Good morning Joe the six way is my favorite blade. Have a great day. Total ecplise of the heart. Haha
I like it too. Seems to be very versatile with different sized logs
I would recommend anyone that does a total eclipse to not look up at the sun about 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after totality. Just look around you without the glasses. I didn't look to the sun once and it was worth it, IMO. Watching the light change around me that fast was amazing once it got close. Literally like a slow light dimmer in real time. Simply incredible. Same once it ended and the light came back. The event it worth it, but not the price gouging crap. Glad I was sitting in my shed in NW Ohio for free 😆
No sure what you mean about price gouging but then again I just stayed put. Where do you live Toledo? Thanks Cody
@@ohiowoodburner people were re-selling goods for organized events for double and triple what they got it for (yes, nothing new. People do this a lot I hear, like concerts). Some people were renting out their yard at $75 per tent. Hotels at $400-800 per night for that whole weekend, which is a bit crazy even with supply and demand. That's just what I can confirm too. I am in the Bowling Green and Findlay area.
But again, the eclipse, well.. eclipsed the shenanigans of those anyway I guess. Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us!
I did the opposite and worked on planting 350 trees during the eclipse!🌳 The Oaks should be ready for the Japa about the time of the next Eclipse!👍
haha. In about 300 years I heard
Next one is 2044 are we going be around for it
@@ohiowoodburner I wonder how many eclipses the Oak you were splitting has seen?!?!
Hah! 😂you never fail to entertain! Between your eclipse glasses, and the rest of your humor! I'm here in Calif and really didn't get much, so thank you so much for sharing! Have a ..,😊Great day!
I'm a chainsaw Carver, so that's what I was doing, during the eclipse. Thanks again Joe!
Thanks for supporting us GW!
Joe - you should be able to charge a premium price for that "eclipse" firewood!!! 😆
I know right!?
I was cutting firewood as well :)
Oh Joe. What a goof. Thank you for bringing us some humour from the wood yard and thank you for bring us the eclipse from your part of the world
Glad you enjoyed it BC
So, with the halo around your head do we need to start calling you st. Joe? 🤠👍👍👍👍👍
haha... more like St Bernard
@@ohiowoodburner St Joe!
I was with a crew of Amish on Monday.
They knew about the Eclipse. They worked up until near totality, then stopped for a brief break to watch the e ent. They were back to laying shingles before the eclipse was finished.
Those eclipse shingles probably are worth a lot of money!
I had no appreciation for being in the path of totality until it happened. It was the most impressive natural phenomenon I have ever witnessed. The difference between 99% and 100% is literally night and day. I now understand why people were saying what they said in 2017 about the need to be in the path to really experience the awesomeness. Twilight in 360°, the flash of white light when 100% is achieved, seeing solar flares with the naked eye....amazing.
well said Kev!!
Joe,you have to have a little break from your wood and catch the eclipse another excellent video 😮😊❤
haha thanks Todd!
Imagine driving cross country just to see that 🤯🤯
I would do it if the opportunity came. It was something to see
Joe,
If those eclipse glasses don't work for you, I have a used pair you can buy.
I'm saving mine for the next one in 300 years.
Can you charge extra for wood produced during an Eclipse?😂😊
I think I should!!
Great gag with the Eclipse “glasses”!! 😎👍
Gag? These were for real! lol. Hope you are well Dave
@@ohiowoodburner Really enjoyed the visit, Joe. Drove back today…safe 7 hour drive. 👍
Joe looks like you were having fun
This was a great event. Loved it!
I think the lenses on your glasses were installed backwards 😂
That could have been it. Dang. I will try it again on the next eclipse
Hi there hope you had your special solar eclipse sun screen on ( SSESS ) .you do know what happens if you didn't . good show , best to all john
haha. my face is still a little red from the experience lol
Are you going to try and charge more for the wood you split during the eclipse?
I had actually considered that. I thought I would make wood DURING totality and put a label on each stick to identify as wood made during a solar eclipse. But then I realized that I woudn't be able to SEE the totality bc I am under a roof. LOL. So I decided not to
Eclipse glasses.....Hahahahahahaha!
Your daughter's are showing this to all their friends.
I wish I thought of that.
