That's slightly more than half damage makes most of the break points. Only two shots against almost every heavy Target for the commando.
This includes:
Two shotting tanks
Two shotting turrets
One shotting hulks in the face
Hitting fabricators and bug holes in any direction
Two shotting regular Chargers to the face
Two shotting behemoth Chargers to the face
Two shotting bile Titan to the face
Considering the EAT has similar break points to most of these enemies, doesn't make the eat obsolete per se, but the commando definitely has a more mobile playstyle considering it can carry around 2 heavy/tank kills with one pickup.
@@DigitalDeath88 the advantage of it comes from not having to go to pick up a the second EAT, giving it more flexibility and choice and also the guided missile thing
@@everfreesnarrations35 the thing with the bile titan is that the face hitbox be so wrong that I almost never take 2 shots might be a skill issue because i know im supposed to aim for the forhead for it to be 2 shots but the bile titans moves so much already that I almost never end up only going for 2 shots to kill
The expendable at isn’t obsolete. It’s perfect as long as you bring it alongside the strategem that made it obsolete
To be fair, it has almost double the cooldown (120s vs 70s)
Time to kill is more important than dammage I can kill charger behemoths and tanks in 2 seconds with the commando rather than 10 seconds with the eat because I have to fiddle around and pick up the other one in the heat of combat. EAT can theoretically 1 shot things still,but you gotta be good.
@@327thepeanut even with double cooldown it’s got half the ammo. And less utility. The guided missile option and the ability to KO fabricators is huge.
@@Paradox1012 move forward when shooting the behemoth charger in the legs with the EAT, guarantees an armor strip and then you can melt it down with normal weapons

About the Factory Strider. ThicFila has a video where he shows the doors on it have separate hp and you want to shoot at the same door on the belly of it to kill it most efficiently.
I want a quad fire mode on commando. It wouldn't be very useful, but having four rockets fire all at one to absolutely obliterate anything would be badass as fuck

@@darkwhipthelasher9178 Personally i like the way it is, for one reason only you need headshots with rockets to make them good. YOu can either blast all 4 at a bile titan and it will still live, or headshot it twice and kill it. That is one major flaw i find with this game that explosive weapons needs headshots.
It's funny I've seen as many people claiming the Commando has made the EAT obsolete as people saying the Commando is pointless because the EAT.

I find the commando more aggressive and mobile, and the EAT more defensive and position based.
The commando is more mobile because you carry everything on one launcher, and it has a longer cooldown.
While the eat rocket drops two separate Rockets, on a very short cool down which feels a lot better for defensive situations, where you're holding a position for a few minutes.
That’s good, makes it balanced.
It can also kill the factory strider in just 2 missiles if you hit the fron sensor.
Oh yeah! I just got one of those kills this evening, it was really cool. Was using that little reddit trick that says that the weakpoint is more generous than the sensor itself, it's the front grill (so everything to the right of the sensor as well) and got it!
I'm very curious if it can break the side armor of a factory strider in one shot, that'd be another two shot from a different angle

The commando, EAT, precision strike and the air burst strike combined together creates a sort of rapid-cooldown load out that can decimate bots.
When it comes to bile titans, ALWAYS aim for the forehead. If you absolutely have to hit them in the mouth, go for it. But you’ll be doing significantly less damage. The forehead is where you can two shot them.
Its like the Commando is 50% Spear Damage, making the EAT and Recoilless to be between 50%-90% Spear Damage.
I don't like to count Bile Titans and Hulks. Because of the way the devs "balance" both enemies, their results begin to vary a lot.
Regarding bug holes, you dont actiully have to hit inside the hole, you just need to hit the bug hole itself to destroy it with the commando.
Also with tanks and towers, you can 2 shot them even on the front, dont have to hit the weak spot, altough that is with me shooting tank turrets, have not tested on chassi of the tank itself.

Commando feels generous with regards to bug holes, yesterday i managed to shut a bug hole by hitting it from the side, so the hole itself was not in the line of sight
I feel like the Commando will feel way better when the bug that keeps Bile Titan heads from sometimes taking damage gets fixed
Are you talking about when they spit? I don't think that's a bug
Quick note about tanks and turrets, you can actually shoot them from the front with two shots and it will kill them.
You have to hit just beside the actual barrel of the gun and you can two shot any tank or turret
I love the laser guiding system, and how you can flip it off to shoot straight

This is what I wanted to see in the video. 3 rockets though? Sheesh! That’s a lot. Will still most likely use this exclusively for Bugs. I’m good with my spear for the bots.
I was using commando and eat together and it was some the most fun iv had
I wish there was a mode that fired 2 rockets at the same time.

you can fire them as fast as you can click, even in laser guided mode!
For the big boys the commando 2shots on weakspots of titans/behemoth charger/tanks/ striders / cannons.
It 1shots chargers/ hulks/ spewers.
Paired with eat you will always have somthing to deal with heavy enemies. Great tool and a big W for divers
The Autocannon was also taking out Jammers in the same way. Just pop the vent hood at the right angle and down the whole thing goes.
Sadly only when RNG gives us a fabricator right next to the jammer.

