Olivia neutron bomb is the only reason the “extraterrestrials” might not pass by earth without stopping. The rest of us aren’t worthy.
And this song is epic.....
Olivia Newton John was the "IT" girl during the late 70s and early 80s. Not crass, not vulgar, but hot and attractive. The kind of woman who can make any man do anything.
She was the perfect of girl next and smoking hot at the same time yet always done with absolute class and grace. RIP sweet angel
Olivia Newton- John one of the greatest! She is a real real singer
I agree. She’s great.
Probably one of the classiest if not the classiest artist of all time and an absolutely a lovely lady
Very sad today to hear that Olivia Newton John has lost her 30 year battle with cancer. You made all our lives richer. Rest in peace.
Olivia is one of the best female pop singers of all time 🌈
This woman was a gift to this world with her beautiful voice. Rip
Lol 'your jaw dropped when the video started, she is stunning!!!
Her voice sounds like an Angel! She looks like an Angel! So ladylike and pure!
Well, this is the sexy Olivia of the 80's. You should check out the more innocent Olivia of the 70s.
The Queen of My heart
ONJ and John Farrah were an amazing collaboration.
This song, ABBA’s Take a Chance On Me, Star Wars, The Muppets, and KISS are my earliest memories.
This song gets you in a trance as it goes along.
I can tell u were mesmerized by Olivia Newton John. Trust me you weren't the only one. She was the definition of beautiful.
I love his facial features watching the video ...she is just gorgeous
Love Olivia Newton John. An incredibly beautiful singer and woman and a good soul.
Just a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. No soft core video to sell it. Proper talent
Stunning was the best word to describe Olivia. Beauty, voice, talent, person. Whole package. RIP
Omg, you have to watch her movie, Xanadu!! It’s an old cheesy movie, but if you like Olivia Newton John, the movie is almost a necessity to experience. The movie is just how you’ve described this song.
Best sound track and a guilty pleasure!
Xanadu is a bit of a cult classic and a must see for any ONJ fan. She's delightful; at the top of her game.
Of course, this song went straight to #1 on the pop charts in the US. Such a cool vibe.
I came here since ONJ just passed away, just trying the enjoy her past work. Your reaction to seeing her perform was priceless. I could tell you were blown away by her stag presence. She had it all back in the day. RIP ONJ.
RIP Olivia, forever my muse.
Part of Magic’s magic if you like is that French augmented 6th chord. It sounds flat but it isn’t so it adds pathos and that otherworldly effect you were alluding you . Add the wailing guitar and the Pom Pom groove top that off with Olivia’s fantastically sonic vocal and you have a masterpiece of a pop song that has lost none of its sizzle in 40 years!
I didn’t totally understand the what you said, but it sounds right and I love it. It’s true, I still love this song for 40 years now
I love Olivia! "A Little More Love" and "Make a Move On Me" are also good dance pop songs of hers from the 80s.
This is from the movie Xanadu. She played a Muse for a guy to build his dream roller disco business. Such a great movie with tons of music and dancing.
@Kasian Hyronne John Farrar wrote four of Olivia’s #1 US hits including “Have You Never Been Mellow”, “You’re The One That I Want”, “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, and “Magic”. He is an Australian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. He was also in many bands including The Shadows. A phenomenal talent in his own right.
I never really thought of ONJ as being sexy, until recently, watching some of her videos. You are so right about her performance, so sensual. Maybe that’s a big reason why I love this song, the sensual vibes.
ONJ is the best. Always love her and her music. Thanks for sharing. Another sexy one is "I Need Love"
@Kasian Hyronne John Farrar wrote many of Olivia's #1 hits, including.. Magic, Have You Never Been Mellow, You're the One That I want, and Hopelessly Devoted To You. He also produced most of her material during that period, including her first American #1 hit, I Honestly Love You and he co-produced the soundtrack for the movie Grease. He is an amazing musician and songwriter.
She was absolutely beautiful ❤️
So much better than the music of today! Love Olivia! 😸
i like imagining bjork had olivia's "magic" in mind when she wrote "come to me"
She was on top of the charts around the world for @ 15 years. As one critic put it: "Olivia was a kinder, gentler Madonna". It was a great time for pop music.
It's an amazing song! my favorite by her. Loved your reaction, she has that effect on people, she was magical and spellbinding, a stunning beauty, but above all an awesome, talented and inspirational lady. May she RIP, she's forever an unforgettable icon.
I'm surprised that you've never heard this song. It spent four weeks at #1 in the summer of 1980 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is one of her most recognizable hits. In 1978, after the mega success of Grease, her music took a distinctive shift from adult contemporary to straight up pop, starting with her Totally Hot album (check out A Little More Love and Deeper Than The Night), all the way through 1988's The Rumor album. After that ten year pop arc, she started making more niche music, projects that were meaningful to her, but not necessarily super commercial, like Warm & Tender (a lullaby album), and Gaia. She's an incredibly versatile artist, and yes, she is stunningly gorgeous, even today at 71 years old. And now she is a Dame!
