Scrap wood olive tray with CNC

  • Let's use some scrap wood and a CNC to make something useful... All steps for this very quick (except for the sanding part... oh God) project using a Euro-Makers Aureus 3X CNC (similar to X-Carve or Shapeoko).

    Using a 4 flute bit you should slow down your spindle, so you dont get the burnt wood.

      Yes there was a lot of sanding in the corners! (And I didn't have enough patience to get rid of all the burnt wood). I was using at that time an older version of GRBL on my machine (0.8 or something) and it was slowing down A LOT when doing arcs. So my spindle speed was okayish in the straights but way too fast in the corners for the advance speed. Now I have upgraded GRBL, it handles arcs better and does not slow down in arcs so I don't have the problem anymore. :)
