic surgeon right across the river, Upstate, NY in the Hudson Valley. Litterally 8 miles from where I live. He also has an office in NYC. I got VERY lucky. He has a fellowship, trains other Dr"s, goes abroad to different third world countries to do surgeries & trains the Dr's WHILE doing the surgeries!. He's in the Hudson Valley Magazine as one of the top notch plastic surgeons around the NY area & has been in that magazine SEVERAL times, so I got extremely lucky. I bit the bullet, made a consultation & went ahead for the surgery. I could not be any happier. PLUS, I am 66 & he matched up what I felt on the inside, which is in my mature 30's. He did not change the structure of my face, but lifted it back up as I used to look. NOW, the reason WHY I chose plastic surgery is simply because all the things this wonderful beautiful "Cindy" has said.......all these things costs money. She said she had to budget for what she wanted to achieve. These procedures here & there are FINE, but they will not last forever. Its not a one & done. SKINCARE is a MUST, no matter what you choose. But to achieve what Cindy chooses to achieve without going under the knife, costs money. As per watched her video & her journey she has gone through for 7 yrs., HAD to cost her a pretty penny. Plus you have to keep it up. In her 7 yr. journey she"s probably spent MORE money than I spent on ONE surgery. If you can't afford to keep up the little things here & there, you have litterally waisted TONS of money. And depending on WHERE you live, the costs for all these procedures COULD be very high. I as well started in 2015 with botox, a little filler here & there & saved the receipts just to see how much I spent in a matter of 8 yrs. It was a LOT! Then the jowls started. I went from a facially beautiful woman with a beautiful heart shaped face into looking so old with a now SQUARE face, a turkey neck & crepey facial & neck skin. It LITTERALLY sent me into a very bad depression. I am a hairdresser, But felt & llooked like an old HAG! Beautiful looks run in our family. We won the genetic lottery, but getting on up in years. healthy & STILL feeling in my 30's through me for a LOOP! Some want to grow old gracefully, I don't. We are ALL given free will. I chose the one & done surgery, saved a LOT more money in the long run doing so & feel SO much better about myself. This surgery will last me 10-15 yrs. I of course STILL do my morning & nightly routine skin care & use that red light therapy EVERYDAY. I also use medical grade skin care products. One thing I wanted to point out & that is whether you get the panel OR the face mask, they BOTH have to be plugged in, so I didn't understand that Cindy had mentioned that the mask could be more convenient. With what way??? You can only walk so many feet from where you have it plugged in. But if anyone has any questions or comments on MY paragraphed story, please feel free to ask. I am a hairdresser & was also trained in a little skin care while in school. Cind, your video was GREAT to watch. I will subscribe to you. THANK YOU

One tip I’ve learned with my mask: if I make sure the mask is touching my skin (I gently press on my cheek hollow) it has made a big difference in my results for smoothing texture in that area.

    Hi Cindy! Great video! I completely agree that red light immediately calms down my redness too. I don’t think that calming inflammation should be dismissed, as I really believe if your skin in constantly inflamed, that definitely ages you.
    I really believe that the results you get from red light have a lot to do from where you are starting. Obviously red light wasn’t a mainstream thing when we were younger, but I can only imagine for those that start younger(like your son) and are consistent, they will probably have amazing results!

    I had a full facelift 2 months ago! Fabulous job! I didn't do my eyes because I didn't need it but I did do a full facelift which included my neck and my two daughters in their 50s's did a mini facelift which included the neck and all three of us are very very pleased. It was easy and minimal swelling and like I said incredible job and wish I had done it sooner. Tried to send before photos from four months ago before laser treatment and before the facelift so you could see the comparison. Very natural. I'm definitely glad I did it because at 75 I tried to talk myself out of it. My friends just kept saying you don't need it, you don't need it, your skin looks great I don't know why you're doing it. One of my daughters says mom you're just too old. Of course that just made me want to do it more. My husband said honey you look great but do what makes you happy. I don't have any health issues I don't take any prescriptions so I went for it. Healing was incredible in such a short period of time and scars that I can barely see even in magnification mirror. Needless to say I'm happy about that too. Waiting to hear your announcement on what you plan on doing? I hope this encourages you to do whatever it is that you wanna do. I know going under anesthesia is scary for most and one of the reasons my daughter didn't want me to do it at my age. I had absolutely no problems with the surgery or after the surgery, it was a piece of cake. My recommendation number one find the best board-certified plastic surgeon and do your homework. Good luck and keep me posted.

    I noticed a peak in your skin health after 3 months, and then it oddly started "declining" a bit again. Could it be that the effects "harm" instead of help if it's used too much? I also saw a youtuber (Koko) who had used red LED for her hair, and her hair grew very much in the beginning and then stopped growing after a period when she had used it excessively. What do you think? Anyone else experienced this?

