every boys dream girl growing up in that era......i mean look at her......and a musical talent with the voice of an angel.....and a kind wonderful soul....RIP ONJ
Olivia's voice was perfect for that song, she had one of the best voices ever 💙🙏
Olivia was my crush as a boy back in the 70's , and she's still my crush over 40 years later
i was very young 6 or 8 i can't remember, the one thing I will never forget when she walked out in that black suit at the end of Greece it changed me - just saying!
Mine too. She never stopped being beautiful. 😉
I discovered her seeing Xanadu in the theater when I was 9. I’ve loved her ever since.
The first woman I ever loved.
She was so captivating and mesmerizing. Such a sexy voice. I think the world was in love with her.
Hopelessly devoted, you mean.... ;)
I was and am! Yer man wants his other half to feel that, too. Whether she does it debatable.
Revisiting this….for obvious reasons….RIP and sing with the the other angels.
One of the greatest female vocalists of all time - RIP Olivia
Not forgetting Judith Durham who also sadly died a week ago.😥
RIP you beautiful woman .
Olivia was a goddess. Top 50 performer of all time. I think this is the first reaction I ever saw which involved a beautiful woman. Kel looks a little jealous. Haha.
Meh, Kel has zero reason to be jealous. Yes, Olivia is a goddess, I wanted to look like her, sing like her, etc.. when I was younger (very young, actually, lol). I think Kel was just enjoying Rich's "school boy" reaction to Olivia. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not even, Kel is definitely built to last lol...Kel is a sweetheart, I appreciate her innocence for sure...GO GET EM KEL!!? 💖
I'm 53 and I never saw Grease, but this is a magical song....and I Love it. I think I have Xandu in my dvd library.
Are you kidding??
We need more of Olivia Newton John! She was incredible! Love ELO!!
In Australia she was an absolute legend and still is! So many hits and someone we were proud of! A class act all the way!
What a voice. Olivia has such style and grace and makes it all look effortless.
This is my favorite ONJ video! Every time I see this I fall in love with her all over again! She is gorgeous at this time in her life!
You listed some facts about Olivia Newton-John, but forgot to mention one: She is the granddaughter of Max Born, a German-Jewish Physicist who helped develop quantum theory in the 1920's, 30's, and 40's. He received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1954.
So maybe that's why she did the song Physical, lol.
@@alrivers2297 nice!!!
@@alrivers2297 What?
@@johnkatsoudas4767 Nice what?
hence her chosen name Olivia "Newton" John
Good grief I wanted to marry Olivia as a young man in the late 70s and 80s. She was a complete goddess to me. Angelic voice, nuclear sexy and perfect. I'll never forget ONJ.
oh she's beautiful and i love her voice, never heard this song before..both of you are cute together, great reaction!
Olivia Newton John was my boyhood crush! She has everything 😍 ❤
Unfortunately She is now Stage IV, The cancer has moved down to her lower back.... at 71, she certainly has seen it all. ONJ Was a "Staple" back in the late 70s early 80s. One VERY Beautiful woman..... a subtle cheers from Ottawa.
😥 she was one of my first crushes.
so sad! 😢😢😢
ELO had numerous hits on that album "All over the world","I'm Alive","The Fall" and my favorite "Don't walk away"
I loved the animated cartoon for the song Dont walk away. Don Bluth is a master animator cartoonist. My favorite as well.
R.I.P. Olivia😢💔🙏
Just found your page today as I am mourning this legendary lady. Lots of reactions to her on RUclips now and I'm glad yours came up. You guys are awesome! You got a new subscriber today! Looking forward to checking out your other reactions!❤
This is my favorite song of hers.
Olivia Newton John is easily one of my all time favorite singers ever!! I am mostly a Heavy Metal fan but I do love other genres alot also. I love Pat Benator, Abba, Fleetwood Mac, and many others. When I was a little kid my mom is the person that got me into Olivia Newton John. She would watch a HBO special concert back in the early 80's and that is what got me into her music. Magic had always been my favorite song of hers, and I have always loved Living In Desperate Times, Xanadu, Heart Attack, Twist Of Fate, Jolene, and many , many more. Her singing has always been very sexy to me and she is still as Gorgeous as she has always been.
