The sign of a good band, at least in my opinion, is when their music is able to paint a picture in your brain as you listen to them. A7X does that consistently. Great reaction.
I agree, I also love the Variety of Avenged Sevenfold you never know when a new album comes out what it'll be even the genre changes you got the Metalcore in the early years, to whatever City of Evil is, to the Classic 80s Metal tribute of Hail To The King, to the Prog of The Stage, to that even more experimental/Daft Punk/ I don't even knew what of Life Is But A Dream Then even the albums themselves are full of variety like this Self Titled one going straight from A Little Piece Of Heaven into Dear God I love bands that aren't afraid to try something new no matter if it'll be divisive or not but then still keeping a sound that you can still tell it's them
I'm a fan of technical death metal with crazy speed screams and growls. but m.shadows is the best metal singer imo and his scream is the reason why i like a7x.
He definitely deserves a tonne of respect, but I can also see why so many people are turned out by his super nasally singing period just after this album released. His voice was fucked and he went far too much into the nasal singing to compensate. I adore the band, have their logo tattood on my arm 18 years ago, but I can't watch live videos from around 2010 onwards because his voice sucks.
Nasally vocals really aren't for everyone. They were my favorite band in the world during Waking The Fallen and City of Evil but Matt has always BY FAR been the weak link in the band. I can't stand these exaggerated radio dad rock vocals.
If your up for somewhat of a marathon of a song I cant recommend Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold more. It encapsulates everything that is good about the band and puts it all in a 11 minute song
I am an immigrant from Iraq, I am a huge Avenged 7 folds fan. I worked as a translator for the US army in Iraq, this song and M.I.A especially bring back my memories with the army in Iraq. When we went out on missions and patrols, our gunner in the humvee used to play those songs, he had an iPod and he taped the earphones right by the mic on his headset so we all in the humvee can listen and we still could hear everything else around us. Good times !. And this is how I was introduced to Avenged 7 folds.
I am a diehard A7X fan, and this IMHO is their best album. It is SO FULL of emotion, you can really hear it in the songwriting and in Matt's voice. This and Brompton Cocktail are my absolute favourites. Please react to more songs from their Self-Titled! Edit: I highly recommend watching the 'Making Of' for this album, its all on RUclips and you get an amazing insight into all the extra instrumentation on this album, like the choirs, orchestral elements and so on.
You must watch Gunslinger live in Jakarta. All the people sing along with Matt on this part. People in Indonesia very very love this part. "I've always been true I've waited so long just to come hold you I'm making it through It's been far too long, we've proven our love over time's so strong, in all that we do The stars in the night, they lend me their light to bring me closer to heaven with you"
The layers "my prayers have made it through yeah" is fill by the Rev. And there is also a video of "making gunslinger" you can see also female singer fill the part when about guitar solo begin.
"This is so sof-OH" Pretty much the vibe of thsi whole album. What a fucking amazing album. Shame we had to lose The Rev to get it, but gawDAMN you find yourself at your lowest and darkest point.
That part you liked when we hear another voice in the background shines waaayyy more live (LBC) because we hear The Rev better !! We hear him a lot in Critical Acclaim and A Little Piece Of Heaven and a bit in Afterlive (both were also played in the LBC show) (throughout the whole white album) In Fiction too if you wan't to cry !
The layers you’re hearing in the upper vocal range is the Rev that was their drummer before he passed. Who was also responsible for many of their songs and their entire sound and vibe in general…. RIP✌️ ❤️😅
I recommend the following for his vocals Tonight the world dies (nightmare album) God hates us(nightmare album) Unbound the wild ride(self titled album) He has great vocals in all of their songs but there are some of his nice moments that I think you’ll appreciate
That woman's voice is The Rev's backing vocals as far as i know... the whole song is just great and it somewhat represents patriotism.. Great reaction tho
Heretic , This means war , shepherd of fire , the stage , unbound , acid rain , doing time , I won’t see u tonight part 1 , the fight , demons , sidewinder , dancing dead Listen to them + floods by pantera and voice of the soul by death
@@jameslrofficial That's M.Shadows' voice from the recording studio, it's clearly distorted and full of grit...is your hearing problem, bro? all the vocals on the recording are mostly filled by m.shadows' voice... maybe some are filled by other people and even if the second vocal is filled by someone else then the difference will be very clear to the ear between m.shadows' voice and that person's voice
@Rayactions you should hear A Little Piece of Heaven, Afterlife, Fiction, Brompton Cocktail, Critical Acclaim, Crossroads, Lost, Scream, Chapter Four, Almost Easy, Seize the Day, Save Me, and also the demo version of Nightmare and Eternal Rest to become introduced to the drummer...The Rev Sullivan...those songs are some of the best in my personal opinion

The woman's additional voice before the solo is Shanna Crooks, you can see her in the making of the album, The Rev's vocals was in the second layer
Yes and no. The voice before the solo is an actual woman. The layered vocals are Rev’s.

Yeah, you've been alone
I've been gone for far too long
But with all that we've been through
After all this time I'm coming home to you
Never let it show
The pain I've grown to know
'Cause with all these things we do
It don't matter when I'm coming home to you
I reach towards the sky I've said my goodbyes
My heart's always with you now
I won't question why so many have died
My prayers have made it through yeah
'Cause with all these things we do
It don't matter when I'm coming home to you
Letters keep me warm
Helped me through the storm
But with all that we've been through
After all this time I'm coming home to you
I reach towards the sky I've said my goodbyes
My heart's always with you now