      I used LED according to directions which as you point out is very important. Over use can be drying and counter productive. If you skip to the time stamp 6:20 I explain why some pictures aren’t as flattering due to my struggles with inflammation throughout the year. But over all with consistency my skin improved over time. I still struggle with bouts of flushing. It’s likely a result of menopause. I HAVE been using red light therapy for many years, but not on my face, and not with LEDs. I have a laser device. My husband and I have both been using the Omnilux face masks for about 9 months and have seen a measurable improvement in our skin as to overall skin tone, improved brightness and texture. I was also disappointed that Omnilux didn’t have any LED lights in the upper lip area but, I ended up purchasing their new Eye Brightener mask which is a small kidney shaped device that is perfect for the upper lip area. It's called the Maysama "Prana" mask. The fact that it has the mouth area covered was what made me decide to go with it over any of the others. It's not the most comfortable mask, but I can handle wearing it for six minutes on the infrared pulsed light setting each evening.

    Ok my third try I'm actually going copy paste this from another place on my phone because every time I start to write to you it disappears! It might be somewhere but I can't find it so here goes.
    1st model I'm interested in :
    Illuminate but it was bought by Lumara. A professional model that a local salon purchased about a week ago. She's used it on me twice and I love it. She's been looking for one for three years and this came highly recommended by someone she knows very well that has her own salon also who happens to be a registered nurse. So far I can't find much on this particular machine although the company has been in business for years so I have to do a little more homework which I will do this week. RUclips has a few videos but not detailed enough for me. I'm going to see her on Thursday to have another treatment. My main reason for going is my regular manicure and a pedicure but she is experimenting on me with this new piece of equipment and I'm loving it . Treatments are five minutes which I love .She owns the salon and has been wanting one of these for three years. I think my enthusiasm in talking to her about it got her motivated to finally make a decision. She goes to different seminars throughout the year looking at new items for her salon and she finally pulled the trigger on this one and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Clearly I don't need a professional model but like my daughter says go big go home!
    Second model It’s by a company called biophotas I believe. But you should be able to find it using Celluma pro as well. My daughter's owned hers for five -8 years. She bought it when she lived in LA and she loves hers. The same model is still being made and it's still 30 minutes per treatment and that kind of eliminates that for me. I haven't done any real homework on that model because of the 30 minute treatment time but haven't ruled it out entirely. It looks identical to her machine but I'm sure they've made changes other than the time for the treatments.
    I will look into the machine that you recommended and do a little homework on that one. I really appreciate your rapid response because I have not been able to get Maysama to response to my direct questions. I did however order several products from her especially the one that you use right before the red light therapy. In fact I ordered three bottles one for my daughter and one for the woman at the salon to try with her machine and of course for myself along with a few other things I wanted to try.
    After doing a little research I think the curve panels are more suited to me. I like the idea of having an equal amount of red light therapy on both sides of my face and that's what's made up my mind. If you have any knowledge of these two I'd appreciate any information you have to share. I'm anxious to order something this week so I'll be making up my mind but I will do a little research on the one that you recommended as well.
    Again thanks so much for your help.

      This is a note I wrote to someone else that has a Facebook video on dermalux flex. Of course no mention of pulse red light therapy on the unit? If you know anything about these questions I would appreciate you sharing.
      Is there a pulse feature?
      The newest and greatest is pulse red light therapy? Why are some competitors and professional models only five minute treatment time and others are 20 and 30 minutes? Huge difference. I also noticed when the treatment time is 5 to 7 minutes you only do it between two and three times a week but the ones that are 20 and 30 minutes you could do it five times a week?

Red light (660nm) affects cells more superficially and NIR affects cells at deeper layers of the skin. There are best ranges for each type of light therapy based on research studies but on type of light therapy may not be "better" than another. I'm hoping that you can give me a straight answer concerning the Maysama red light panel. Many units are curved therefore they're treating the front of your face and sides equally at the same time and these are more professional units and are more money. Meanwhile Maysama panel has never shown or demonstrated to my knowledge if sides of your face and the front are exposed equally . I'm a little confused on that because no one mentions rotating the face at all or changing the timer to add more time for any kind of rotation .The timer is set to a max and it never once says to turn your head doesn't discuss it or say to extend the time if you have to turn from side to side at what level are is the unit setting at height wise ?