They never play her on the radio. She and Barbra Streisand my favorites back then but they never play them anymore!
@@edithcarter3554 Radio? What's that? LOL. I haven't listened to the radio in years. Pandora, Spotify, and my own library is all I listen to.
Wow! Wonderful comments. I've been a fan of Olivia from the very beginning. Her new duet with Paul Anka (put your heal on my shoulder is great).
@@IBGECKO yeah the wireless is so last century
This was on the sound track of her movie "Xanadu". It's been a long time, but I think she played a Muse who came to Earth in the 1980's. The title song she sand was "Xanadu". The movie wasn't well received, but I remember the title song being played a lot.
That album had a lot of hits for her & ELO
The 80’s were a magical time.. I love ONJ then and in 2021
She's saying we are all magical beings and she's here to guide you along to discover your innate powerful energy. I didn't understand it when I was a teenager back then but now I totally get it. She's an angel sent from heaven.
Xanadu was the very first movie I went to the movie theater to watch. Wow, did I just date myself there something fierce. Anywho, it's a total cheese fest but SOOOOOO worth the watch. The music was and is incredible, Don Bluth's animation is still my fave from that era, and there's Gene Kelly to boot. What more do you need? Tight ropes, roller skates and murals that come to life? Gotcha covered. Olivia is simply angelic.
I didn't think it was 'cheesy' at all! One of my favorite movies of all time!
Her glow & swagger are second to none
The word is sultry
It's not every day you see someone so beautiful and yet perfection as a singer as well. There was no pitch correction or Autotune in those days, You had to be able to cut it not only in the studio but live. Amazing talent.
loved your reaction! I was watching and thinking to myself "she is so beautiful" and you just said it at the same time LOL
When I saw this at 10 years old on the television...two years after I saw the movie "Grease"....I instantly needed a poster of her on my bedroom wall...but I couldn't find one☹....she was and is forever amazing...thanks for the review.
Olivia is a legend now!
HER BEST SONG!!!!
So beautiful and such an amazing voice... I love her dolphin song...
You are SO right. It is Sensual..Warm..Beautifull , and so full of Olivia.
Watching her video you want her SO much to be your girl...
She is just Perfect.
A mans heart Ache watching her sing....
With the 80s revival today, you may want to check out another of Olivia's hits: "Twist Of Fate" which has an 80's modern rock sound! It peaked at #5 in the US in January 1984. She has an amazing singles catalogue!
I love this song and your reaction. She's a total fox esp in this 😁
Really enjoyed your reaction there. I had basically the same response. She’s incredibly beautiful and that is a cool song. I too have never seen her be so sensual and seductive. Loved it.
I think you would enjoy her song "Xanadu" as well. She is beautiful!
Olivia was ahead of her time 🌈
She and Barbra Streisand I listened to a when I as a kid. Barbra my most favorite and also Olivia.
This song is from the movie Xanadu! It came out in 1980! You should watch it sometime! All the songs are song by her, ELO, Cliff Richard, The Tubes, and Gene Kelly!
This is like a dream come to life on video. Nicely done, Olivia, very nicely done. :)
The look on your face during the first 15 seconds is priceless. 😅
Cutest lady with the most lovely voice and personality ever in pop music.
Hey man, loved this reaction. You encapsulated this song perfectly. It does have this weird, ethereal, otherworldly quality. And she is gorgeous!
Loll Kasian mouth dropped when first saw Olivia singing.
Olivia is the best pop vocals female forever
I’m in love with all the u tubers listing to music that I grew up on. I think I was in mu late teen when I first heard this. Great job...Judy D.
I agree, I was 10 when this came out and I still love it all.
Yes this women is mesmerizing.
It's fun to see your reaction. Olivia's catalogue is so vast and so varied! The Best!
Your'e spot on with your description of this one, as it does feel very space age - which was quite fitting considering it's on the soundtrack to Xanadu which is about a Muse who is not of this earth. Not to mention that her beauty is breathtaking and almost otherworldly :D
She is always beautiful inside and out. Just look at peoe talking about her they all say the same thing, she's exactly like you think she would but more.
I love your facial reaction when she first comes on screen. She really is the most beautiful woman ever!!! 💖
You must watch the Movie Xanadu...this song is from the soundtrack. Everything you described you liked about this performance is in the movie ×10.
She had quite a few songs that were on the sultry side: A Little More Love, Soul Kiss, Tied Up...check 'em out.
"Sam" is inviting an old boyfriend over...
A Little More Love is also a gorgeous, sexy song.
Nice reaction. Another sensual one that's worth checking out is Stranger's Touch. It's a favourite of mine and was a track on her Physical LP from 1981 (it wasn't released as a single, although it would have worked as one). Worth seeking out the video too - it has a cool film noir feel to it.