Against bugs, I’d still prefer something like the quasar or recoilless, but this feels amazing against bots. The guided missile feels like it was made for gunships

It's really good at Bug Holes too. Almost never fails to destroy them. Unlike so many other things that can be finicky.
It’s so refreshing that we could finally drop a mentality that every thing will come out in terrible state so AH won’t need to balance it.
Still makes me worried they are just going to nerf it
Another massive advantage this has over the EAT is how fast the missiles come online. The EAT has a few seconds of prep before actually getting to fire it when you pick one up or take it off of your back.
That and when you call in the EAT the second shot remains where you dropped it as opposed to coming with you like the Commando.
haven't played the game since this stratagem's release, it looks hella fun to use. i gotta test it out soon!

It's likely inconsistent against bile titans due to the current bug that it causing titans to sometimes take no damage when hit in the face. It's been listed under the known issues for the last several patches. Hopefully when that's fixed it'll be an easy 2 shot.

If you pause the video at 10:24 and aim exactly where the missile is heading and before it hits aim to its head it’ll 2 shot it 80% of the time. The lower jaw is the weak spot so aiming for the bile sack and then aiming up will destroy it.
I was really surprised that it can 1 shot the factories. That's nuts!
Important thing not mentioned, this is also a backpackless heavy AT, of which we previously had only 2, the quasar and the eat it, neither of which felt particularly handy to use. So now there is an all around solid AT choice to bring when you want to play loader as an alternative to the multitude of crowd control options.
I run both Commando and EAT in my loadouts now. It helps to strew them around the map as I go.
My teammates love it.
The commando has high demolition so with the bug holes, you're probably still missing but doesn't matter. You can shoot to the side of a bug hole and you still destroy it. Same with factories. Also works the same with weak points (why it two shots bile titans and factory striders) so more damage if you're precise.
@SwanyPlaysGames would you rank it higher than the reworked Spear?
You can get more shots off with the Commando quickly and with its shorter cooldown but there’s something to be said for the Spear locking on from distance.
Weighing up the two is now proving a slight (but welcome) headache of choice.
Spear is great for gunships, as soon as its locked on and fired you know it'll take it down and can just move onto the next target before it's even connected. Guess there's a speed to fire vs damage trade off. Spear definitely hits harder but has to reload etc. That said you can also top it up with a resupply as well.
Spear has more uptime and can be resupplied. You can find more ammo for the spear even while under a strat jammer or ion storm.
@@nekminnitSpear is fantastic at long range support. I've helped teammates with fabricators, hulks, and gunships from halfway across the map with it. The Commando fits extremely well for closer range firepower. Faster RoF and shorter cooldown than the Spear while having guidance and more shots on demand to the EAT make it a competitive middle ground
Both have their place, the Spear is superb at taking down gunships and heavy units from a distance. The Commando doesn't have the endurance of the Spear, but its lack of a reload time and expendable nature means it's not as much of a waste to use against devastators and scout walkers. The Commando doesn't use a backpack slot which lets you take a backpack. Basically, the Commando is more versatile, while the Spear is more powerful as a dedicated anti-heavy unit weapon.

I really wish they would let you use both walkers in tandem if they are gonna allow for things like this running double expendable anti tank weapons. Having a total of 4 walkers in exchange for 2 stratagem slots over the course of a 40min mission really doesn't sound all that OP to me with how easily you can lose an arm or the entire mech.
Agreed. I usually dropped with two mechs until they patched the bug that let me take both. It was a strong loadout, but not OP because the half of the mission where I didn't have a mech I was mostly toothless due to being down two strategms.