      Your question definitely makes sense.
      All flat panels in my opinion cant evenly treat the face. I always just slowly turn my head side to side. I don’t increase the time.
      You’re SO right nobody ever mentions that!! I don’t even think I’ve mentioned it the few times I’ve talked about how I use my panels! I tend to use a mask most days. Such an excellent point! I don’t know why it slipped my mind to mention it! 🤪
      If you’re not into head turning nor doing all three (sides & front) for the allotted time.. (i’d worry a little bit about overexposure because there’ll be some overlap ) I say go for a curved panel or a mask. Let me know which one you’re thinking about :)
      If I were to choose a domed or a 3 sided panel I would try the DERMALUX / Derma Flex … it’s a pricey number; but if you have any interest I can reach out for discount code (no guarantees, but it can’t hurt to ask ) let me know.
      I used to have a code, but I don’t think it works anymore. I don’t talk much about it because it’s so expensive. Also I don’t own one myself. But it definitely solves the issue for the sides of the face!!

      I'm trying to make up my mind on the two medically certified units that we talked about. I did find out that the dermalux flex MD does not have red pulse they say intentionally? I think because I've seen the video where the woman that has created the Maysama panel talks about pulse light like it's the best thing ever. I had that in the back of my head like I needed it and now I'm questioning myself. There is a reason why these two certified units have treatments of 20 to 30 minutes and a lot less LED lights than the cheaper pro models which some of them have up to 1000 and they only have 5 minute treatments. I spoke with my daughter today and she says she has never in five years ever use the red pulse feature. My daughter is going on a three week trip to Africa at the end of the month and I'm going to use her panel while she is gone. It would be so nice to have someone to talk to that knew the science behind these two medically certified units and why the treatments are 20 to 30 minutes and no pulse on one of them. I really like the look of the Dermalux Flex model but they don't offer pulse feature but now I'm second-guessing myself where there is a need because the treatments are 20 to 30 minutes and there's a reason for that although I don't have any one to talk to about the scientific information as to why? Hope this makes sense and if you have anything to add I would appreciate it. Let me know if you get a discount code I have a few weeks to research this so I'm not in as much of a hurry since I'm going to use my daughters for three weeks. Of course I've also been told that as long as it's FDA approved it's not the end of the world but definitely don't buy anything that's not FDA approved because it's better than nothing?
      By the way I'm watching your video again and I see quite a bit of improvement where you show using the mask for 12 months . Love your videos by the way and I like your attitude. I know you probably mentioned your age but I didn't rerun the video to find out but I'm 75 and I didn't take care of my skin for years but I was very fortunate my mother had beautiful skin and my dad and I think I inherited some of that. I have had some work done recently in the last couple months and laser treatments and a little bit of cosmetic surgery and I'm very happy with it so I'm trying to get in the habit of taking care of my skin which I have for about three months, yay me. You're inspiring me to move forward!

      @@cynthiaangrisani5877 I didn’t start taking care of my skin until I was 52. I am now 58 almost 59!!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos. I made my very first video after a challenging recovery from ablative laser resurfacing (even though it was the one treatment I’ve had that made the biggest difference in my skin, aside from skincare).
      I subsequently did a really in-depth recovery video. I was definitely not blessed with good skin & I paid the price for my neglect.
      I’m so excited you get to try your daughter’s unit!!! I think that will give you a good idea of the type of results you can get in the short run after five weeks.
      As for pulsed light , I just started my deep dive into it as well. I will say I’d use pulse light for hair growth for over 10 years with nice results. I just need to stay consistent!!!
      I will continue our conversation and link references and information as I discover more about pulsed light. I talk about it briefly (and I want do a deeper dive into it and DNA repair enzymes)
      I’m totally excited you shared your experience with some small cosmetic surgery procedures. I’m thinking about doing a not so small one so keep your eyes peeled for that video! Unless I chicken out lol.

    • @beyond50skin
      @beyond50skin  8 месяцев назад +2

      LOL I hear you! Luckiy these are complementary. LED can help reduce inflammation. First follow your Dr's recommendations. But here are some additional tips. My initial prescriber never told me a thing!... so I burned off my face lol! It took me two years to try it again!
      Retin A is definitely an ingredient you want to have a bit of respect for, absolutely. From my experience if you've never used it before I'd start w/ 1x week, always in your PM routine.. after cleansing on dry skin.
      You can put on bit of moisturizer before... but let it dry down to prevent increased absorption (and a bit after too...this is the sandwich method I used.. after burning my face off the first time). You can also let the Retin A dry down and add a bit of moisturizer after. Once you have no issues, irritation , with 1x a week you can bump it up to 2 then 3, 4, 5, etc. The great thing about Red light is you can use it in the AM to calm down any redness that creeps up with starting Retin A. Once you're used to Retin A you can use your LED AM or PM. Whatever suits your schedule. Red Light in my experience is best used after cleansing before the rest of your skincare. If you have any additional questions let me know. Thanks for being part of the beyond50skin community.💜
