I spent two hours watching my best friend try to beat this boss and the farthest he got was about half health, I showed him this and his pride broke a little. Good job man.
YOU ARE A GOD! TELL ME YOUR SECRETS! I will praise you. This is amazing I have seen many people die in like two seconds but you did so well! Also great video :)
*First few seconds of watching him chain combos with magic* Me: "oh neat! Where's the spam?" *watches him Activate final form and cook lingering will like a shish kabob in 12 seconds* Me: "there it is!"
The LW takes more damage the more hits are in your combo, so this absolute genius munchkin used Firaga and Final Form to craft a combo so long it could take down the LW in two rounds while not triggering a counterattack. Also, the LW didn't use his more annoying attacks.
I beat Lingering Will the first time when I was 12, it took me like so many times try, but once I learn the pattern and use final form a lot just like this, I knew the key.
Firaga doesn't trigger a counterattack as quickly as just whacking him. In the lingo, it has low "revenge value". That means you can string together longer combos, and the LW is special in that the damage you deal is almost entirely based on combo length, not your stats. Plus, the LW started the fight with that cannon, and reflecting that back at him makes the next combo start out doing lots of damage rather than slowly increasing.
HOLY SHIT!!! YOU MADE HIM YOUR BITCH!!! Unfortunately, I'm not sure you can use this technique anymore in 2.5. There's a lag, in this version of the game, when you activate a form.
+FandeJay Actually there is a fix for that problem, it's called pause buffer. You pause the game right after activating a form then wait for about 2 seconds and resume, the form will be loaded and you won't lose any time.
+Terry Washington (bigtee1000) The amount of finishers you can use depends on how long your combo is. Since Terra's HP works differently from other bosses, his revenge value is doubled. Two things to keep in mind is that Firaga only increases the revenge value at the finishing move and attacking without a break (like in the end with the Final Form) can prevent the revenge temporarily.
@@_NeonFlame_ nahh his 2nd stage is a forced revenge value, meaning if his health goes down to like 6 bars i think? he will 100% retaliate but in here sora is staggering him like crazy which I didn't know was possible
@@Waltzon. Final Form Firaga doesnt add revenge value you can skip the value but after you finish user final form firaga hes gonna retaliaye because his HP is past I think were on the same point Idk
What're your stats looking like? Usually Magic is situational in KH2 and KH2FM and by that I mean it rarely if ever shines unlike it does in Birth By Sleep or KH3. It's impressive you took the time make sure Sora's magic was decent so Bond of Flame Firaga spamming would obliterate Lingering Will! Nice! I just wish the game wasn't so biased towards Strength/Melee combat lol.
Hey, man. Yeah, I'm here, I still read every comment. To be honest, I don't really remember exactly what I had equipped, I think I might've removed all of their abilities but I'm not sure. The only thing to note here is to keep the party members alive to use Final Form at the end, so I equipped them both with Mega Potions.
+Nick Ngo As you could see, Final Form + Firaga pretty much does all the work, however there was a little of AI manipulation, if you wanna know more about it try searching about Revenge Values.
"Revenge value" is how likely an attack is to make a boss break out of your combo and counterattack. Each hit builds up a hidden number toward a certain threshold for each boss. Firaga doesn't build revenge value as fast as normal attacks. And the Lingering Will takes more damage from each hit as your combo continues. Put it together with Final Form's enhanced magic and combo length, and you have a combo long enough to kill him in two rounds. It would still take godly precision and timing, and the LW's AI picked easy moves to capitalize on.
+Peter R. for starters, that's not critical mode, second, and this is coming from someone whos fought this jerk on critical, none of sora's forms are powerful enough to kill him that fast, even at max, again I should know. So, the only two conclusions is that either A, this isn't on critical or B, he cheated. (with mods probably)
+Zeronial01 First, you can tell this is Critical Mode just by looking at the screen, since on critical you don't get more than 60 HP. About the damage, I'm using Bond of Flame and a Fire Boost giving roughly 40% damage bonus on fire attacks. If you still think I cheated, you can do this setup and see it for yourself.
Sorry, I didnt see your comment so I didn't reply right away. The reason why I made that earlier comment is because after watching your video, I did the same thing after grinding my ass off in the end section of the cavern of memberance and getting all the boost I could get from defeating the digital bossess. Secondly, hp doesn't mean shit because for all I know, you could have just lvl up to a point and then equiped the no exp skill to masqurade yourself as playing on critical like other players in the past. The only way to varify that someone is playing on critical is if you pause the game and show that your on critical. Finally, if I recall correctly, when i did what you did in the video, I believe it only knocked out about 1 to 2 health bars before things went to shit, but I can't accuretly recall the exact amount of hp lost because it was over a year ago since I beat terra, but I already confirmed that what you proposed doesn't work. The damning evidence going against you though, is that all the speed runners who've played this game on critical would have used your technique if it really worked.

if i did final form off the start i could in thoery knock off 3 or 4 health bars in a full aerial combo in critical mode at around 100ish strength

Honestly i found this way more enjoying to watch and stylish than those people just abusing the revenge value with the looping.
I mean this is kind of the same thing in the end, spamming fire in final form and the final form combo which trigger the revenge values much later
Every enemy gangsta 'till Sora bursts out Final Form.

Wow. This also works on the PS3 version of the game. You just need to pause buffer for Final Form to load fast enough.
