How long do we already have "autopilot" in planes that even can take off and land? And yet there are still 2 people sitting there in front. And I doubt they are there for center of gravity reasons. And, there have been researches done about how a self driving car would have to be equipped regarding the processing power, it is actually pretty insane.
Do you remember the movie Logan? There is a part where he helps that family on the side of the highway. Next to them on the road, self-driving trucks are constantly driving. The self-driving truck was already there. This technology will spread as soon as it becomes available and cheaper, because companies will be able to save huge amounts of money. This will not be the first profession to disappear. Little by little, they are automating everything, from delivery to loading and unloading, to charging the battery, everything.
As long as it’s not Tesla “Self Driving” aka “Human-Seeking Guided Missile”, go for it AI…. Though some companies are indeed quite far along (hint, those companies aren’t Tesla) there’s still a long way to go with things like the ethics of it etc. It will be a while yet so don’t worry too much. If you want to make some money, put options on Tesla would be wise. It’s MASSIVELY overvalued at the moment. Lots of money to be made!!
3 things i want to say . 1. I LOVE trucks , i been in to trucks since i was 5 , i'm 19 now . 2. I have a few friends who drive trucks , light duty and heavy duty ,on highway and off highway , its more than a job , its a career . I want to be part of it some day . 3. No mather what happens in the trucking industry i always did and always will know what a real TRUCK is and its not self driving , a real truck has a truck driver /operator , diesel power for life . AMEN . Real trucks /diesel trucks whit drivers for ever 🤝🍻
With All the truckers that would lose their jobs, im sure a large number of them will apply all their time to learn how to hack those things and drive them off the road 😂
Why can’t there be trucks which can be shifted form autopilot to manual so that if the autopilot malfunctions in the middle of the road, you can drive it
No, they can't. I don't need to watch it to know the answer. What happens when there is a MALFUNCTION? Humans can usually solve non-standart problems, CAN DRIVE with a malfunction (flat tire, stalling engine, maybe other issues), and can navigate non-standart OBSTACLES.
I don’t know about this “advanced sensor” technology. I haven’t seen evidence AI can handle complex traffic problems. Why not just bring back trains. It would be cheaper and more predictable.
And what about all the millions of truckers who would get replaced and loose their jobs?
Nobody cares. This is better for us because we'll get cheaper deliveries
If there's a technology that could replace the punctured truck tire on the road it would be okay.
I had a security guard at a customer I was delivering to thinking I was operating a self driving semi once. It was funny.

no thanks ive seen a film like this doesnt end well
It's funny how people don't like autonomous vehicles, but don't mind autonomous trains
@@automation7295 I guess that people treat rail vehicles and workers differently because they don't run on roads
@@automation7295Anonymous trains? Do you mean Every train? Or only few.
remember maximum overdrive 1986 and trucks 1997?

Same bro I love trucks

We don't even have fully autonomous trains yet. Trucks will most likely always have an operator unless there is a repetitive route or job.
Repetitive route, inside a locked perimeter, maybe, out in normal traffic, extremely doubtful.
Self driving cars don't even operate 100% effectively so a big commercial truck driving itself sounds like a recipe for disaster.
@@bjrnbulhoff499Tesla, waymo, zoox are all self driving vehicles they won't need drivers to supervise in the future
Basically if autonomous trucks are the future then who is supposed to sign the paperwork for pick-ups and drop offs to different warehouses

How do companies think people are going to buy products if nobody has a job
This is totally not making sense. Autonomous can drive 24/7, how should that work with electric drive?
only possible when entire traffic consists of only robots 😂
That is correct, I doubt that computers can foresee stupid human in his Tesla reading the newspaper instead of Look at traffic.
@@bjrnbulhoff499waymo and zoox don't have human drivers
Volvo and Scania.. Those are trucks you going to talk about
There is only one real truck, Scania, all others are still trying to figure out how to build them. 😁
Hope not but with Technics is possible
Dedicated Truck Roads or Lanes for starters....

Never going happen mate. Don't be so fearful of everything

❤😂🎉
It is already happening, but humans are more cheaper for now.

Who's gonna chain it up when it gets slick?
i don't think it's gonna be great also there's 2 movies that some trucks come to life like maximum overdrive 1986 and trucks 1997.
Self driving Vehicles are stupid the future is more freight will be moved by rail.
at least they're not good as trucks from maximum overdrive 1986 and trucks 1997 films
just a waste of money
Never going to happen.
