It is true that Steph and Klay have 4 chips, but they have way much better support than what Luka and Kyrie have now. Not even mention KD, Draymond is an all-star player. Iguodala was the final MVP when the Warriors won the first championship. Besides Luka and Kyrie, none of the current Mavericks players is even close to all-star level. Steph didn't win the final MVP until the last championship.

We don't know if this is the best backcourt ever because they haven't won anything. This year is Kyrie's peak prime year. Athletically, he's a couple of years past it, but mentally he hit his peak this season. He won't be better than this, but if he can stay healthy, he can put in 2-4 solid years beside Luka. Luka is still 2-7 years away from his prime, so we really have no idea how good he is yet. His defense is improving, along with his shooting, but we won't know how good he actually is until 2029 at the earliest. If, in 2029, Luka has 3+ rings, he will be seen one way. If he has 0, he'll be seen another way. As for the duo, let's see if they win anything before putting them up there with Steph and Klay.

Luka and Kyrie scored over 30 points together for 3 games in this playoff season. No backcourt has done that in the last 50 years. It is true that Steph and Klay have 4 chips, but they have way much better support than what Luka and Kyrie have now. Not even mention KD, Draymond is an all-star player. Iguodala was the final MVP when the Warriors won the first championship. Besides Luka and Kyrie, none of the current Mavericks players is even close to all-star level. Steph didn't win the final MVP until the last championship.

We don't know if this is the best backcourt ever because they haven't won anything. This year is Kyrie's peak prime year. Athletically, he's a couple of years past it, but mentally he hit his peak this season. He won't be better than this, but if he can stay healthy, he can put in 2-4 solid years beside Luka. Luka is still 2-7 years away from his prime, so we really have no idea how good he is yet. His defense is improving, along with his shooting, but we won't know how good he actually is until 2029 at the earliest. If, in 2029, Luka has 3+ rings, he will be seen one way. If he has 0, he'll be seen another way. As for the duo, let's see if they win anything before putting them up there with Steph and Klay.
