- How to replace the castor hub bearings
McGuire Bearing sells the replacements
Part# 6002-2RS. (Or OEM part# B110)
On this chair, all 16 of the bearings are the same.. 2 per castor wheel, and 2 per castor hub

Nice video. If you want to try this, instead of the allen wrench to tap the bearings out, I use a set of pin punches from Harbor Freight. 5 different sizes for only $10.
I believe the spec is 13.3 in/lbs torque and blue Loctite.
Another helpful video.
I prefer a socket wrench socket of an accommodating size, an extender for that wrench, and a heavy ballpeen hammer.
Thank you, you are Awesome!
Thank you
I want to see how this is done on a Q1450
What kind of bearings are installed in small wheels? Thank!
trying to remember.. i *think* therye the same... but ill have to look it up
Hey Mate, I’m trying to do something similar on my Magic V6. My bearing seems to be seized. What is the best way to get my wheel off to change the bearing?
ya - sometimes those bearings explode in there! should just be able to remove the castor stem bolt and drop everything out. ill check and see if i have a video on the main channel about it
this video shows ya how to remove the castor wheels.. they're a bit strange! lol ruclips.net/video/hmVFGXRTy4U/видео.html
i have 2 questions first one is if you get the chance to try out a 6 wheel chair will you do a review on it and the next question is can you try hook a car light or a motorcycle light to a power chair and do a walk through on how to do it
ive done a few wheelchair reviews over on my main channel. here's a link to the playlist page - scroll down a bit and youll see "wheelchair reviews"
as far as lights, i have done any 'how to' videos yet - been having some issues with manufacturers, and trying not to "void' peoples warranties..
I see that bearings have additional letters after them, e.g. 6002 2RSJEM, 6002 2RS EMQ, 6002-2RS C3 RMBP--the last one is $5-6 each. The others are more. Anyone know which one is best?
Things like RS rubber seal, JEM means Steel cage..... Its best just to replace with the exact same bearing. Or use the same size stainless steel with a rubber seal. They will be expensive.
Its very important! Some bearings like angular contact bearings will need to be fitted the right way round. They might be used on larger outdoor chairs.
sudden realignment of casters at slow speed its like the
'brakes" are on; at faster speed it realiigns nicely but ends with rapid uncontrollable swerve any advice?

this video might help... :^). ruclips.net/video/C0Lr_YIMUck/видео.html
@@myshoeisonfire thanks. that's right onpoint. i need to follow that up
Who sells the front casters?
not sure - haven't had to replace them yet... but it wouldn't surprise me if they're Permobil specific!
is m5 same size
the newer chairs use different tires.. they're shaped a bit differently.. BUT i * think * the bearings are the same size....
Need some help....
My wife is having an issue with a Merits P710 chair. The bearings are super cheap in quality. They are of the type used on a bicycle handlebar. They are $25 a set. She just had them replaced. Took 3 months because the parts were on backorder. (I call BS...bicycle type parts on backorder? Yeah, right...) she got it back from the shop last tuesday after the bearings failing in December and the chair was picked up in January. (This is a new chair, she just got it August, 2020...no outside usage, no abuse...just used inside the house.)
Started having problems again this past friday. Today, the chair shat out that bearing again.
Has anyone replaced the bearings on this chair before?? Is there an alternate bearing type?? Part numbers, please???
They usually use standard bearing sizes.. if ya can pull one out and take a look there should be some numbers or identifying marks stamped on them if they aren’t too damaged.. in portland I use McGuire bearing.. but should be suppliers online that can get pretty much anything :-)once ya have the part numbers ya can usually find some better quality ones.. and they’re pretty inexpensive from industrial suppliers!