I would have thought that your machine should be able to cut as your splitting ready to drop as soon as your ram is back
Look at that beautiful oak. You gotta love it Joe!😂🏴👍
Great video. Thanks for sharing your eclipse footage. Have a great day👍🏻!
Thanks Chris
Hey Joe… Are you charging a premium for eclipse fire wood? 😅
I was in totality seven years ago. It was really cool. I had better glasses than yours, though.
Eclipse firewood? Sounds like a premium price to me!
Cool😊
Thanks sir!
Good day Joe, Great job on bringing the total eclipse from your area . I did not not get the chance to see it from this perspective, as I was driving home from work. Thanks my friend 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
There is another one in 300 years. Maybe we can all get together then and watch it lol
Saint-Jo
haha... hardly!!
I heard 'Eclipse Firewood' sells at a premium. I was half tempted to run up to your woodyard Monday. Was getting another firewood load on Nolan's Way Rd. (couple of streets over from Belmont).
Lookin' forward to May 17 & 18.
Can't wait to see you again dale. you are always welcome. If you were near belmont you could have seen Sweet Memories Vintage Ts and candy store. My shirts are for sale there
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing Joe👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Wrapped Eclipse 2024 totality firewood bundles!
I could probably get $9.99 a stick!
The Fredrictown Amish community was square in the midst of totality. That doesn't happen often.
We had clear skies.
Ours were about as good as we could expect this time of year
Thanks for filming the eclipse Joe. Out here in Colorado it only got slightly dark, more like a cloudy day (or normal Spring day in Ohio, LOL). What surprised me was the major reduction in power from my solar PV system, it dropped from 8KW to 3 for a few minutes then back up to 8 again. Being nearly 5000 feet closer to the sun does make a difference too. I might try to come visit you in June if I come to Ohio for my aunt's 102d birthday. I will bring gloves...
102? That is awesome! Where does she live?
What is the premium for "Eclipse firewood"? I'm thinking double regular old non-eclipse firewood.
Imma thinking it has to be worth something!
firewood made during a total eclipse ... gotta be something special there ... a darker fire that throws conditioned air ... rare ... spooky even
haha. I agree with you Ron!
Your humour is gold Joe ! This takes me back to 1976 and as a ten yr old we had a total solar eclipse here in Australia. I remember it well and I was watching the wizard of Oz on tv !
Great story Gus! Thanks for sharing bud
Hey Joe another great review, you pointed out Venus and tried showing us Jupiter. I thought for sure you’d try and show us Uranus. lol
Cheers Woody !!!
har har! Thanks Woody! Wish I had thought of that myself
Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. The Eclipse didn't consider the Emerald Isle to be important enough for inclusion in this event.
haha. We will have another one in 300 years. I hope to bring that one to you as well Big Rodders!
You had a much better effect from the eclipse. It had a weird yellow look here like right before a bad storm.
The sky certainly looked different going into darkness
Where’s Log Hauler Jesse?
I'm just north of you. That was awesome. So glad I got to experience that.
I agree. It was super cool for sure buddy
A Firewood professional, but a hobbyist comedian... 😜
Have a great day!!
do do do dodo do!!! Thanks bob!
@@ohiowoodburner - Big Rodders in Ireland here. I think Robert is telling you politely not to give up the day job by going on the comedy circuit 😊.
How much are you planning to charge for your souvenir eclipse firewood?
I could prob get a premium for it for sure!!
Sell "The Eclipse Firewood" at a premium price! LOL
I agree. Prob get $9.99 a stick!
Nicely done Joe, yeah I stayed in the house when it happened here in northern Illinois it got kind of dark and that’s about it
haha. IT was awesome to see!
I was inside during the Eclipse. However, I did see one Tuesday evening, and every panel was bent, and the tweaker was trying not to go to sleep. 😉👍
Ok, you lost me on this one Dan...LOL
@@ohiowoodburner : Think Mitsubishi
with this crazy weather this year,do u cover any of ur splitters.
I need to get one over the axis for sure
We did not get the total eclipse here in New Castle Pa but it did get dark enough where the street lights came on. Pretty cool
Def a cool event Keith. I used to work in New Castle. One of my favorite Hoss's steakhouse there lol
And yes Joe.... That Halo around your head was cool as cool can be!!
haha. that could be my calling card!