I grew up in the Newcastle area where her father was a professor at Newcastle University. She gave the whole area pride in itself when she finally made it. She is now a national icon here in Australia and is universally loved.
Someone might have mentioned this, but Magic and Xanadu were two years after Grease, not the same year. Also worth mentioning, is that she is now on her third bout with cancer, and was made a Dame by the Queen this past January. You should do a deep dive on all she has done for breast cancer awareness and research since she was first diagnosed in 1992. She is an amazing humanitarian!
ONJ ... my favourite is ' A Little More Love'.
Richard
Me too
@@felipenunez3995 me three ,great song
That has been a favorite of mine since forever ago...
Me makes fifth. 🎶👋🎧
This was Olivia's Babe peak to me. Still the girl next door but she stepped up the sex swag in 1979-80 for sure.
I'd forgotten how great of a singer she was and how beautiful. Thank you for the reminder.
Xanadu i was a kid but I had a huge crush on Olivia especially in roller skates with leg warmers and the sun dress, she is gorgeous. I think every boy and man had a crush on her. A true muse/goddess if there ever was one.
I absolutely love how you are FEELING this song and how it is obviously affecting BOTH of you.
You are both filled with happiness while listening... the same way I felt when Olivia originally sang this song so many years ago.
Thank you for posting this video and bringing a smile to my face!
God bless you both, and God bless Olivia! ♥
Olivia Neutron Bomb exploded on the scene...
This was great...
So many memories...
Thanks for sharing your love...
And humor...
Great to see you commenting as much as you do. We love doing this. 💃🏻🕺❤️
Now you know you have to have Kel listen to "Hopelessly Devoted to You" by Olivia!!!
The live version from the '79 Oscars, when she performed it flawlessly with a 103 degree fever!
Love that song, when I was much younger I could sing ONJ songs note for note, and no kidding just as good; she sang songs that were easy to sing...
Omg Olivia is soo dreamy!
As a drummer just learning about them during that time period, this song always made me wonder how they did what they did on this track. What Kel is describing is a slapback echo delay on the snare drum. Each 'normal' 2 and 4 hit had a millisecond delay on it that gives it the syncopation you're talking about so instead of just a quarter note hit on 2 and 4 that everyone is always used to, each 2 and 4 sounded like 2 16th notes. The bigger thing that I didn't figure out for a long time is the dual hi hat tracks going on that are different in each ear. If you pan your headphones to one side, you'll hear just a 'straight eigth' note pattern, while if you pan to the other side, you''ll hear a 'galloping' type hi hat pattern. The two together play tricks with your ears - especially with headphones on.
A Little More Love is also a fantastic ONJ song. My favorite from her.
That and "Deeper Than The Nighr",
Thank you guys. That was another one of my late mothers favorite songs. It makes me feel that she is still with me. So thank you both.
This was 1980, 2 years after grease, 1 yr b4 physical.
Olivia Newton John represented the UK in the Eurovision song contest, it was either the late 60's or the very early 70's. I remember her singing for us even though she was Australian. I know that she lived in England in those days. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Not to take away from ONJ, but using that scene from The Cannonball Run showing Adrienne Barbeau, Tara Buckman and Valerie Perrine was indeed magic.
3 incredibly delectable ladies for sure!
Not even close to ONJ!!!!
Her voice is angelic!
This video is 2 years old. Sadly Olivia just passed away in 2022. Such a loss for this world. A beautiful lady with so much to give. R.I.P. ivis.
While most of my friends had the Farrah poster on their walls I had Olivia..lol.
LOVE. THAT. SONG. Please do A Little More Love. thanks.
When ONJ looked into the camera and said she "Honestly Loved me", I was just a total mess for three months. lol
Such a beauty inside and out 💕
I so miss you both. Hope all is well. Sincere best wishes to you both.
Olivia had that rare innocent and effortless sexiness that was hard to resist. With a mom that beautiful, her daughter developed such a physical complex that she can't stop messing with her face. Such a shame cause she was quite a pretty girl but I guess the comparisons to her mom got to her.