Yeah, and im glad they are waiting till performance is improved. Because some of those forest maps really made my game chug. But I am looking forward to a mostly mech load out one day.
@@jesserodriguez4370 I heard that too, but I'm doubtful since both me and my buddy took two mechs on plenty of games and had no issues at all. The game has plenty of performance issues, but the mechs don't seem to contribute to them any more than other strategms.
I had a great time taking the EAT and the commando at the same time when we had access to it on X45
3:39 you can shoot the bug holes from the side or the back, and they will get destroyed when using the commando
You don't even need to hit a weakspot on a tank/tank turret. Just hit the turret cap twice and it explodes. Same if you hit twice from the side or rear on the body iirc.
Another cool thing about the commando with bug holes is that you can destroy them from all sides like the bot fabricator you don’t actually have to aim for the hole

In my opinion, it really doesn’t phase out the EAT at all. Sure, it’s much more flexible, but with the EAT’s very short cooldown, you can just keep calling it down over, and over, having it be ready at the right time that you need it.
You’re pretty much choosing based on preference at that point.

My goofy ass using EAT, commando, recoiless, and rocket sentry
As an OG Diver! This is my favorite NOW! Going GREAT with my Juggernaut build.
This thing saves on the need to bring in airstrikes for bot bases. So you can bring in other weapons and support assets.
The commando is more utilitarian than the disposeables. People do argue it can be battle as you're carrying roughly the same firepower. Though you do have to learn to double tap in quick succession with the commando such as against dropships or cannons. And with it's range it can be quite helpful dealing with outposts at range so you can keep proceeding to the objective. The cool down isn't really a problem as most of the time, your teammates will be dealing with the horde clearing whilst you can focus on the buildings or vehicles. Only time I've had to worry about cooldowns is when my teammates aren't pulling their weight and there's constant dropships.
2 things important about it is that it takes 2 shots on any side of a tank to take it down, and it kills every charger in 2 shots
I use orbital precision strike, orbital gatling barrage and the EAT with the commando launcher so I can always have a offensive option for heavies
The only problem I have with the commando is that if it takes hitting the weak spots for heavy enemies then it seems to be weaker than the auto cannon or that charge up launcher cause you have to hit them in the eye too but you can do more with them as well.
Still love it but concerned it doesn't fill enough of a roll with what we already have. At least it'd tons of fun

Dosent matter because you can spam them. So you can kill a behemoth charger or a bile titan consistently with 2 rockets rather than needing to fiddle around and relaod
Most things the regular AT weapons need 2 shots to kill such as tanks, will still be 2 shot by the commando. Also one shots gunship thrusters and hulk eyes.
About 65% of the damage. Against many targets it takes one extra rocket.
I say take both if you wanna be an 'Elite' enemy killer. They compliment each other rather well and are quick to call them in

I suspect the Bile Titan inconsistency is to do with the laser. I'd recommend seeing how to it feels with the laser off, and using it like an EAT
I feel like we can give the commando some slack on Bile Titan killing consistency, considering that the known bug section says "Bile Titan sometimes does not take damage to the head"
I use it together with My spear. Pretty much I spawn the commando to take out fabricators to save on spear ammo for more important things xD
Can it strip charger front leg armor in one shot?
Let's be honest, the bile titan is Arrowhead's sacred cow. They are perfect and beautiful and don't you dare say anything bad about them. They've needed a rework for a while but they just won't do it. Every other bug enemy can be killed with normal weapons (with much difficulty) but not the bile titan.
I prefer the EATs on missions where you have to hunker down and defend a position for a while since they deal more damage and have a lower cooldown. For everything else, either the Commando or Spear.
I want a heavy gatling gun backpack support weapon to pair with this.
I can't believe the spear only JUST got fixed before this came out. It;s the best rocket launcher overall by far

nope
I've often seen polls asking which is more difficult - the automaton hulk or the terminid titan, and I'm always surprised how many people call the hulks difficult. Considering how inconsistent titanium is in terms of its destruction (I still think this is due to its crooked model and the same hitboxes).

