Ah, man, that poor Mamma Dog -- during this time of babies coming out into the open, you guys have the best jobs ever -- to me personally, there simply isn't anything cuter than little 7-wk old cubbies walking behind their mother, trying to keep up with their tiny little adorable legs. That said, a close second is a huge mamma rhino walking with her little one in tow in the tall grass, and all you can see are those little ears bopping along -- How on earth can there be so much war existing worldwide at the same time as these little cuties ? One of your guides last week while watching some pride members whose stomachs were ginormous they couldn't move, and in answer to somebody roaring in the distance, kept laying there barely moving their big heads to answer back, and the guide said: we all know how lazy lions are -- Lions are violent Apex predators -- but I love how you guys don't portray them that way. In truth, the guide was right -- lions are lazy -- they sleep 20+ hours a day, except for maybe the males who walk all night patrolling their territories -- and then they come home and immediately flop down on the sofa -- hey, baby, can you bring me a beer -- Mamma: get it yourself -- Because of YOU, I now have all these cubs to take care of -- well, I have had it, I've got to go to the grocery store and you babysit them while I'm gone -- and there'd better be the same number when I come back as when I left -- Male: Ah, damn, I just want to come home and have five minutes of peace to myself. Mamma: What'd you say? Male: I'll be glad to look after the darlings. I'm kinda in the mood for springbok, if they have any -- Mamma: Steam coming out of her ears as she picks up her sisters to see if there's any "springbok" at the store .... I love watching these tiny little cubs walking all over this huge, huge male lion, and he lifts up his giant head and snarls, and the babies are not one bit afraid, they just keep on coming and tugging on tails and mane and playing king of the mountain from dad's shoulders -- so so so cute -- be well, to you all -- cheers, Patricia from the US