You changed caps not hats, Caps have a bill hats have a brim
I will be doing an upcoming vid on wheelbarrows. In Ohio they are pronounced wheel barrel.
A remarkable video of this rare event, thanks.
Thanks. I just wish i ha better camera work!
Good video joe great job
Thanks bob!!
Hey 👋 Joe
hello!
Hahahaha.................. Love your glasses
Darn things didn't work!
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork!
"...and on the eighth day, God created the Japa 405!"
LOL Thanks steve!!
Joe how is the wood you made supposes to dry with no sun?
These are special eclipse wood. Magic!
Animals have been said that during eclipse they act up in crazy manner
That is what I heard to. The birds certainly went quiet
I was right in totality and nature wasn't all that fazed. It got quieter, yes, but the Robin's and other birds weren't really fooled. I didn't noticed anything crazy, personally.
Gosh Joe I thought you always walked around with a halo around you🙃! Tell Aunt Bonnie thank you for her eclipse picture!! Enjoyed the podcast this morning!
Keep up the good work sr
Thanks, will do!
Thanks Joe. We had just under 2 minutes here in nw ohio
I had a lot of fun. Ihope you enjoyed it as much as I did rick
We did.
Thanks for this joe,great video
Glad you enjoyed it J2
Yessir j1. Lol
Enjoyed your podcast this morning, look forward to it every week.
Glad to hear it!
It's a great Video as always Joe. Nice Film Work of the Total Eclipse to see it and Venus. My Wife and I watched it here in NY, with our Glasses on. It was 97% Here. Got Dark enough for our Yard Light to come on for about 3minutes. Nice looking Oak also, along with looked like Rounds of Maple on the EASTONMADE. Our Clouds were in and out but at least we experienced it. Off for the Next 4days or so as we are going to get alot of Rain, plus Resting up by Orders of my Doctor. Keep up your Great Video's my Friend and see you at the next one, stay Cool as I liked your First Eclipse Glasses. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
Thanks Ron. This was certainly an experience!
Nice! Thanks for the eclipse commentary and videos. Elaine from (western) Canada , it was a nothingburger in my area so I was happy to see it from NE Ohio. Cool 😎. I laughed at your home made “Eclipse” glasses Joe…pretty clever. Isn’t it amazing how quickly it came and went, goes to show how fast things are spinning and orbiting in the celestials, usually unnoticed in our day to day life. Hey, maybe you can put a premium on the wood bundles that was processed/split during the 2024 solar eclipse? Shrink wrap a pack of “Eclipse” gum beside your OWB label, ha ha. Great video, have a great week, cheers.
haha. I agree I should try to sell this eclipse wood for a premium!
Fun recap of the Monday event. Jupiter was around 9 o’clock. We got just around 2 minutes of totally just like you. …and thanks for the lol on the «eclipse gum » glasses.
haha. Thanks RB!
Good, entertaining video 👍 I never took the Japa seriously until watching what you and Back 40 Firewood do in your videos. Nice machine, great splitting, good quality product 😊
I felt the same way a few years ago when I first saw it in a magazine. Then I saw the 365 in action at the paul bunyan show and was convinced. Great machine and dealer network
Good Day Joe: Great video- we had heavy cloud cover out here in Montana, so I didn’t see anything here. It was nice to see the view from your woodyard. Thank you for sharing 👍
that was to be the case here in NEO but the clouds moved out just in time
You have a great day also ,Joe
thanks sir!
Hello Joe
You did a GREAT commentary and video of the Eclipse ! Thanks 😊
Id take a whole load of the Eclipse Firewood ! LOL😊
haha. Prob could ask for double the going price!
@ohiowoodburner
Too bad you have probably unloaded that load of FIREWOOD...I'd have paid you 5 Dollars a loaded mile delivered to Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦 You missed out on
$ 8,540.00 LOL 😁
It was a pretty cool couple of hours for sure Joe....
sure was greg!
Agree with bioniclife, I was in 99% just east of Columbus and there was still quite a bit of light and shadows. Amazing to see, thanks Joe!
I noticed it was way brighter when it came out of totality than going in. seemed odd but that is how I saw it
@@ohiowoodburner I suspect your eyes had not adjusted to the light change as quickly.
