The backing vocals in this whole concert is great. When they lost the Rev , not only did they lose a drummer but his voice blend in the vocals was so prevalent within all their music and really gave them a unique sound and also his trading out lead vocals on some of the songs also. He was such a big part of them for sure , more so than just a great drummer .
i disagree on one point. Sure Rev's backing vocals were important but it's more the fact that he was an amazing drummer and he helped compose many of the songs from City of Evil and "Avenged Sevenfold"... They could do with another backing vocalist. When nightmare came out came out i was like , thats it AX7 are done.... its not the same anymore :S

Song CRITICAL ACCLAIM is the first song they started off...this was in Long Beach California, I went on this tour called TASTE OF CHAOS 2 days before this show in Arizona on April 8, 2008 i still have this tour ticket...i remember Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, BlessTheFall, and another metal band from Tokyo in a row opening for this tour. CRITICAL ACCLAIM was the best song to start out with. i will never forget this tour/night. Every band was in their prime in 2008

Love the reaction, love the band, but the chorus in this particular song makes me laugh everytime I hear it. The lyrics do not fit the music. It's sounds more like a chorus for a children's TV show theme.

This was actually a few songs in. They kept that energy pretty much the whole time.
Avenged Sevenfold and Dream Theater keep the old school vibe alive, especially the guitar solos post 1980s.
