Hi Lisa, I am Korean and I’ve been following you on youtube for the last ten years. You are the best makeup artist who truly understands the fundamentals of Korean skin care and has the ability to combine it and apply it to the western makeup techniques… It’s a rare talent and you are so good at mixing and matching the best techniques of the East and the West. I’ve moved to NYC from Seoul last year and noticed that the make up trend in the US is trending towards more natural make up away from the cakey make up and I strongly feel that you’ve played a big role in that. ❤️ I am a huge fan of yours!!

I know if a Korean girl gives the stamp of approval it’s a winner! I so wish I had a friend in Korea (our neighbors and my stand in mom is Korean-but doesn’t go back to Korea. While I get kimchi when I’m sick I’ve got no one to get into Korean skin care with me).
Do you have any favorite websites for Korean skincare or makeup? I love glowy CC cushions.

Yes! It makes me nuts when people are doing their makeup and they'll start applying a product and just go, "And now I'll boend," and the next clip the makeup is perfectly applied. It's especially annoying when you can see the product application isn't starting off so well and the its perfect.

Hi, Lisa! I'm a teenage girl and you're one of the few beauty channels I enjoy watching. I love your approach to makeup and I really admire your artistry. Often times when I see other beauty content it's to achieve some unrealistic standard and it just doesn't put me in a good place, it's definitely difficult growing up around that culture. But thank you for showing a tutorial with techniques for people who don't have perfect skin. Much love! 💗

I loved this video (and already ordered the new highlighter), but I really appreciate your realism when it comes to the whole “perfect skin” issue. My daughter is only 11 but is starting to have issues with hormonal spots etc and when I try and explain the focus should be on caring for her skin both inside and out she thinks I’m talking rubbish! I had acne as a teenager and really look after my skin and try to teach my daughter the same ethos. I feel really sorry for young girls now, there seems to be so much emphasis on body perfection, skin perfection etc etc and it’s just not realistic. Thank you for being honest about this, I’ll show my daughter and hopefully she’ll believe you. X

every now and then i get told i don’t need skincare products (not even sunscreen they say lmao) or makeup because i’m “young” (i’m 20) but then when i have a bad skin day and don’t wear makeup those same people will tell me my skin looks bad
i have acne-prone skin and your pin-point concealing technique is a huge confidence boost when my skin is acting up - you helped me realise i don’t need as much product as i thought (not that there’s anything wrong with a heavier base), and i’m so so glad i found your channel not long after i started doing makeup (a year or so before uni)
i loved the glass skin technique you shared as well - it was super useful for adapting the dewy skin trend to suit my very oily/shiny skin! so i’m definitely gonna try this glazed skin look the next time i wear makeup!!

You look phenomenal. ♥️ All of this fits you very well - as the true artist that you are (on mixing and matching in this specific case). I was wondering specifically if using loose powder instead of pressed (both clear and pigmented) and would make a noticeable difference?
A big THANK YOU for the tips mentioning “problem” areas. My skin looks much better now (hoping to reach that level of perfection) but I do struggle with the occasional spot, even though I’m 32 and having done skincare religiously for the past decade at the very least. The good thing is that even though I use potent ingredients (or pharmaceutical products), I take my moisturizing and sunscreen very seriously and I actually do not experience any peeling or dry skin. So I cannot wait to try this look myself, I personally prefer it over the “glass skin” which I actually never attempted to do because it seemed a bit too unrealistic for me personally and too shiny for my combination skin. Also, I’ll most likely try this step by step after purchasing Pink Moon because it looks absolutely stunning. (I’m shade 9 so I have high hopes, as Crystal Nebula is also fantastic and I loved you mixing them.) Thank you again for breaking down seemingly easy make-up looks in such detail and being lovely and encouraging as always!

Lisa it would be so cool if you would make a video detailing the work you have done on your face (fillers, botox in which areas) You look amazing but super natural and I would love to learn from you.

Ever since I ruined my skin barrier during the pandemic by using retinoids too much, I've struggled with my skincare. I had to strip back all my products to sensitive skin ones, and even today I'm left with a lot of redness around my nose and chin. I've certainly learned a light touch is better, but I wish I could benefit from masks and peels like others seem to!

It's interesting you pointed out that it's the same look and trend but products were different back then when shimmer products were so glittery; the mica particles were larger. Marilyn Monroe even put Vaseline to highlight her face.

Lisa, could you do a video on how to work with "imperfections" such as freckles, moles, birthmarks, fine lines, etc. Those things that are a natural part of our faces but many might see as flaws. How do we not highlight them but not hide them either? I hope I'm making sense!
As always, thank you for a great tutorial!

Looks that enhance your beauty instead of putting on a mask, which definitely helped me with my confidence in makeup when I was a teenager.😊

You will not BELIEVE how long i have waited to be able to do a glass/glazed/dolphin/greased pig/shiny face At the age of 37i have finally found a skin care routine that works for me, that doesn't give me pimples, and I'm less oily than i used to be (skincare? Age?) And my face is finally where i feel like i can take it to looking moisturised and glowy in a nice way. So this video is super timely, thank you!

Lisa, this is such a beautiful look that is so practical and wearable for most any of us! I am also a very pale lady and I can quickly look over done. Most highlighters are too pigmented for me and look more like lush toppers. I actually have my own formula and pigment blend so my highlighter is entirely in my own, but it’s nice to see that there are some out there that cater to the really light skin ladies!
