I had some overheating issues on my 1991 Honda Accord. So I decided to do this video and show you how I went about checking out my problem...
nice video man. i have the same 91 accord my issue is the car start overheating when the ac is on and the car is on stop. actually its getting worse it can’t even hundle a red light lol 😞
Love the fact that you take the time to show which size socket you use on the various parts you are troubleshooting. People don't show the tools involved often enough. Much appreciation
your Earned a Sub boss Thanks for the Info
Thank you very much, I appreciate it 😁👍
Thanks for tip bro . I have same problem with my Honda Accord LX 2001 👍😁👍
I have a 94 accord and I checked fans, switches, relay, water pump, thermostat, headgasket and engine is overheating. I'm going to try flushing. If that doesn't work I'm checking the ecu
when testing the relays.... does black go to copper and red to silver?
Dude, just because the relay coil powers up and the relay clicks does not mean that the relay is good. It still may not be putting out voltage on terminal 87, or it may have no voltage supply on terminal 30. This could mislead people to overlook an electrical issue because they heard the relay click.
In this case then, what else would you test for & how?
@@winstonbuzon In this particular case, looks like you got to the correct conclusion. I was simply saying that just because a relay clicks does not mean that it is doing everything it is supposed to do. The output stage contacts could be burned up or broken off. Such a relay would still click when you put power and ground to terminals 85 and 86. Also, if a fuse is blown that supplies power to terminal 30 of the relay, it will still click when you put power and ground to terminals 85 and 86. If you had such on problem in this case, you would have overlooked it. Luckily, you didn't. Still, with this engine, once it has been overheated, the head gasket is very likely to allow compression into the coolant at high RPMS, because the cylinder head warps so easily. If the engine didn't have a problem with that after the repair, you're very lucky.
Exelen video really helpful.
Thank you 👍
good job
Desmond Smikle thank you :)
That's really help me thank you so much
Thank you for the insight i greatly appreciate it
Nuff respect to you bro
Thank you :)
Hopefully somebody reads this, so recently I just bought a CB7 (92) and I don't know what the previous owner did to the electrical connections like having the fans directly to the battery which was annoying so tried to fix it now the fan only stays on if the car is on but when I turn on the AC the other fan turns on and supposedly it's overcooling and when I turn off the AC it turn off 1 fan and overheats so I really need some help with the fans.
did you figure it out?
my turbo eg get this overheating problem dont know what is going on..radiator new....using electric fan control by standalone ecu.....when going fast it will raise the heat meter...so much pain inthe ass....car just got new rebuild engine....its going to overheat too when im using a/c...fuck
thanks for the helpful videos, i have a CB7 as well, iam looking forward for your next projects 👍🏼
Respect to you man. I love how thorough your vid is on this. If only I had the money for the h23 swap! Lol. I have a nice kept cb7 my grandad bought brand new. 93 se gold. 👍. I trying to figure out for the life of me why mine keeps overheating. Now has oem stat. Bled the system I don't know how many times. Still overheats! Only seems to be when I'm climbing hills with ac on. No issues at idle. Fans work as they need to. I turn ac off and crank heater on and cools right back down. As I continue climbing the hill or putting a heavy load on the engine in a similar way, even with the heater on it still starts climbing back up. Any help would be appreciated! Once again great video!
Anthony Wigren When you bled your system, did you also "burp" the excess air out?
Winston Buzon Oh yes! Sorry. That's what I meant my bleeding the system. Sorry I should have been more specific on that. But I'm still having the overheat problem after doing that.
@@winstonbuzon update! Found out my water pump was going out on me. Not very common on that! Got a new water pump and timing belt installed and she runs like new again. 255,000 miles later. 😊👍
@@mailmanjoe that's awesome! I'm very happy to see that :)
Can this problem make your cooling fan keep running as well?
Yes. Thanks ! I liked your video.
Thx man I am having this problem.
Great video, got me motivated to finish the 97 SH
Nice! Good luck! 😁👍
Thank you for the video really great and helpful
Hey Winston, when you have time can you do a video on how to replace the headlight bulb on the is300. Thanks.
+Johnny Shao You're in luck! One of my headlight bulbs went out, so video coming soon once I'm able to buy the bulbs. (They're REALLY expensive...)
I'm having the same problem with my car
New video coming this week!
Thank you for showing how to do this. great work. PS on my old cb7 I used the accord water neck sensor and not the one at the rear of the block.
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last days :)
@Sergio Jacoby yea, I have been using instaflixxer for since november myself :D
excellent video Winston
Thank you . Great video 👌
Good and helpful video, would be more helpful if you'd show where you're setting your voltmeter to. Can't get the same readings.
I'm trying to find out to bro, if you find out let me no thank you
Helpful. Going to try it on my 96
Amazing car fixed
Nice videos.
I have a question i have a 1990 Honda Accord Ex automatic transmission. I want to swap the motor on my car to this motor H23A from your experience what are the thing I would need to make the swamp DMV legal and to make work on my 1990 Honda accord??? Thanks
First, you should decide if you want to stay auto or go manual. If you're going to stay auto, just swap with a newer or rebuilt motor. Second, if you are going manual, then go VTEC H22 or H23 like mine. All I can tell you is that theres more issues you may run into with the H23A swap, whereas the H22A is more plug & play, but is very common. Neither swap is smog or BAR legal if you dont have the visual parts (OEM intake system & exhaust manifold) installed. Last but not least, with the H23A swap, you'll need additional parts to use the PCB ECU
@@winstonbuzon thanks. But can i put a H23A motor on an automatic transmission?
