As uncomfortable as this hot day would be for you, I’m so glad you’re filming this. As an Australian I’ve noticed we so rarely encounter tutorials from famous MUAs that really cater for a true summer (for Australians). When walking through the city on a 35+ with 80+ humidity day I’m often seeing people wearing a style of makeup that is completely inappropriate for truely hot and humid weather. The south east Asia and Oceania populations needs this kind of content desperately.
I’m always blown away by how beautiful the result is of such a simple makeup, this is perfect for the hot weather we’ve been having here in California ☀️
It’s been freakishly hot here in the states on the east coast. This weekend was a real feel of 110 with super high humidity. Waterproof mascara and budgeproof concealer was all I could manage.
@@ScarlettKriss yes! I live in Istanbul and it would have been much hotter here right now, but it RAINED, which never happens in summer (very very rare!) And it's getting pretty chilly in the evenings and at night, which is surprising. It's like weather gone mad :( The climate change in the process :(

I ordered one of the Heliocare products sold in the US that contains only titanium dioxide as an SPF which is more of a cream. It’s still great for my combination skin. I ordered the light and dark gel featured here from AmazonUK and look forward to playing with it when it arrives. Honestly, it’s worth the 5 dollars extra to have the benefit of the awesome sunscreen ingredients available outside the US. Thank you for featuring it.

I’ve been loving the Heliocare spf in dark. The coverage is great, and it does leave a dewy finish so I use in lieu of a moisturiser and base. Also means less layering which can feel so clogging on the skin in high summer! Live for all your tutorials👍🏽!

Great tutorial but really I’m sweating so much I can’t wear any face cream. I have been just wearing your lipstick in skyscraper Rose and although I have to say the lipstick product itself is smaller than a normal lipstick - for the price but the quality is AMAZING. I’ve not had to touch up all day it stays put and it so moisturising and light. I’m converted Lisa. Well done Lisa on these truly beautiful comfortable lipsticks. Your perfectionism shines through.

Which makes me realise why in the morning I cannot get the effect of simple but sophisticated makeup.. I am always late :-) and I do everything too quickly. Btw, I really want to take this opportunity to thank Lisa's staff in the supporting service. I moved from the UK to the US in 2010 so find it quite hilarious to hear about the incredibly hot weather you’ve having back home at the moment. I have never got used to the East coast summers in the US. I spend 3 months of the year indoors as much as possible. 😂

Even though I think we're separated at least by a generation (at least I was too young to go to Woodstock) I find your tutorials uniquely suited to my own skin concerns. When I was younger makeup was fun; now less is definitely more. I think our skin is similar; t-zone etc. I like mists; I got selectively used to the Avene line of redness relief products; some are scented but I found one at night which I rotate with Cerave and wake up with great results. The problem is indeed this weather --Toronto has a humidex factor of 43 degrees fahrenheit which I find intensely uncomfortable and rearrange my day so my dog, a Peke who thinks she's a Rottie, doesn't suffer too much during this period. If I'm by the sea on the Adriatic the heat may well be very high; it's all that moisture that is hard to tolerate. Having a glow is low on my priority list during this period but your routine and suggestions were immensely helpful; I do apply sunscreen and for some reason (all this is anecdotal but if anyone is reading this and it's helpful here we are: i reverted to Clinique which I believe is widely available in the UK, US, Canada as it's distributed by Estee Lauder. It's quite light if applied sparingly with slightly damp makeup sponge and very little loose powder sets it, so that occasional misting during the day seems to be all that's needed. I don't try to contour or use bronzer etc. -- this really is minimalist for this time of year -- my eyebrows don't need a lot of definition but yes a bit and mascara and because at my age messing about with eye makeup sometimes is great fun and sometimes simply an exercise in frustration I use a bit of lipstick and leave the rest alone. And get through the day very comfortably and feel confident. \i recommend your tutorials to everyone I know because they are realistic and accessible and brilliant. I recently spent time with a life-long extraordinary friend from boarding school who, like you, was simply born beautiful and has no vanity or over investment in her looks; I look fine and perhaps am lucky and have some kind of longevity gene but she faces, as an architect commissioned to tackle really big world-wide projects and also a museum curator who knows the treasures of say, St. Petersburg intimately, the fact, to quote the journalist Rebecca West in Black Lamb Grey Falcon, that men often "look past her at her beauty' which is the reason she has a great relationship with her son but is no longer married. A bit of a ramble, but i think these video presentations are about much more than aesthetics, and you are one of the best. And the best of wishes!
Beautiful! I use the Coola Rosilliance bb cream with factor 30 for this sort of a look, almost every day. It has a wonderful pearly quality, so it does most of this in just one step. I simply love it.

