Hi Dr Hayley, thanks for your videos! I am watching to prepare for my interview tomorrow! I am Brazilian, but I am living and applying in Paris, France. Thanks for the tips and the positive attitude and tone :) Keep up the good work!
Hey Dr Hayley Stainton, so you got an opportunity to work in Egypt. Why not you join some other fellows and research outside the Pyramids area? 10:35 I am from Budapest, Hungary. Can you please make a video on doing PhD in Computer Science & especially in AI & ML? You can ask references from Nordic and other EU countries, it will help a lot of us. Thank You.
Thank you Dr. Hayley, sending in my appreciation from Uganda-East Africa. By the way in Uganda our education system is fundamentally based on the British system due to colonial past etc. So your videos are really well received here (in Uganda).
Hi Dr. Hayley. I'm from Sri Lanka. Thank you for your tips and motivation. I am preparing for my first Ph.D. interview. So have to watch your videos over and over again...
Watching you from Ghana, I have an interview tomorrow. Your material is helpful I will surely return with my testimony after I get accepted. Thank you.
I'm from Poland and here we need to have a proposal and potential supervisor before we even apply. They can't be part of the recruiting committee and you find your supervisor yourself. The exam is more like an admission exam. I have mine tomorrow, so thank you for your useful tips
I'm watching from Ghana and have been invited for an interview by University of Alabama on 21/02/2023. I'm hoping to nail it with the help your videos.
Hi, (I am from the UK) thanks so much for all the explanations about how universities work with stars etc. I am just about to embark on a research master's, which may develop into a PhD if I am lucky, so knowing all the interview requirements has been so useful. Thank you so much, it has been a very informative video.
I'm Dorothy from Rwanda in East African Community. I do thank you for this empowering video. I applied and am still applying for PhD program for Fall 2022. I will do the first PhD interview this mid-January. However I am not fluent in English, I'm in intermediate level but still working hard to emprove my English speaking. What advice could you give me to pass the interview successfully as an intermediate English speaker?
I am in Blantyre, Malawi 🇲🇼 the warm heart of Africa.....8 points by the way hahaha....I love this. I will give you feedback after the interview. Thank you Doc.
From Belgium! I want to investigate silence in online psychotherapy :) Thanks for the video! Can you do one on the process of a phd? or a day in the life? I find it hard to know what my 4 year will look like.. do i for example have to do some teaching as well?
Hi Hanne, what an interesting topic! You might be asked to teach, that depends on your university. I can definitely look into making a video about the life of a PhD student- will add it to the to-do list 👍
Thank you Dr Hailey. I have an interview in two days for a PhD studentships and have to prepare a presentation and I'm so nervous I feel like I'm marching straight to hell 😭😭

@@dalitsokalipalire5054 Hello bro. I did not do well on the Austrian interview. However, a few months later I took another interview at the University of Manchester, and I got a PhD offer there.
thank you for the video. It was very handful. I have a question. I am current phd student and applied for another program I find more interesting. However, I have not have any publications, though I have been in the academia for a long time. I feel like that would be a disadvantage. Do you have any suggestions to have to explain it and demonstrate enthusiasm to make publications when if I am selected? I really am enthusiastic in deed, but I wasn’t confidence to send publications yet and also overworked currently.
It depends on your university and how important publications are to them, but I’m sure if you explain that you haven’t had the time yet but it will be a priority in future they will understand?
Hi Dr Hayley, I found your interview very useful and motivating. My PhD interview is on 27th November. If got accepted, will get back to thank you. Please pray for me. Keep making good videos and motivating us. Thank you. Love from Nepal
I got an interview offer, and the professor who will interview me is not the person who I wrote in my SoP that I want to work with. Do you have any recommendations to address this if this is the case? For example, should I tell him I wanted to work with you (but he might know I did not write his name in my SoP)? I'm nervous..
I'm having the same dilemma currently. Interview is in few days and I don't know the best way to approach it, knowing fully well that the faculty member to interview me isn't part of the three potential advisors I mentioned in my SOP. Anyone to help with clues based on past experience?
Please I’m going to Read a neuroscience program which requires rotations. Do I need to have a proposal because I don’t know which topic to research on yet.
