This seems like one you gotta watch a few times to get it all but generally I love all the epic rap battles!
Last guy was Vladimir Putin especially the whole ex-KGB. He’s been known to walk around shirtless and for having a sporty outdoor tough nature guy look. He has a history of news and public critics getting killed or dying in mysterious ways that try to speak out against him.
Personally don’t know much about his public image in Russia but he’s practically been a meme since the early 2010s lol

A lot of reactors go through the whole series of Epic Rap Battles of History, and reactions to them usually get lots of views too.
The guys who make them usually go by the stage names of "Nice Peter" and "Epic Lloyd". My understanding is that they are both Americans, but Nice Peter is of Russian descent.
As some have already mentioned, there is another battle of Russian interest: "Alexander the Great versus Ivan the Terrible". Also, looking at your other videos, you seem to like comedians, so you may also like "George Carlin versus Richard Pryor". After that, I would suggest just searching their playlist for other people you are familiar with.

Basic russian history is taught in the US enough to know all the characters in the rap battle.
I've been watching Epic Rap Battles of History for years. They go in depth, and this one is still one of my favorites. It inspired a rabbit hole of study over the ending of the Romanov dynasty I hadn't touched since high school.

This is a great way to learn history adult or child! As told do know the history as years ago had a Russian girlfriend learned a lot sharing our history and culture! what i learned about the russian revolution from my family in greece was that if leon trotsky became the leader after lenin instead of stalin, russia would have been on their way towards a new style of democratic socialism that would have been much better for the russian people and that's one of the reasons why stalin tried to make trotsky look like a traitor to the russian people . please let me know if that's right.

Alright my comrade, you know me by now and WTF was that? LOL. However, my ears did not bleed tis time. stay you my friend!
They are always doing crazy stuff on Epic Rap Battles of history. But it's more like a diss battle than actual learning I think. They also did like Darth Vader vs Hitler (3 parts actually) or Bill Gates vs Steve Jobs, James Bond vs Austin Powers. These are some of the best battles I can think of now on there. Some is historic but most is just diss battle really with part realty, part fiction characters often also from different eras, but maybe have something in common.
I love history and really enjoyed this. You didn't seem to recognize Putin at first. I'm surprised because he always seems to have his shirt off and riding a horse.

Epic Rap Battles of History is great fun. The main focus was originally American History, but quickly expanded to all sorts of topics. I really like "Western Philosophers vs Eastern Philosophers".

First time viewer here, but if you enjoyed this I would recommend checking out more Epic Rap Battles of History as they're all pretty amazing and a great way to build up your channel. Also, my only critique would be to get your video synced up with what you're watching as it was all out of sync and really distracting.

Great reaction, Irina. My question is this: As someone that has lived in Russia and the United States, what is your opinion on Putin? In the US, we only see News Channels' takes on him. Is he really a comical figure that fights bears but rules with an iron fist. Or is the Russian populace's opinion of him more subtle?
For instance, I know that other country's, at least in western Europe, had a similar reaction to Trump as more than half of the US's population. Is Putin pretty much what we think or do we see a skewed version of the facts?

Interesting to see Russian reaction of american’s depiction of Russian history. I think you may find it interesting to react to the movie or clips of Death of Stalin. It’s a recent dark comedy from the UK. It may be offensive to Russians but I wouldn’t know

I don’t really have much to add but, Baryshnikov was played by PewDiePie. ERB is a great channel who’s been around on RUclips for a decade now IIRC.(at least the concept)

Last guy was Putin. He talks about how he's ex-KGB. They also make reference to the fact that many of his public critics ended up dying in violent and mysterious ways with the comment "the last guy to come at me me, lived a half-life". It's also a reference to nuclear power. :-)

It is said that the Germans wanted to exchange him for a German general captured by the sovetians, but Stalin replied that he did not exchange a soldier for a general (in my opinion rightly in this case).
There are also rumors that an exchange was thought, for Hitler's nephew, Leo Rudolf Raubal Jr. captured by the soveticians during the battle of Stalingrad.
While Stalin's son, Jakov Džugašvili dies in a German concentration camp, Hitler's nephew Leo Rudolf Raubal Jr. was spared by the sovetics, who freed him in 1955 along with the last German prisoners of war.

all those 5 characters were played by just 2 guys.
the ones who created the series and who do most characters in it.
they do a lot of research for each episode.
most of them are extremely good. a few are average.
some of my personal favourites(yours will of course vary) are:
einstein vs hawking
tesla vs edison
biden vs drumpf
ghandi vs mlk
spielberg vs hitchcock
ghostbusters vs mythbusters
and plenty of others.

The most important thing to know/realize about Epic Rap Battles of History is that it isn't serious. It was never meant to be serious. It's a funny take on rap battles. While many ERB videos are all about real history (and they do their research!), that was never the point. The irony in the name they chose is obvious when you realize that the first ERB was Adolph Hitler (a historical figure) vs. Darth Vader (a fictional character). There are several other examples of ERB videos with fictional characters. The characterization of the people in ERB videos (if/when they are real historical figures) is more about the impression people have of them (true or not) looking back, more than it is about the reality of who they were or what they did.
Russian history was taught in English schools at least modern Russian history, St Petersburg was a great place to go on holiday, i loved it.