@Kasian Hyronne this song is from the film Xanadu where Olivia played a Muse, so it is written quite seductively. The film (from 1980) was a flop but the soundtrack album was #2 on the UK album charts en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanadu_(soundtrack)
This was a number #1 hit in America back in 1980. From the Xanadu soundtrack. The movie was a stinker and bombed at the box office (but has achieved a weird sort of cult following in recent years). But the soundtrack is great and produced a bunch of hits for Olivia and ELO.
Wonderful sir, give her another listen with Hopelessly Devoted To You...
OLIVIA WAS ONE HOT WOMAN IN THE 80'S ANS STILL IS TO THIS DAY.
She is one of the most beautiful women ever!! Listen to
“If you love me”
“Let me be there”
“If not for you” 😎🙌
… a piece of my childhood left with Olivia. … every girl wanted to be her growin’ up and every single boy fell in love with her… Rest In Peace Olivia. 🕊 … try the song Twist of Fate. It’s my personal favorite from the second movie she starred with John Travolta called Two of a Kind 💔
Yes, you characterized it well. Sirens.
I heard this soundtrack album (for Xanadu) when it first came out. I bought the movie DVD and the CD. Yes, it was a cheesy 80s movie. The "romantic" lead actor had all the charm of a paper plate, but I thought Olivia did a good job. And I think it was Gene Kelly's last movie. And he looked like he was having fun. I think I read or heard Olivia say he worked her hard on their dance routine. But she did learn to dance. :o)
I absolutely loved your reaction and love for Olivia. She is extremely beautiful, especially when she was younger. Your facial expressions were the best. Great, honest and raw reaction. Believe it or not, its not common amongst all the people doing this kind of thing. Subscribed.
Lovely Reaction!
I was hitting puberty when this came out, GOOD LORD!!!!
O.N.J. was made popular in the U.K. long before Grease. I believe she made some of her first apearences on the Cliff Richard Show. Some may be on youtube. Check out "A Little More Love" or "Sam"
Had such a crush onvthis woman
Great reaction.
This is from her movie Xanadu. If you are a fan of her, you should watch it. She sings a number of great songs in it.
ONJ was a legend. Always will be. The augmented 5th featured so prominently in that song, and rarely ever heard in pop music, really does invoke magic and the supernatural. In Xanadu, Olivia was a muse, Kira, who was trying to influence a mortal man to pursue his artistic dreams. Me, I’d follow ONJ anywhere! The movie was controversial at best, but the soundtrack was amazing. “Magic” was Olivia’s greatest hit. From the dawn of the 1980’s, it really was magic.
Yeah she's pretty awesome..., studio 54 goose bumps right here, magic, no questions.
You really have to understand the idea of this song to understand the words. This was a part of the movie Xanadu; where she played Kira, one of the Nine sister muses. Her propose was to inspire Sonny into creating his own ideas for a night club, while also helping another person who she helped once, who's dreams didn't come true. While skating in an abandoned building; she meets Sonny, with this song playing in the background. It's meant to be foreshadowing of what she is on Earth for. To Bring All His Dreams to Life!
it's a pity; you never got to react to any of her other works. And now that we lost her; it's the perfect time to remember her and her music.
Xanadu...Have you ever been mellow ...hopelessly devoted to you
Hi Kasian! If you were amazed with this song, you have to listen 1981´s Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes" You will remember me! hugs!
I think this is the face I made when I 1st saw Olivia newton john when I was a young teenager............ someone should have slapped the hell out of me 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Watch the movie" xanadu ". She is in it ...... omg
Wow haven’t heard this song in years. I had a huge crush on her growing up!! Ur right, she was a good looking lady. Her vocals were good not great. But .....nice reaction. U funny and make me smile.👍🙏✌️
Her vocals WERE great, like alltime! Are you kidding me? Blast to a high note then land on a pillow better than anybody. Pfft.
No her vocals were great, you are wrong. I sing semi pro and believe me, Olivia was amazing.
She's quite mesmerizing, isn't she? Try checking out another great song from her called Heart Attack.
The song is dreamy and romantic
Her beauty was complete. A wonderful caring person who used her money and influence to protect animals from cruelty and cared for her husband.
The movie wasn't an awesome movie, but it was.. fun. She is in it and yes, she plays a muse. But she has a lot of great songs from it. If you ever get a chance to watch Xanadu, you might enjoy it. I remember it well :) I've always been a big fan of Olivia Newton-John. Now I'm going to watch Xanadu again!
I thought It was and still is a GREAT movie! I watch it several times a year!
You nailed the vibe of the song (and the movie). You really should watch Xanadu.
You should definitely react to “Soul Kiss” by Olivia Newton-John! If you haven’t heard it you might be surprised as well!
Please listen to "Suspended in time" by Olivia NJ. It is even more mesmerising!
VER Y ESCUCHAR A OLIVIA ME TRANSPORTA A OTRA DIMENSIÓN.
This was so huge in 1980. I was 13
