One small thing I absolutely love about this song is that on the demo, Jimmy sings the line "I may be out of my mind" and that in the studio Shadows changed it to "He may be out of his mind" it's such a small thing but it makes me happy the acknowledgement of The Rev in that line.
M. Shadows will never get the credit he deserves with his voice. I think the reason why a lot of metalheads don’t like his voice because he does something completely different that no one can figure out. He’s able to change his styles so fast! Every album is arguably so different with his voice, that you won’t even tell it’s the same singer. 😏
No.. They probably wouldn't.. They would probably be surprised by his voices evolution, sure, but they wouldn't be like "THAT'S THE SAME GUY?!?!" You can very obviously tell it's the same person, because he still has that nasally tonality that is uniquely his.
@@passingawayThe problem was that he did not have an adequate technique to sing the way he sing, so it took him to the point of almost losing his voice and having to have surgery due to an infection that had been caused by his poor technique. So after that surgery he said that he practically had to learn to sing from scratch, he is still recovering from that surgery but improvements are already being seen in his voice, and it is becoming more and more recognizable

Kinda nailed the meaning of the song it’s their raw emotions on loosing the rev “tonight we all die young” meaning a piece of them died with the rev “ever since the day you left my fates been set unknown” the fate of the band and how they move forward without the rev and how he was a huge part of the band. This is a top 5 A7X song

One of my all time favourite. This song was on repeat in my head throughout my teenage years and a lot of their songs pushed me through those rough years, as I was still developing. My uncle passed away in a car accident during that time and this song resonated with me to my core for years.

Denial -involves shock or confusion and they are trying to ask questions to god as to why he was taken away from them and if it was their fault 2. Anger - Syn’s solo and Matt’s screaming really show that the band is quite angry with the world and god about losing their best friend 3. Bargaining - They are trying to find meaning. “Ever since the day you left, my fate’s been set unknown” 4. Depression - Its honestly the whole song start to end. They are incredibly saddened by this and the tone of the song matches it perfectly. 5. Acceptance- I feel the last part of the song is them acknowledging that he has passed away and they realize a part of the band will forever be gone with his passing. Heard this song live last year at Nova Rock and let me tell you it was one awesome night. Loved that they played songs that are rarely in their setlist.
As per this whole comment section, this is by far my favorite Avenged Sevenfold song and one of if not my actual favorite song in general. Everything about it just fits so well with the heartbreaking lyrics and the anguish of the grief they were going through at the time. It's perfect, that's it.

They ended the album with Fiction, Jimmy’s last song, and then Save Me, their last song made for him. The end of the song is what the Rev wanted the chorus to be originally as well, but instead they gave it its own section
Save Me was one of Jimmy’s last contributions he turned in before he passed. The lyrics, the arrangements and some of the instrumentation had to be changed according to the newest Trax episode.