I really want to use cream eyeshadows but every one I’ve tried quickly gathers in the creases on me. I’ve tried so many-Clinique, Laura Mercier, Mally, Maybelline, Revlon, MAC, Chanel- with & without primer, with and without powdering my eyelids first. I have quite greasy and heavily hooded (genetic, not aging) eyes. Haven’t tried the NudeStix because I’ve become pretty gunshy about cream eyeshadows. Any pointers will be most gratefully received. Love creams rather than powders. I think they look so much more natural on skin. Also love my Go Lightly! It’s the salmon-pink coral of my dreams that I’ve been looking for for 30 years!
Fangirling so hard right now because I've been doing an extremely similar look this whole summer (well just the poor version of it) and I've been loving it. A very small amount of concealer, shimmery eyelids with a shadow on the outer corners, dewy stick highlighter, brow pencil and a salmon lipstick used as a lip tint and a blush. So simple, yet so fresh and sophisticated.
just wanted to say - even though this look is gorgeous as usual, tinted spf can’t replace the normal sunscreen! in order to get the spf, you have to apply a pretty thick layer, which you just won’t do with a tinted more makeup-y product.

I recently spent time with a life-long extraordinary friend from boarding school who, like you, was simply born beautiful and has no vanity or over investment in her looks; I look fine and perhaps am lucky and have some kind of longevity gene but she faces, as an architect commissioned to tackle really big world-wide projects and also a museum curator who knows the treasures of say, St. Petersburg intimately, the fact, to quote the journalist Rebecca West in Black Lamb Grey Falcon, that men often "look past her at her beauty' which is the reason she has a great relationship with her son but is no longer married. A bit of a ramble, but i think these video presentations are about much more than aesthetics, and you are one of the best. And the best of wishes!

I use the Coola Rosilliance bb cream with factor 30 for this sort of a look, almost every day. It has a wonderful pearly quality, so it does most of this in just one step.

I really want to use cream eyeshadows but every one I’ve tried quickly gathers in the creases on me. I’ve tried so many-Clinique, Laura Mercier, Mally, Maybelline, Revlon, MAC, Chanel- with & without primer, with and without powdering my eyelids first. I have quite greasy and heavily hooded (genetic, not aging) eyes. Haven’t tried the NudeStix because I’ve become pretty gunshy about cream eyeshadows. Any pointers will be most gratefully received. Love creams rather than powders. I think they look so much more natural on skin. Also love my Go Lightly! It’s the salmon-pink coral of my dreams that I’ve been looking for for 30 years!

Fangirling so hard right now because I've been doing an extremely similar look this whole summer (well just the poor version of it) and I've been loving it. A very small amount of concealer, shimmery eyelids with a shadow on the outer corners, dewy stick highlighter, brow pencil and a salmon lipstick used as a lip tint and a blush. So simple, yet so fresh and sophisticated.

just wanted to say - even though this look is gorgeous as usual, tinted spf can’t replace the normal sunscreen! in order to get the spf, you have to apply a pretty thick layer, which you just won’t do with a tinted more makeup-y product.
