Blaming Anthony Davis for being outplayed by Jokic is like blaming Clyde Drexler being outplayed by Michael Jordan or Paul George for losing to Lebron back when PG was on the Pacers. People like Stephen A just either don't respect Jokic or just can't stand the fact that he is the best player in the game. Jokic is considerably better than Anthony Davis and he really shouldn't be blamed. Jokic is that unstoppable. The difficulty in defending him is exemplified in the alley oop dunk to Aaron Gordon near the end of the game. Jokic was shooting a hook shot and made it into a pass to Gordon so late in the action that nobody can possibly react to it. He is that great and smart of a basketball player. When you play Jokic, its not one on one defense, all 5 guys have to defend because he can pick apart any vulnerability in the defense. He is one of the very few players in the history of basketball capable of doing that.
Jordan was dominant player on both ends. There was no way clyde would school jordan who was a great defensive player. Jokic can’t stop AD defensively. AD could’ve 100 percent gone for 40 plus on jokic but its his mindset and willingness to compete against a player like jokic.

Thats the thing, Davis is not as good offensively as you think. Guys who hurt Jokic at the center position are perimeter or 3p shooting centers not interior players. He is not a good rim protector but he is actually a very good interior defender against his own man. if you watch Davis can't really finish well in the post against him. Embiid is a guy who can hurt Jokic because he is a much better scorer from the perimeter than Davis.

Nuggets ability to close out games is top tier. Its not just jokic and murray, the role players always step and hit timely shots/make winning plays. It was Gordan, mpj, and holiday down the stretch this game and last year during the WCF it was brown and jeff green who made numerous clutch plays. The nuggets is what happens when you build a team the right way slowly and methodically over time developing players. And the lakers are an example of how you build a team the wrong way constantly trading away great young talent that never gets developed in house. There are no shortcuts in life.
The most important thing is they recognized Jokic as a unique talent early and built a team around him that fits perfectly. It doesn't matter how long it took if you don't ever get that generational talent. Lakers had it with Kobe and Magic. Lebron is great but not enough of a two way player anymore and AD is not him.

No 39 year old has ever been expected to be the best defender and scorer on a team. Without him they lose by 30, AD got outplayed and the coach refuses to play with size but you blame the guy whose carrying the team
If you want to stop or minimize Jokic offense you must either try to deprive him of the ball or apply body tight defense. You almost need to rub your body against him without fouling. You need to make him uncomfortable (like Beverly style). Giving him space will not work. Lastly, assign a primary defense and a secondary blocker. Just a thought.