You know what is a role of EAT in the bot missions? Shoot down dropships, you can down two with one stratagem, what if players got suddenly a way to destroy 4 of them with one stratagem? EAT would be obselete... Yeas, EAT has shorter cooldown but you can still use it once per bot drop, so commando would be OP if it downed 4 dropships.
Shooting down a dropship is rarely a good idea. It only kills the tier one enemies, and it also gives the larger enemies cover on the ground. It's better too directly shoot the bots when they are hanging on racks in the dropship, or shoot them instantly when they deploy on the ground.
It depends how high the dropship is when you shoot it. It doesn't kill all the enemies, but it does heavily damage them and make dealing with the rest easier.
Sounds awesome against bugs
Commando: Efficient against Nests and Factories.
EAT: Efficient against Large Enemy Units
it makes sense naming-wise.
TLDR: Eat good for old basic chargers, Commando is better every other way with more ammo and spawner closing, struggling only with gunships.
For automatons, i found tanks getting hit in front 2 shots works as well, and hulks was 2 or 3 shots anywhere in case you don't have time to aim, beating out the 2 shots of eats. Gunships the 2 shots anywhere works too, and works and well for the odd factory but really struggles if a patrol of 6 shows up and for me loses out to spear or amr. Dropships 2 shots is comparable to one eat as each missile appears to do half damage i.e. destroying same dropship as eats, but yu can fire in quick succession and don't need to swap beating out eat for me. The main weakness is gunships, necessitating teammates to cover patrols.
Biggest comparison for me though is bugs, eats would still be preferable for old bugs with 1 hit headshot chargers, but 2 needed for behemoths gives commando one up for needing 3 rockets with 1 to spare or crack armor with more to spare. Eat was good to share 1 with team, but without perfect accuracy on hulk eyes and with behemoth chargers or even bile titans head clipping into back on helldive bugs you now regularly use both or MORE, and commando doesn't need you to pick up another. If any shots miss or barely don't kill, you can dump 4 and your target is dead, not to mention spawners closing. As no rockets really work for groups and commando has 4 rockets that can close holes you free up your grenades for groups if really needed.
Posted this elsewhere, but here it goes.
Maybe not a popular take, but the cool down difference is not that big vs EATs, hence making this just better than getting EATs. Add to the fact that it can burst down targets quicker vs picking up an EAT, shooting, dropping, and getting another one and shooting as well.
With the upgrades to the cool down, it's only 40 seconds longer.
I suggest lengthening the CD to flat 2 mins with upgrades to differentiate better.
If the Commando had a 180 second cooldown, it would still be competitive with the EATs.
@@joshfritz5345 hmmm... I feel 180 might be excessive, but just keep it at 120 with all upgrades. Should be a great tradeoff.
You can take down the dropship with one shot, just aim for the corner leg. I made a video about it too and took them down with just one missile
What confuses me is that it can take out fabricators without having to shoot into the door when opened or into the exhaust, but a recoiless and the EAT can’t…
7:31 It's actually only 3 to the same door on the belly. In your clip you shoot two at one door, hit the 3rd shot at the other door, then land the last shot on the first door you shot.
It’s a nice secondary to my spear if I need to take out something while my spear is out or on cooldown
On defense missions I run EATs and the Recoilless and am my team's dedicated anti air. On normal missions, I run Commando + EATs + backpack, or Commando + Recoilless/ Airburst, depending on whether I need horde clear or anti armor.
I typically always ran at least one stratagem to take on bile titans or factory striders but the commando pretty much replaced that slot for me

Lower damage compared to a eat(can't one shot an IFV to the front)but has more control over what you hit instead of just missing you can even sniper further away

Taking out the radar jammer from a distance is by far the most useful part of this weapon over others.
It should have a fire all 4 at once that does more splash damage at the cost of using all 4 for one massive shot

So essentially meta for bots would be the auto cannon, commando, eagle airstrike, and any other stratagem you might want? Me personally orbital laser
I also would recommend the ship stratagem where the commando would deploy as soon as I throw the support beacon on the ground
There are plenty of loadouts that work well against bots.
-Rocket + AC + gatling sentries
-Commando + any backpack heavy weapon
-Napalm + gas strike + cluster bomb + precision strike
-Grenade launcher + supply backpack + any anti armor
-HMG + supply backpack + any anti armor
-One player brings recoilless, the other the airburst launcher, they carry each other's backpacks and reload each other
EAT and Commando seems like a cool combo
It is. It's also a good backup weapon to the Spear or any other backpack dependant heavy weapon.

wait i just realised, laser guided? are we fighting some flying behemoth in the future?
I feel like bile titan's head is bugged now. I could use 2 spear shots to its head and it would do nothing (not even make him bleed) but i could see 2 direct impact marks on his head. AFAIK the most consistent way to kill it is by shooting top of the top plate on its head, any other place is just not working as if it has diffrent hitbox or just none.
so you know how the spear always one-shots tanks and cannon turrets cuz it hits them from the top? You can do that manually with the commando by flicking the laser down after firing a rocket over it.
Also i guess Bile Titans are bugged and they can spawn with headshot resistance?
No charger behemoth test? The behemoths have been rampant on the bug front for weeks, figured they’d be a pretty big factor in determining how good this thing is.
So the Commando is like a Krak Missile in 40K vs a Frag Missile that perhaps the disposable might be if it has a larger AOE yet not quite as powerful vs some armor. Interesting to know. 🏴☠
