The worlds are safe, and our heroes; Sora, Donald, and Goofy are looking for Riku and the King. What they didn't expect was the place they would find themselves, and the danger they would be faced with. A new enemy has surfaced and there may be more to these black coated fighters than you may suspect.

I just bought the 1.5 + 2.5 collection for 40. I just beat kh3 last night after having it for like 5 months lol. I beat kh2 so long ago and was kinda disappointed with the ending of 3. But I didn't play any other games in the series so I'm about to run through it all on the Xbox one
I don't always pay $400 for a series, but when I do I have 2.8 copies of everything. Lmao.

The mechanics are meant for a 2D side view. They just stuck the mechanics onto a 3D engine. XD
@@YoungLeosword The only major difference is thatyou have to micro-manage your attacks. For people who love the action aspects of KH, this game isn't going to be fun, but it's my favourite combat of all the games.

If they had only made the gameplay like the original Kingdom Hearts this would be a great game. The story was amazing only to have bad gameplay.
If they didn't slow down the game's battle mechanics, the game would have been much too short (which would have been a great thing)
It’s a good thing I got rid of it when I did then, I mistook it for a game similar to the first one or some kind of remaster of the first game since all these remasters of games back in the day are coming out now, I never heard of this game before, when I started playing it, I found out that it only took place right after they fell asleep in the grass in the first or second game, and it wasn’t what I thought🤔
Play it on GBA. I promise its really good and has its own charm as 2D. The remake was awful. The combat doesnt work in 3D
Wow. Axel was pretty cold in Castle Oblivion. I wonder how he can come back and enjoy his time with Roxas later like nothing happened! But I love his wit! His scene with Larxene was pretty funny as Larxene seems to flirt with him all the time but he was nonchalant and unresponsive!
And love the ending teaser too! If I haven't played the game, I would like to know who that golden hair boy is, but we already know now!

Choco Tammy ummm no. i don't know where you heard that, but soras actor was in his 20's when he voiced him in this game. he was a kid when he voiced sora in KH1, and a young adult when he voiced sora in KH2. yes SORA was 14 in kh1 but not his actor.

*R.I.P. Wayne Allwine, voice of Mickey Mouse from the late 1970s till his time would come in 2009. He slayed as Mickey in the kingdom hearts game, now we have someone who sounds like they’re not trying at the same time, doesn’t have anywhere near the same range or emotion Wayne had, and sounds weaker and younger. Just hire Quinton Flynn to do Mickey his voice sounds so much more like Wayne allwine’s. Like-scarily similar. I had a hard time believing it was him doing the voice and not Wayne, until he confirmed it was in fact he doing it on Instagram. They should make a proper kingdom hearts movie with dinsey, and make the movie graphics like Final Fantasy Advent Children, the story of the film should take place after the end of kingdom hearts 2, and follow Kairi and Soras journey on fighting the heartless as one! would be epic!
People, We know Square Enix can make the movie, we have all wanted to come out for along time, if we support the cause and join as one, we might be able to convince them to make it :) help get this film made, it would be the most beautiful film to ever come out of production!
I LOVE Advent Children. And it's rumored that it was made at the fan's request. To follow Cloud's story. Why should KH be any different. Square Enix has 10 years worth of KH fans. It would attract a large crowd.
yes it would! Square Enix, surprised and satisfied alot of people with FF Advent children, how the graphics and fighting was on that film was absolutely amazing, would be amazing to sit and watch my favourite franchise on the big screen, maybe even in a cinema near you! :D
Exactly. In truth. Advent Children was the first time I heard of Final Fantasy and the first time I ever saw Cloud. That movie (although a bit confusing with not knowing the story and all) blew me away. It was, . . .Epic is the only word that does it justice. The same would be said for Kingdom Hearts. This series truly is the greatest thing that's ever happened. I really don't think there's anything that can top it.

Parents really aren't a big focus in this game....which is kinda understandable, since the story and characters are already so complex... According to Riku, Sora has a dad as well, but he isn't mentioned either. And who raised Lea and Isa? Is Riku related to Xehanort? Is Kairi's grandma still living? Does Ventus have a family? Where did Aqua and Terra come from? Lol, I guess Ienzo's one of the lucky ones because he has like 5 dads. XD

another thing,where does Sora live? the name of the world is destiny islands,so i guess there should be a main one
Vektor Destiny Islands is made up of two islands . The first island has little houses on it (we see it in KH1, KH2, and BBS) and then there's one that they hang out/play on. The two islands are a short distance away from each other, so they use boats to travel back and forth. :)

+flugelblarghen It isn't that bad, really. I was upset too because, well, it was very different from every other KH installment but it's actually really fun when you get used to it. It's kind of like "your moves are limited so make them all count" mentality :D
Its such a nice combat system especially once you master what slights work best against what enemy or boss and accompanied by whats probably my favorite KH story I just couldn't put it down.

If they were duelists, Sora would use monsters based off of Summon characters, Goofy uses Shield users, Donald has elementals, Axel-Fire, Larxene-Thunder, Vexan-Ice, Riku using Heartless, Lexaeus-Earth, Zexion-Book, Marluxia-Flower and Nobodies, Mickey-Disney characters, and Ansem-Disney Villains.

