Companies dont want to train but they want to pay experienced workers trainee wages. Its unreal
If they trained the workers 1 month they would have great workers but they are soooo greedy 1 month salary is killer for them. They are a joke.
Yes and then you make tons of mistakes and you get fired.
My wife is a cellular biologist, and she just got laid off with their whole lab being shut down. This is someone who spent half of their lives being educated and the other half in industry. Yeah the job market is shit.
That's another benefit of switching jobs a lot like me, I have experience in a lot of fields. I can do administration, write, do some bookkeeping, some legal work, I can cook, clean, do gardening, frame, draw. But yeah I also struggle to find a part time job in anything rn. Belgian here. There is a recession coming, hence the interest cuts. It wasn't even on the news here. They dont want us to know they did that to avoid a recession. And it is not working.
The job market can definitely seem tough right now, but it also might be a good time to reflect and look at new opportunities. Some industries are still growing, and a tight market could push people to be more innovative or start something new.
Upskilling or pursuing additional certifications could make you more competitive when the market turns around
That’s definitely a valid concern. It’s not easy to juggle financial priorities when there’s so much uncertainty, and planning for future growth feels risky.
it’s definitely a challenging time. A lot of people are feeling uncertain about their careers and financial futures.
Exactly. I'm worried about how this instability could impact my long-term goals, especially if things continue like this
That’s understandable. On the positive side, this could push people to think outside the box-maybe explore new industries, develop new skills, or even start a side business. But it’s still a tough spot to be in
As a former trade job person who lived frugally, and who is now homeless and in poverty, with chronic medical problems, high medical debts, and no savings, you’d be surprised at how many trade job people who end up homeless and in poverty too. It’s a fact that has been well documented by other YT channels.

In the 50's my Dad worked a modest job, Mom stayed at home and raised the kids, and they lived a nice middle class lifestyle including owning a home. Nowadays both I and my partner works and can barely afford to make ends meet. Soon the kids and family dog will need to work to keep this household going. It's the destruction of the American dream right before our eyes.
I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I'd suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you...prevent inflation
I was a late bloomer, but Tracy Britt Cool Consulting, my financial advisor helped me bring it all together and got me into crypto. Now retired for 6 years at 72, my managed portfolio with Tracy generates about 9k a month on average more than my RMD on my retirement accounts. Not real big, but together with SS we're able to live reasonably with 160k a year. While being mortgage free.
She is really a good investment advisor. Was privileged to attend some of her seminars.that's how I started my own crypto investment
Where heading to a great depression. It's not a recession. Even during the recession, it wasn't as bad as this!
If you "feel" like a recession is coming you're already in one.
By definition, it means 2 quarters of negative growth. So by the time an economy is declared to be in a recession, 6 months have already passed with it.
The Fed tried cutting the interest rate to avoid a recession and I think it is not working. Recession is starting...
Those new job numbers are definitely inflated😂

Agree.. anyone going to college needs to take a hard look at the ROI for the degree they are choosing
It’s refreshing to hear logic like this. You give me some hope for the next generations.
Absolutely. This is nothing new though. I graduated in Great Recession with a business degree. Unfortunately this was the hard wake up call for many in my same shoes that college degrees have lost their value unless you have a very valuable degree.
I completely agree! I am quick to admit that I chose a very broad major in undergraduate. I chose international affairs, but wasn’t immediately ready to move to NYC or DC to find policy jobs. My skills were a bit too broad, as well. Needless to say, I went to grad school to study Urban Planning, a field that is quite useful and provides a nice ROI depending on the planning specialization you go into
I like to have 12 months back as well. My husband lost his job in 2008. We were very fortunate that his part-time job he had hired him on full-time the next day.
It's so much worse than what the data is telling you. Most of those jobs are taxpayer subsidized government jobs or in industries that are heavily subsidized by taxpayers. The private sector is MUCH worse than what the numbers would lead you to believe on the surface.
I got laid off over a Teams call with my manager the week before Thanksgiving, the day after I told him my wife was pregnant. So we have identical stories to pregnancy right before holidays. I was just a last in first out budget cut. But I had a 6-9 month emergency fund so it wasn't stressful. Just hate the job search/interview process.

Truth is that the market is really panicking at this moment and I'm worried what effect this frenzy could have on my portfolio of about 80k. Could you make any recommendations on how I could preserve my portfolio during this period and also make profit from the market situation?
Well, this could be a very good time to make profit from the market. But because it's a frantic period, it's often best you employ the service of a financial advisor. I was up almost 90% during the COVID crash because I was working with one.
I had a similar experience. A financial advisor could really help you re-adjust and identify blindspots that you yourself do not notice, like mine did in advising me during COVID on how the pandemic will shape things, and I made it out big and still make up to at least 20k in dividend per month.
How can I reach this advisers of yours? because I'm seeking for a more effective investment approach on my savings?

