Paying a “dealer markup” on any car is insane especially given the current state of things in the US. The Toyota Supra in particular has GREATLY depreciated in value since releasing in 2020. @@CR-qu5jc they do not take pre orders. They put your name on a list and if they happen to get an allocation then they call you. What I mean is I wish Toyota would do “build to order” and your car gets built with what you want, shipped to the dealer, etc.

You can buy out of state. You just have to bring it to California and register it here. Take it and get it smogged and the DMV has to look at all the VIN#s. I bought my Supra in Nevada at under MSRP
This is how things stand legally: “Yes, a dealer markup is legal no matter where you buy your car-the amount is dealer specific- but dealers must post a vehicle's MSRP in addition to their price.”
My argument is that it's archaic in a digital/internet world. Some brands have imposed limitations, but dealers have started running the odometer and selling "new" cars as used once they hit 500 mile to avoid said stipulation from "x" brand. If a car can't meet demand, the brand should simply increase MSRP to put it more in line with competitors, but they wont since it draws people in the door. @@alekscarguy5153
