    My father was in Folsom prison when Merle Haggard and Buck Owen’s came in to play. I have some of his prison memorabilia including play bills and pictures showing their concerts. He said he saw Johnny Cash too but didn’t have anything from him. Dad did ten years for several armed robberies starting at age 18 but actually came out of prison a changed man, with a high school diploma, some college and job skills. He never ever offended again. Held a city job until he retired. Passed in 2010.

      I was shocked how many young people drink and drive in the usa and seem oblivious when someone does not survive ..I wonder is it a mix of drink and drugs.. also its seems normal that they text and chat on their phone over there too while behind the wheel. Kinda scarey IMO

      This was also depressing to me. I worked with a nurse who was depressed and decided to drink and drive off the road to kill herself. We were not working together at the time and I didn't find out till years later about her hitting another car and killing the elderly man driving the car. She got 17 years with no early parole due to this not being her first offense drinking and driving. She served the whole 17 years. I thought about writing her but wasn't sure how she would respond. Now I wish I had. I can't image what her life was like in prison. I know that I'd never survive the first week.

      Years ago maybe 70s or 80s there was a documentary made called Scared Straight , teenagers who thought they were tough were brought into the prison to talk and meet with the prisoners. The prisoners didn’t take any attitude from these kids, and we’re in their face. Check it out.

      I think she participated in JJ's murder or she was at least present for it. She's a total monster. My heart breaks for Tylee, JJ, and Tammy because they were murdered by people they loved and trusted.

    • @markh.harris9271
      @markh.harris9271 Год назад +3

      @@snowwhite2524 , indeed.
      Yes, that's what I'm talking about, she was at least present for both; reason being is that they were ritualistic killings. Contrary to the prosecutors theory, they were not killed primarily for the money; they were killed because as "dark spirits, zombies" they were evil imposters who were in the way and "dangerous". They had to be killed in a specific way (somthered; bound, or fire) and burried ritualistically. Lori had to be there to make sure Alex did things properly. I believe Chad killed Tammy with his bare hands, but either Alex or Lori was present as well (probably Alex).
      marcus

    • @snowwhite2524
      @snowwhite2524 Год назад

      @@markh.harris9271 I think you're right that either Chad, Lori, or both of them had to be there for the ritualistic burials. However, the first attempt on Tammy's life didn't seem ritualistic because Alex just tried to shoot her, like they murdered Charles. I think that they were just trying to murder her in the fastest way possible because she had begun accusing Chad of having an affair about two weeks before she was murdered. It's the same reason Lori murdered Charles as quickly as she did, because he was going to expose her affair and crazy beliefs to the church. I don't think that they would've labeled the kids as dark or murdered them if there wasn't a financial gain by doing so.

    • @markh.harris9271
      @markh.harris9271 Год назад

      @@snowwhite2524 , well, remember, Lori became quite angry (aggitated) when Alex botched up the first attempt; as though, Alex didn't do it correctly acting on his own. I don't think she was angry because he missed.
      Also, there is a difference between Tammy and the Kids, to Lori. Tammy was just in the way. For the Kids, Lori was freeing them from the dark zombie prison they were in.
      This is why she didn't seem to be upset that she had killed them, nor that they were gone... she even said so in her final statement... essentially, "they are in a better place, happy and busy".
      marcus

    • @marlysmithsonian5746
      @marlysmithsonian5746 5 месяцев назад

      @@markh.harris9271 I see what prosecutors are saying, tho. Neither murderer actually had a job to take care of anyone, even themselves. They both have always been parasites and Lori kept switching her host, I still don't get that one.The way the husbands went first, then the kids, shows me it's money. I think the darkness was the excuse, Chud hid his location on his phone, looked up the wind direction for Tylee's ritual, etc. I believe they thought it made them look smarter, but they are wastes, always were and always will be.

I doubt any man could ever be good enough. I think she was someone that got bored quickly and always thought she _was better!_ Chad supplied a life albeit delusional that she always wanted. In that world of delusion, she was a goddess with powers, and therefore, better than everyone else! _I'm sure the inmates at her new home will make sure to recognize just how special she is!_ LOL Maybe someone will be able to wipe that smug off her face!

    Gigi, I say this as a writing and publishing professional of many years: your prison contact is a talented writer whose experiences are arresting and insightful. She explores what is otherwise a hidden corner of our society humanely and with a refreshing degree of self-awareness. I would love to see her emails made into a book, perhaps an edited anthology of essays by women convicts.
    As much as we want a figure like LVD to suffer for her heinous crimes, we can’t forget the humanity of the women serving long sentences in our prisons-especially those who, unlike LVD, experienced significant trauma, adversity, and disadvantage prior to their crimes. Inhumane prison conditions do nothing to bring justice to victims; rather they feed the harmful societal conditions that perpetuate crime and further injustice.

    I feel it. My 31 is in. It hits my mama heart 😢😢 About to be released. My son is in a cell 22 hours. A step up from the hole. Thankful he has his tablet and I've been able to a video visit. He Is sober! Just for today

      Hey! So terribly sorry to hear this. I’ve got a brother that is an addicts and we know there’s two places he’s going to end up if he doesn’t get sober.

    • @AndiMarie
      @AndiMarie Год назад

      @EmmaDee yes, we do know that. He was put in the hole. He is leaving this week. He told me Friday again and actually begged me to contact my friend at the facility because this C.O. has been riding him hard.
      I did not. I do not know ĺ
      So now he has him and his thoughts, no cell mate, and no release this week. I hope he learns. I support recovery and have helped him. Possession and trespass. In the hole. It sucks. This stay beat the alternative. I feel really sad. He is an addict, the hole? His gf keeps telling me about this guy, and him too. I believe this is mental torture, and now he has his 1st write-up. I pray he will never forget this. My sister passed from an accidental overdose. So many people he grew up with. This is eye opening about the facility. They don't play. County jail is not a cake walk.
      They're alive and that's what counts. 🩷 Hugs. I know how it feels. The relief they are alive. He is truly alive and looking forward to his future. I hope the best for your brother, and your family. 🤗