Apparently there are two worlds here. For those who purchased their house 5 years ago, their value has gone up at least 50 if not 100%. For those who have several millions in investments, this is one of the longest bull run of the market. People are gaining high 6 figures or 7 figure in net worth every year. Getting a degree in useless or vague things stuff like communications and english is the issue. Of course no one is going to give you a job. Nowadays you DO need a specialized degree that teaches you in demand skills. STEM, finance, accounting, IT, healthcare, etc. People don't like hearing this. The other lie is going straight to a 4 year university. Unless you have a scholarship, GI bill, or a trustfund baby don't bother. People look down on CC but it is the same education at a fraction of the cost. Been to both you can accomplish A LOT at CC as well as university. People are sold so many lies they just buy it because everyone is doing it. It's heard mentality people are lacking critical thinking skills and then get screwed in the end
The inflation "rate" is lower, but prices didnt necessarily go down, thus sky high prices with a slower rate still means even higher prices.
Trade schools do job placement. Why can’t universities do this?
Because money.
Because the product most universities offer sucks ass. You pay way more money for a degree no one cares about. Yay. A communications degree from Iowa State.

In the Charleston SC area, there are a lot of part time jobs in food &bev and hospitality. Good private industry full time jobs are hard to get, unless you know someone, have a referral or have crazy, specific skills.

Wages are kept low and prices are kept high to force you into using credit because money is only created with interest.
You need to remember that the jobs numbers have been revised down for a long time now, so initial jobs numbers are under estimating most likely, also you have to dig further and monitor part time to full time, also don't forget government jobs being created to boost the numbers.

Middle class life will now be 40-60 hrs a week. 1 car per family, smaller homes, spending a huge % of your income on energy and food. The life of the 2000s is gone forever guys. The money printing is catching up to the western world. This is also the end of a 100 year cycle that all capitalist nations face. Despite the CPI numbers released on Wednesday showed inflation continued to tick downward, core inflation (excluding energy and food) actually ticked back up. On average, recessions last between 8 to 18 months. As a full time trader and investor, I try to keep 18 months of emergency fund stashed in a HYSA. In general (as JJ said), having access to dry powder of at least 3-6 months at all times is a good rule of thumb.

I’m 42 and my life has been filled with bullshit. I was a Marine. I’m now a nurse. I went through Iraq and Afghanistan and then COVID. It has been nonfuckingstop idk what Cush you are referring to. It’s been shit.
I want to quit my teaching job. It’s not worth the pay nothing. I rather just quit. Instead of driving to work mon-Friday to a job that doesn’t pay you well at all.
Just be thankful as Americans you don’t have to live in Europe. It’s much much worse here - there’s been no recovery in the real economy since 2008, only in financial assets.
Easier to live in a van here too.
At least in Europe you can afford to rent with 1 job and not live on the streets, here in the US you need at least 3 gigs to barely survive.
You keep voting for it.
@@jasonweishaupt1828 I don’t but too many of us do. Try have a discussion about tax cuts for people and businesses and reducing welfare to get growth going and you’ll be lambasted.
@@dandis92 No you can’t. Not in Western Europe anyway. Southern Europe has mass unemployment, the west has unaffordable costs of living, and Eastern Europe is still not fully recovered from communism which is just the logical end of what many left wing Democrats want for the US.
Young people need to learn you don't have an excuse to use profanities at work. They can't yell that stuff at you, and you can't do it to them. It's such a childish look. Yes being fired sucks but they didn't use swear words at you. That person was basically being threatening to someone who is trying to do their jobs. Don't use bad language, be an adult. That stuff simply does not belong among adults. Somehow I believe this was NOT a surprise firing . . .
Huh, that's funny. Where I work it's been mostly the older people aged 50 and up that use profanities.
I just have a liberal arts English degree. After college I spent 7 years at Deloitte in tech consulting, then was poached by Amazon for a product manager role. 4 years later at 33 years old I am now a Principal Product Manager at Amazon making about $520k a year. You definitely don't need a STEM degree to do most non technical jobs. You just need to be proficient at excel. Even in high finance, the math is just high school level algebra.
Degrees do not guarentee you a job.. Even with a degree "known to get you a job". One of my relatives has an MBA with 8+yrs experience and still struggles with finding work.
Make sure you have RICH PARENTS before being born.
The employers will use this to their advantage to work you even more…
There was only a drop in unemployment because people can only draw it for so many weeks also a lot of people aren't eligible to even apply for unemployment that does not mean they're not unemployed
I want to disagree the premise of your statement about inflation coming from dropping trillions of dollars into the economy. Inflation started when the supply chains got strained. Corporations decided to continue raising prices past their point of inflationary costs. Also, inflation is worldwide and not central to one economy or monetary denomination. What we see is every corporation across the world seeing that they can raise prices and keep doing so and people will pay. We've seen evidence over and over again in every industry of price fixing and collusion to do so. Especially with oil and groceries. Welcome to late stage capitalism where profit margins are all that matters.
The unemployment numbers are false