Sir, your woman is IN LOVE WITH YOU! The way she looks at you while you sing to yourself. Congrats man.
I am truly blessed with her and to be by her side. Thank you!
R ❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏
I got the news today....Olivia has left us. Rest in Peace, beautiful lady.
My dad used to listen to this when I was a kid, I loved it and seeing you react and review is beyond awesome!!! You two are magic together!! Saying his from small town Canada again!! Keep rocking!!
Hi Kel-Rich,. Love the older music, and Olivier Newton -John. I am an Aussie and from the 80s vintage. We exported heaps of talent back then: INXS, AC/DC, men at work (Land Down under) The Angels, Little River Band, The Bee Gees ect ect; also Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Mel Gibson and Russel Crowe! Not bad for 24 million population! I went to school with INXS and they used to play in the school band, not too popular at school, but look what happened with them! Keep up the good work, I hear you guys are doing it tough over there with the recent riots and COVID; hang in there! We are your oldest allies and know that our mates in the US can pull through this! All the best from ‘Big daddy’ down under Australia 🇦🇺
Some people forget she is English, born in Cambridge 1948. What a talent 😎
Went to one of her live concerts when she first started to hit the top of the music charts. What struck me, was not only how beautiful she was, but she actually sang all her songs live and she sounded just as good as her recordings. Her vocals were pure and true without any fake prop up crap. She could hit all the notes clear as a bell. I was impressed as H.
Rest Peacefully Olivia.
One of my favorites of hers too! ONJ is amazing! And she has had an amazing career. Cool to see you expand into a bit of 70's pop.
I love your reactions, you have such chemistry. Have loved Olivia since I was young, almost everything she has done, even country songs. The whole Xanadu soundtrack, which this is a part of, I just the best. Her and ELO, what a pairing on an album.
You guys are hitting some of my all-time favorites here recently. Kudos!
Olivia was and is a great singer and performer and was and is - hands down - a truly beautiful and kind woman. I hope she's doing well.
Very glad I landed on this today. You guys are a refreshing couple, talking about the beautiful ONJ. 🇨🇦✌️
Shw was goofing around in her home town years ago and everyone who greated her found her to be sweet and approachable, she never put on any airs and talked to them about them, always authentic so when she took the stage, she commanded it and no 1 cared if she was lypcynking or not, they just ate up her show.
Glad you guys are getting through this with enough umph to keep making videos. They are appreciated as are the two of you.
One of the best things about this song is the lyrics and meaning. People hearing it as just a song (without context of the movie) hear a seductive love song. But thinking of a muse inspiring an artist or bard casting a protective spell, it takes on a meaning of hope and strength that transcends love.
You guys are awesome!!! More ONJ please!!!
I enjoyed seeing your love for each other, including the gentle teasing. The music is indeed magic, but so are you two :)
This was written by John Farrar. As with Hopelessly Devoted to You etc.
I am watching now you guys don't know how happy you just made me!
Check your old files I requested this song A few times.
Thank you! Great wake up song!!
In the early 80s I loved going to the roller rink and hear Magic playing over the speakers and just cruising around the rink. Cheers from Arizona. Huge ELO and Olivia fan.
My very favorite ONJ song ever is "A little more love"
Stay gold Pony...and not referring to Solid Gold either!
Magic was released in May of 1980. Olivia filmed and recorded Grease in the summer of 1977 and the film debuted in 1978. So, Magic was three years later and a single from the movie/soundtrack of Xanadu. Between the films she released the album Totally Hot, which was a move toward a more pop/rock sound for her. It's a great album!
Oh yes this is such a great song. I loved the first time I heard an extended version of it on youtube.
I remember hearing a lot of her music when I was 5 yrs old. My mom would be doing stay at home mom things while this was playing on the stereo in the living room and I'd hear it along with a whole bunch of late 70's and early 80's rock and pop hits. Thank you so much Mom for all of the great music that always brings me right back home, 😁❤👍
Im a HARDCORE metalhead but.... there are some songs from other genres that just have such a effing groove you cant help but to love it. I consider myself lucky to have been born in '71 and got to grow up hearing the best songs from all genres ever recorded.