Riku story was easy as hell, Sora story is only hard in the beginning, once you realize that sleights (particularly sonic blade, lethal flame, ars arcanum, etc..) are all broken powerful everything dies pretty fast.
Only fight that really pissed me off was the first Vexen fight, Marluxia final fight, and Zexion. The combat isnt hard to grasp at all, but eh, all the other games are brain dead easy with x and triangle spam

I feel like the concept of the heartless/nobodies is a romantic metaphor for the onset of narcissism and other cluster B traits... Anyone else?
Thank you for putting this together. You don't know how helpful this was to finally see this piece of the story all the way through.
After seeing all the things from Chains of Memories..Things in KH 2 make a lot more sense and you're able to understand the story better. What I wonder about KH 3 is if they're going to pull that same stunt where they make the game but there are parts that they wind up explaining more via spinoffs
I'm 99% sure that anyone who hasn't played the in-between games will be completely lost in KH3. There was only one game between KH1 and KH2, and it was somewhat confusing to skip it. Now we have 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, Coded, and Dream Drop Distance (3D). 358/2 days is not terribly important to the plot, as it only concerns Roxas during the events of CoM (though the story is engaging, even if the gameplay is incredibly bland). Coded contains some important story elements (apparently, I haven't played it/watched the cutscenes yet) that left me somewhat in the dark in 3D. The events of Coded may become more important when Maleficent returns.
By far, the two most important games since KH2 have been BBS and 3D (which are, by the way, both excellent games). BBS revealed the main antagonist of the series and a few other characters (namely Aqua and Ventus, possibly another) that will almost certainly appear in KH3. They also explained why Sora and Riku can wield the keyblade and why Sora was not originally supposed to do so, which may or may not be important.
Then we have 3D, which will be problematic because it is a direct continuation of the main story. It has incredibly important plot points (arguably more important to the story than CoM was to KH2), and will not likely be ported to a more mainstream console before KH3 is released unless they ship the cutscenes along with KH2 HD Remix, which seems somewhat unlikely. Without this game, people will be lost as to who Xehanort is and what he's doing with Organization XIII. There will also be confusion as to why Axel (now Lea, though even the characters still call him Axel) and other Organization members are alive again, why Axel can wield a keyblade, and why the Princesses of Heart and Organization XIII are now incredibly important again.
In the end, KH3 would have to have a mighty recap to cover all this information. Though the important parts of 3D be covered to some extent, I have a feeling that a lot of players will be left in the dark. It's a dangerous thing that the series is headed for, and I fear that many people who have been understandably foregoing the other games will be disappointed.
in a way I feel like this is a cheap thing to do to the fans. Either play the spinoffs or miss important parts of the story
***** I'm somewhat torn about it. On the one hand, it has been tough to play all of the games, but on the other, the spinoff games (which aren't really spinoffs at this point) have given SquareEnix a lot of room to experiment and refine things, and that has yielded some excellent games, both in terms of gameplay and story. I'd say the other games are definitely worth playing (except for 358/2 days, which again has an excellent story with boring gameplay), but it can be incredibly frustrating if you don't own all of the systems. IN the end, people will have to at least have a PS3 and 3DS to catch up before KH3 comes out.

***** Of course, but for one thing, that means people have to miss out on some awesome games, and two, there are a lot of people who won't even know that the other games are important until they get to KH3. Knowing that you'll need to wade through 4 games worth of cutscenes (at least 12 hours in total) is not a great thing. That, or they could watch a somewhat less exciting recap video. It's certainly doable to catch up on the games, but it won't exactly be a ton of fun.

Because I had played the 2nd KH and didn't understand some of it and found out I had to play chain of memories to understand KH2 and it was so annoying fighting with keycards and was like forget this! but this movie was great! and I love that it explains Riku's story through the castle also. You made me happy and saved me so much time I just wish I found this video sooner! :D
larxene's voice actor is so damn good, they shoulda just kept her as an important character instead of killing her off. she definitely woulda brought more excitement and drama to the series. the majority of the organization is just so bland, boring and hard to pay attention to during the main storyline cutscenes

Thank you for putting this together... Getting ready for KH3 and I just beat KH1.5. I didn't feel like playing a really dated card game, but, at the same time, didn't want to miss out on the story. This is the perfect bridge to the second game for people that don't want to wast their time playing a sub par card game. Looking forward KH 2.5... never played it.
The first cutscene in chain of memories makes me cry knowing I'm not getting that joy again that memory that's out of reach the thing that brought happiness also brings pain the joy I got out of kingdom hearts I love this series with all my heart and will never forget it. It made me not have a care in the world when I played a game from this series the pain would melt away when I sat down and grabbed the controller and the scene behind me and the hurt of yesterday would disappear i will never forget the ocean i made and the good times i had. . . .that i will never get back

Liking this cut you put together, but I'm nearly two hours in and noticed a mistake. I think the scene where Axel talks to Zexion about how he thinks "Marluxia will be next" should be sometime AFTER the scene where Sora fights Axel again (ending in "I'd hate to kill the suspense"). This is the part where Axel "takes his beating" from Sora that he's making reference to...and in fact, Zexion even refers to Marluxia in the past tense as if this might have already happened.

This was such an engaging story alongside 385/2 Days but the last words in the post-credits scene got me really thinking. These words will hold special importance hopefully for Kingdom Hearts 3 as a lot of these stories are deeply connected through the characters' hearts. I hope Kingdom Hearts 3 will answer all of our questions in considerable detail as there are still a lot of pointers that we don't know.

I can see the appeal in card strategy games when a series has always been doing them, but when franchises like Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear try to do it it just kinda falls flat for me :(

Yeah :') Metal Gear Acid with an additional Big Boss clone, Kojima wasn't involved in the game and kinda despised it. It has the debate in canon by the fanbase like Portable Ops does

I appreciate this video because I'm stuck on the final replica Riku battle as Sora and was never a fan of the card system but that it omitted the world events made me feel that a lot was missing.
Ex. Riku: I know you heard everything that Maleficent told me.
Me: What did Maleficent tell you!?
That being said, Sora was an irrational ass about the Namine memories and Riku being a bloodhound was a little weird and quite random.
Also, I'm not clear on what part of Roxas's timeline co-occurred with the duration of this game.