@@samueltapiajr8826 sorry, but I wouldn't know
@@winstonbuzon thank you love your videos...
Did everything.. and the fan still don’t run .. I replaced the sensor already
How's the Thermostat?
Good video man thanks
Thumbs up..
what sensor was that i’m getting confused about fan switch/ coolant temperature
Thanks for the video. I'm having the same problem with my 92 prelude S. I've changed all switches and sensors except that one....I think.
I’m so glad I found this!!! I’ve been having to pull over on the freeway to cool down a bit, in the middle of 100 degree weather. Subbed
smart move very good
When I use jump wire in the fan switch plug itself to see if fan will go on the fan doesn't go on and I have replaced the fan relays and fan dont go on by useing jump wire in the plug for fan switch this problem started after I had changed my whole ignition and theres these 3 tiny wires that was tapped into my old ignition switch wiring harnesess and I think my brother may have hooked them 3 tiny wires wrong tapping them wires into my new ignition switch both wire harness under the dash how do I find out if he tapped into the right wires of my ignition both wire harnesses to the right wires because after that made my radiator fan hardly go on and has now made when fan will finally go on for just a few seconds then fan will go off for a very long time but when fan does go on the fan now turns counter clockwise and not turn clockwise
hi winston.. im having trouble with my civic 96 ni vtec. it keeps on overheating. i just changed the gasket.. and i think theres a hairline leak in the gasket. my question is.. may rad fan kicks up late (i think) it took a while to kick in. will it be possible for a sensor like the one on ur vid to have the need to be in super hi temp to kick the fan in? can i chek it using the same meter? pls do reply. badly needed..
Same thing with my cb7....i just got it putvf22 back in it....now I'm putting all new sensors
how can i contact you for some info my prelude fans are not working
You can email me at: wbuzon30@gmail.com
should both fans come on if the ac is running? i have a 96 Honda accord?
One fan comes on when you turn the ac on & the other fan should kick on when the car gets to a high temperature 🌡
Which fan comes on first driver's side are passengers side
Passenger side. Hardly the driver's side unless the engine is hot enough
Hello I see you have power steering on your H22 in a 1991 Accord could you tell me what high pressure power steering hose did you use? I saw some where that the stock accord hose will not fit. Thanks
Winston question what mounts did you use for your h22 swap(trans-engine etc...)? Custom ? Original?
Great video man, very clear instructions. My 91 honda accord wagon started overheating today, just about to take it to my mechanics to diagnose. This video will be a great help! Cheers!
same happen to my civic right now..trying to do just u but still not solve.. :-(
Bro what's the name of the two sensors on the hoses front and back
Thermo fan switch and temp sensor
I have the same problem with my civic now I will do the same, this video is very helpful and is the best I have seen
the termamitor u used... what kind is it? is it a typical kitchen one? i called auto zone and they said all they have is an ac one.
What happen when you bypass and the fan still of
Then you have a dead fan motor
Ur video is awesome
Thank you! 😁👍
I love that accord by the way on my car i just trip the conector with a paper clip .
it was obvious from the get go.. if you jumped the sensor you can tell from their. Didn't really need to start the engine and let it overheat again and cause more damage..
+kenneth man True, but I made sure I didn't leave it running for too long. Just wanted to be more thorough for the viewing pleasure of the audience :)
fan kick in faster than Vtec lol
My car has the same problem
Nice troubleshooting
Hi i just did this swap n my car wont start what dizzy did you used plz thanks
I used the dizzy that it came with
hey buddy is that a prelude engine bay or a civic?
91 Accord
hey Winston i have a cb7 i think i talked to you before. i wanna ask you but i am swapping my f22 for a f23 i have it on and in the car mounted and all i have the harness and ecu for the new engine and everything just need to hook it up. i wanna know if you know any problems i may run in to people are telling me im good and others are saying that it wont work what do you think
Freddie Calderon In all honesty, I haven't been able to that kind of swap yet, so I wouldn't be able to help you with that question. Have you asked around cb7tuner.com forums?
thanks man
Duralaaaast
hey winston i want to do a swap on my 96 honda accord it has a f22b2 in it & i wanted to put a h22 in it can you tell me what am i going to need & what i can use thats already on my motor i got now ?
+Daily Broke This is the site I used for a guide...
www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=126672&highlight=motor+swap
It doesn't say say anything about cd5. So would it all be the same?
+Daily Broke If the CD5 is an obd2, then the H23A blue top like mine shouldn't be too much of a difference. However, just to be sure, I would check out other Accord forums to see if they have the swap guide. Sorry if I'm not much of a help on this topic since I have yet to work on your particular Accord
is your cb obd1 still??
#CB7 GARAGE. I had to use an obd1 to obd2a jumper harness
You Winston, is your fuel gauge off? I noticed it was like at an 1/8 of a tank with the key off
No, just low on fuel :)
+Winston Buzon (DubEezy) Nice cb7, my buddy has an automatic 92 we just installed front and rear strut brace. we watch all your videos
+Snoopy That's awesome! Thank you for watching 'em! :D
at what temperature fan kicked ON?
i think its supposed to at 180
call auto zone to tell u at what temperature youre thermostat is for youre vehicle
dude thanks for the vids
Hey Winston nice one question I have a 92 accord coupe I'm doing a swap on the H 23 I was just wondering what Engine harness wire did you use on your Engine can you let me know
I used the original harness but modded it to include wiring for the sensors I needed
What do u call those wires that are attached to the meter to test everything? I ask because I dont know what to search for in order to buy them
Multimeter leads
@@winstonbuzon Thanks so much bro!
@@Mexisio22 no problem 😁👍
