The lyrics of this song are an example of how well written all of their songs are. It is one reason they are one of my favorite bands. The Rev was surprisingly introspective and serious. His outward persona was almost opposite of that. I think a lot of people are like this, which is one reason this band is so popular and has such a great fan base. Along with the killer music of course.

This song broke all of us when Jimmy passed. Knowing he wrote the majority, foretelling his own future, their own future, everyone's really? It was devastating. It's still a hard song to listen to for me, but I never skip it. It's by far my favorite. I had been waiting foREVer it feels like to see you're reaction to it. This song did to you exactly what's it's meant to do, make you think. We have to seize the day because of just that, we don't know. I honestly felt bad seeing how emotional you were getting, but that's a great thing. It shows you have a loving, caring soul. I had the honor and privilege to share some drinks with them in March of the year that Rev passed in December. I can't speak for them, especially him, but I guarantee they all love the fact you feel the way you do. After Rev passed they did a tribute song for him called Saint James. It's a celebration of his life really, and I'm sure we'd all like to see youre reaction to that. Definitely put that on your to do list.

I love how the solo conveys all of the same emotions that the lyrics do. You can feel all the pain in every bend
This live version just hits so much harder than the studio version, you can feel it more with their impromptu additions that you only get live. Great reaction and love to hear how their music affects others. The older I get the more and more this song hits home. Check out Time by Pink Floyd, that’ll give you an existential crisis as well
It's always fun to watch what people think when the listen to some of my favorite songs. In my opinion that's kind of a way to experience a song in a whole different way.

You need to see the official music video. The last part of this song is the best part for me.
I usually get really emotional when I listen to some songs like that, but when I watched your react, I get into a new feeling about this song. It's like when you relate to someone that give the same value for something than you.
In the music video for this song, which is just as emotionally impacting as the message of the song is, Matt didn't want to have any actress play his spouse in the video. He wanted his actual spouse to be in the video. He wanted the most real and raw emotions for the emotional reactions in that video and it really impacted us as an audience who watched the music video for this song.
Having a friend group that used to be super into A7X back in high school this song brings back so many memories.
Considering that was all some 14 or so years ago now and I'm almost 30 now this song hits so much harder than it used to.
This was one of the first songs I ever learned how to play on the electric guitar. I was a huge fan of the solo from Syn. I learned to play it about 12 years ago and it remains one of my top favorite songs to play. That said, the lyrics have always had a deep impact for me and especially now in my life really hit the feels. Thank you for doing this song and band such justice and showing real emotion, not just YT likes.

I feel like one of the most if not the most powerful lyrics that i find in this song is one of the opening lines. “I found you here, now please just stay for a while, i can move on with you around.” I can relate this to a lot of things. Whether it be living or nonliving. Idk, just a very powerful lyric.

3:22 is spot on. This song and so far away are my childhood and i love them so much. The bitter part is that my friend who showed me a7x is dead and i always get goosebumps and that sort of bitter sweet feeling when i listen.

It’s good to see reactions with emotion. I see so many singer reaction videos where they seem to focus only about how the vocals sound and not the message. Not the emotion of the song. So sometimes they go “ oh. Well it isn’t my style so it was bad “ you’re one of my new favorite reaction channels. I’ve seen avenged 14 times live and they never disappoint. I was fortunate enough to see them a few times before revs passing. The whole band are the biggest sweethearts you’ll ever meet

Man I remember waiting up until 3am on school night back in 2006 for this video to drop on their MySpace page and then watching it 50 times in a row. I cried my eyes out at the music video, and felt like I was somehow special because I knew the woman who played Matt's wife in the music video was his partner in real life.
I tattooed 'Seize The Day' on my leg when I was 16 after this song haha. Good times thinking back, I was so obsessed with this band for so long. I think I technically have 3 tattoos, 2 I scratched on myself with a cheap Ebay tattoo gun thinking I was cool, and one professionally done as part of my sleeve when I was old enough to go to an actual tattoo shop.
All that said, hearing The Rev sing parts of this gives me goosebumps all the way down to my soul. Fuck, I miss that dudes talent and his voice.
I'd recommend watching the actual music video for this too, the track itself is a bit clearer, especially the acoustic guitar focus and the vocals are much better.

So what if I never hold youuuuu YEEEEAAAAAAAH! ….. gets me every time and as a die hard A7x fan I love that you couldn’t resist either. I play this song sometimes when I just need to let go, because that’s what this song is. Them just letting go and admitting that part of our experience is not knowing. But using it as an excuse to cherish life and love it for it’s as you say”bittersweetness” instead of choosing nihilism.
