    Your video was my inspiration for collaborating with my wife on our 13-day visit to Ireland. I am recommending it to everyone. What a fantastic resource. Recently retired, in reasonably good shape, but by no means are we serious hikers, we were able to enjoy daily 1 to 2 hour hikes at many of the sites, while fitting in visits to castles, cathedrals, abbeys, loughs and glens. We stayed at 8 different Air BnB sites, ranging from a guest room in a Dublin townhouse, to a condo in Belfast, to a stay on a working sheep farm in County Donegal, and working dairy farm in County Waterford. Anyone going to Ireland, should in my opinion, follow your advice and get a car and travel around as much as possible. A few amazing spots for others to consider: The Gobbins Sea Cliff walk in Northern Ireland, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge near the Causeway which by the way has some fantastic trails - it so much more than just the amazing causeway, Poisen Glen, just down the road from Glenveagh National Park (a road side pull off), Kylemore Abbey, County Galway, Muckross Abbey in Killarney National Park, Mahon Falls, County Waterford - really off the beaten path, reminded me of the rugged beauty of County Donegal, Rock of Cashel, Kilkenny which is home to two beautiful cathedrals (St. Mary's and St. Candice's), an amazing castle, a vibrant city center with a lovely river walk. We also made it to Waterford, Ireland's oldest city, and home to several museums in the Viking Triangle. The museum near the Spanish Arch in Galway is free, and also worth a visit, as is the humble Irish Folk Village and Famine Museum near the Rock of Cashel. Since we visited in early September, we decided to take a counter clockwise route, going from Dublin to Belfast to Donegal to Sligo to Galway to Kerry to Waterford to Wicklow to Dubin. We loved the trip and wish we had the resources to return again soon. We loved the Glenveagh Glen Hike. The food at the cafe was amazing, and reasonably priced. Thanks again for your educational and inspirational video. Well done and very much appreciated. Fellow Travelers - don't miss the French Bakery in Killarney, and for a similar experience, checkout the CakeFace cafe in Kilkenny.

    As a way of saying thank you for developing this fantastic itinerary, my wife and I like to imagine you using this token of appreciation to enjoy an amazing Irish Breakfast, like the one we enjoyed near the Westport Bay at the Creel. We had the Irish Meat Hash with an extra fried egg, and split the dish. Paired with a flat white for me and a Fluffy Bunny for my wife, this was a great meal to stoke us up for our drive to Kylemore Abbey. Or maybe you can enjoy a quiet lunch at an out of the way cafe. The Kingfisher Kitchen in Enniskerry village in Wicklow county is something we would recommend if you ever make it over towards Powerscourt Estate - the waterfall there is amazing. Of course you might also might prefer using this for a dinner in one of the local pubs. After our day in Glenveagh National Park, we enjoyed the drive to Dungloe where McCafferty's served us delicious fresh mussels from Killybegs and a Seafood Pie paired with Guinness to put a nice bow on a lovely day. Your video informed and inspired us. Thanks again.

    I love Ireland!! My wife and I went there last April for ten days and we rented a car and traveled west to Gortahork at our airbnb. Traveled south for a week! That was my first time being in Ireland! I dream about everyday! It’s truly my favorite place in the world!!

    I was excited about planning a trip to Ireland until I started watching videos posted by travelers visiting Ireland. I was presented with only the souvenir shops and pubs, the former being of no interest to me. Your videos have me excited again. You are authentic and are not a mere clueless traveler with an iPhone.

      The usual places are heavily promoted by Tourism Ireland. Kerry, Clare, Galway, Kilkenny, Dublin, Belfast and the Causeway coast. These places are beautiful but you need to explore and not just visit the Instagram locations (Blarney Castle, Cliffs of Moher, Giant’s Causeway etc.) Tourists come here unaware that there’s anything else to see. The entire north west might as well not exist.

    I love what you had to say at 7:00 about creating an off the beaten path itinerary. I'm traveling to Ireland in a couple weeks for a group tour that goes to the "Hidden Northwest" and you've hit a lot of the same places we'll be going. I love that we're going to see things that not a lot of people get to see. Of course, I'll also be spending a few nights in Dublin and Galway apart from the rest of the group, but I'm most excited about that week we're hitting Sligo, Sliabh Liag, Glenveagh, and Letterkenny. Cheers!

Squeeze in visits to places in Mayo, such as Downpatrick Head, and enjoy a viewpoint of Benbulben on the way to Slieve League. After that, we'll explore the most authentic places in North Donegal on our journey to Giant's Causeway. Hope it helps, enjoy 😍☘️

    • @SomethingToRemember
      @SomethingToRemember  4 месяца назад

      Hi, thank you! ☺️ B&Bs are the way to go - cheaper than hotels but just as comfortable. It's best to book in advance to secure better deals. Ireland can be quite expensive, so planning ahead is key to saving money. Enjoy ☘️

      Hi! Thank you 😊 Ireland is actually quite strict on marriages - you have to give 3 months notice to the state and usually catholic priests will only marry people from the local area - they’re also likely to be very busy and booked out well in advance! We hope you find a loophole 😅💍

    Ok I have a question, we will be flying into Shannon on Halloween and we will be staying 2 nights in Limerick, after that we don't have anything booked. The reason is because we didn't want to be tied down, if we found a place we really liked , we might want to stay longer or vice versa and didn't want to always be rushing trying to get to our room. Is that a stupid idea 😂. Do you think it will be to hard book as we go? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

    • @SomethingToRemember
      @SomethingToRemember  Месяц назад

      We usually advise booking in advance because it’s cheaper and there are more options to choose from. However, since you are traveling during the off-season, it might be a good idea to book as you go. This way, you can adjust your itinerary according to the weather🌧️ Good luck ☘️
