Beyerdynamic DT 700 ProX Indepth Review: The Best Studio Headphones for Audiophiles?

- The Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X aren’t exactly new, they were launched last year but I’ve only just managed to get my hands on them. I wasn’t too sure about wanting to spend time with these since I do prefer open back headphones for music listening pleasure but decide to bite the bullet since there were a lot of people talking quire highly about them.
The DT 700 Pro X doesn’t disappoint when it comes to its build quality at all. In fact its a big step up from its previous generation products. Beyerdynamic has built these from the ground up, there are no parts on these that have been taken from any previous part bins and it shows when you handle them.
The DT 700 Pro X has a sound to match is premium build. Its tight and composed no matter what you throw at it and not only does it make for a great set of studio headphones but it's also great for music consumption if you like listening to closed back headphones. I think the closed backs contribute to how these handle their lower frequencies. These are tuned to have a flat response in the bass region but they sure do have terrific extension and body.
If you’d like to buy these headphones I’m providing its links below.

Beautifully done
I love the photography skills, thinks for taking the time to share your opinion with these cans. I am considering getting these.
great review, thank you
great review style
For music these are so much better than the DT 770 pros easily one of the best closed backs. Comparing the 700s to the 900s I prefer the 900s any day, but the sound is similar.
A superb review! Fantastic! I’m a proud owner of all the headphones in the Beyer classic pro range and I love all of them but most of all my DT 770 Pro 80 ohms! It happens to be the most neutral of the entire classic models equalled only by the DT 880 pro. I was patiently awaiting to buy both the Pro X headphones sometime in the future but Paul has just seduced me to the max with his charming personality and his intelligent review of these beautiful headphones to go Ka Ching! with my wallet. Three cheers for Paul! Hip! Hip! Hip! Hurray!!!
🤣
@@PaulsPOV 😍🥰😘☺️ eagerly awaiting your review of the DT 900 Pro X!!
I've heard them at the Headphone Connect event and fell for them. I did receive a unit to review from Beyerdynamic but something seemed off with them so I sent them back. I'll hopefully get my hands on a new set soon. Very keen on reviewing them too.
@@PaulsPOV Good to see you finally review the DT700s man. We talked about both the Pro X headphones a few days back and you had high praises for them.
@@PaulsPOV Are you gonna review Tygr 300R and MMX300 too??
Heard a lot about these two Beyer headsets
Brilliant 👍 A Wonderful Diwali Gift from your side 🌹🕯️
Love the videos. Good work. 🤌🏾
Thank you for a comprehensive review! I am very impressed with the reviews that I've read about Schiit products and they have great value! How does the 770 ProX compare to the ATH-M50X?
I've not spent much time with the M50X but did enjoy the little bit of listening I did with it. If I remember right, the Beyerdynamic does hold more detail. I think it's more transparent sounding than the M50X, so it would be a better studio set to use for edits, and I think the M50X has a flatter bass response, too. I could be wrong, though. It's been a while since I've listened to these headphones.
@@PaulsPOV Thank you!
The Best Studio Headphones for Audiophiles...
That is a bold claim!
Thank you as always and Greetings from Germany
PS: 249€ here in Germany
Hi Matthias, where do you get the prices from? I check Amazon.de.
Another great audio store is ‘Thomann’. You can set the currency to any country plus they also ship to India. By the way Beyerdynamic now has an online store for India!
Nice, it will work on electric guitars too. *add to wishlist when there's enough in the bank (Ok I really didn't know how big they were)
If you hook them upto an amp they'll work. Yup, they're big headphones!
Excellent review, however if you're a fan of open-back, why didn't you get the 900 Pro X instead?
I noticed the unit that came to me had an issue with it so it wouldn't have been fair to review them. I sent them back and got these instead. Will get my hands on the 900 sometime for certain. I've heard them very briefly and quite liked them.
Yea, strange that they weren't tested before coming to me. Other people had reviewed them, maybe they were mishandled. I heard them once at a headphone connect event and fell for them. Very tempted to own a pair myself but will decide for certain after I get to spend some more time with them.
Have you tried samsung earbuds live? It currently cost Rs.4400 originally launched @16k and how does it compete with earphones in 5k range now?
I've been hearing a lot of good things about Samsung earphones lately. Considering reviewing them soon.
@@PaulsPOV Yes its been the talk of the town now. Waiting for your review especially 🤍 Thanks for your quick reply . Love your videos ❤️
is the 1770 pro worth it if you have the 700 pro x
You'll be dealing with diminishing returns but if I remember them right, they are much sharper with detail recovery. Imaging and staging is a bit better.
i read the 1770 are more for production, not too fun unlike the 700/770. I learned my lesson after buying DJ headphones to watch movies and listen music, the HD25, since im not a DJ they sound rather terrible to me, and uncomfortable. With that I wouldnt get the 1770 if youre looking for leisure and not professional use, if the reviews are correct
👌🏼👌🏼
Is it comfortable for people with eyeglasses?
Quite!
Thanks@@PaulsPOV
Anyone please suggest me awesome earbuds tws with great mic quality for calls and good sound and comfortable for ears under 5k as nothing ear 1 n now nothing sticks are costing 8k, please do suggest some options it would be great
Hi Vivek, I've done a review on 6TWS earphones. Have a look at that, the call chapter will give you an idea of how each of them perform for calls.
Hope it helps.
@@PaulsPOV have seen your video, please just suggest me between realme buds 2 vs oppo enco air 2 pro vs LG FP5 but they are currently available at around 8k they are still worth to buy at this price and please just suggest any buds around 4-5k range which are best considering price as nothing are almost 8k now. Im so much confused , please just suggest me what you feel are good.
I havent tested the realme buds 2, I've tested the Realme Buds Air 3 and also compared them to the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro in a review.
The LG are superior on a sound front compared to any other TWS earphones I've tested. The only place they're not as good is the ANC.
The oppo enco air 2 pro would be my choice in the sub 4k price range. I haven't tested too many earphones in that range but I do prefer it's sound to the Realme Buds Air 3.
Nothings are a little too expensive now and the LG FP5 certainly sound better than them at a similar price.
The JBL230NC is also a nice pair to own and a reasonable price.
Depending on your budget, I'd say the oppo enco air 2 pro for sub 4k is good.
JBL230NC for sub 5.5k
LGFP5 for sub 7.2k. (Seeing this price on Amazon right now)
Thankyou so much for such comprehensive explanation, ordering oppo enco air 2 pro right now!!
DeeDee got there before I did.
vs 900 pro X
I havent had a chance to listen to the two back to back, but from what I remember the 900 Pro X to be, I prefer them. I prefer open backs to closed any day. They have better staging and imaging if I remember right.
@@PaulsPOV thanks