Xanadu album was split in two- B-side were the ELO songs and A-side ONJ and Cliff Richard (if you remember him) and Gene kelly of course. BTW: Olivia sang at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic games. Awesome duet with John Farnham. Worth to listen to. Greetings from Germany.
Kel...you are KILLING me right now! LOL!!!
You guys are great and fun together. Keep up the great videos. I am writing this at 4:35am.👏🔔🎩🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍!!!!!!
ONJ is really cute and her voice is so sweet. My favorite is "Soul kiss". So sensual
Yes, more old school radio stuff as well please and thank you!!!
Recently watched Xanadu again for the umpteenth time and enjoy it just as much as the first time. Olivia Newton John was an amazing and gorgeous performer. I really enjoy your reaction videos especially Maiden!
A lovely song, one that brings back a lot of great memories for me.
Very insightful reaction. ONJ was one of those artists that just makes it look so easy. Whata great talent. I enjoyed your interpretation of the song.
The woman on the right has got a passion for the man on the left that will never be quenched. I've always said soul mates is one soul divided into two; when the two souls become one as The Most High intended that's when you find true love. The couple on screen are living proof of my words.
ONJ is simply H.A.F !
She has an amazing voice !
Great to see this, and Rich, gotta tell ya mate, she was looking at me, not you ha ha ha ha !
Metal lerv from down under \m/ \m/
ONJ was my first crush... boy did I have good taste ! 👌🏻
Love you guys!
I love you guys as i love this song
She was amazing I watched on a HBO special my dad stop in his tracks and said that's my new girlfriend, I was like keep walking old man. She got all the men's attention in those days. She was a role model for the beautiful chicks and every teens wet dream.
Women today can learn what a women could be to a man. Encouraging and sweet.
A guy would fight to the death for this kind of stuff.
When Men were Men and Women were Women.
I'm with you Rich! Grew up around the same time. I named my daughter Olivia!
This was one of John Lennon’s favourite songs in the months before he died. He said so in an interview.
Rich, you are a lucky man. You can see the way Kel looks at you during the song, she loves you, she honestly loves you!
Funny listening to this brought a tear or two to my eyes. I realized how old I am, (16 at the time) and how time has flown by
Love her, what’s not to love!!! 😎👍👏👏👏👏
Her vocal mix was so interesting on this song....
No....she was pointing at me lol....Rest in sweet peace Miss Olivia Newton John....she always and forever is my first boyhood crush!
Sun kissed, skinny, blond bleached...and talented! There was no match for her back the day.
I think every male young and old loved ONJ at that time. Cheesy movie but such a great soundtrack that I still listen to and keep in my shuffle. First time I saw the movie was in '81 toward the end of my eighth year. The neighbor that had been taking care of my sister and I during the day let us pick out one movie each from the video store. I picked out The Black Hole and my sister picked out Xanadu. The ELO songs are some of their best.
Oh the look on Kel's face!
lol. Yeah. She's like "ok, get this babe off the video"
I've bumped into her quite a few times here in Australia over the years and she's just as she seems. A really nice person with a goofy sense of humour.
Kel's words about rock stars having trials, especially ONJ, have more meaning now.
Love that you guys did this song is like to see you throw in some song that would be considered soft rock or popish maybe throw some in here and there mix it up a little and I love this song!! Olivia 😁💖👌
You two are so in love...ONJ is the perfect catalyst to show that.
This was a great blast from the past. ONJ's Greatest Hits Vol 2. was the first record I had when I was 8 and I used to stare at the cover for hours. It was funny seeing Kel clearly not happy with how enamored Rich was/is with Olivia Newton-John (haha!) Rich and I are about the same age so I am sure it is a first crush kind of thing when you are a child. Anyway, as much as I liked this I wonder if you would ever do 2 ONJ reactions (or if Kel would let you...ha) and the title track to Xanadu with the clip from the movie would have been so much more satisfying. It is total disco, roller skate cheese but so much fun at the same time. Cheers.
My crush on her was when she first came out . . . early 70's . . . I'm a freshman! "I Honestly Love You" was the song.
FYI: XANADU was 1980, not 1978.
Olivia is the best pop female vocals forever !!
