I enjoy your content. I also built a camperette for my Tacoma. All salvaged appliances and kitchen counter/cabinet come from a torn down tent trailer. Wood frame, dense 1.5 inch foam with aluminium skin all around so heavier ~ (600 lbs) than yours will be. Still easy on gas with the low sit down profile. 17 mpg. Traveled 25K miles with it so far including winter outings. I may decide to get a second truck soon as loading and unloading is a 1 hour job each time. I look forward to watch your first trip.
Excellent content and the video quality was great! I especially liked your external mic because the audio was higher volume. The camper is looking terrific! Thanks for explaining things so well, too! I enjoy your channel very much!
The new video looks grainy to me. Could just be my connection. I really appreciate the dedication to documenting this build. I hope you get to 1000 subs soon. Thanks
I can't comment on the camera work... it is not my forte. 😁 However a couple of tips on the technical end. I usually cut the curved end off of the tongue depressors for a flat end. It makes it better to scrape the bottom of the container while mixing. As for filler if you are willing to trade cost for weight savings Poly-fiber Superfil is a great product however a bit pricey at $42/quart. If you can see the weave of the fiberglass then it is usually because you squeegeed a bit too much epoxy off while laying up. Hand sanding using a block sander could prevent a lot of the swirlies in your finish. Your spray painting technique looks right on. Keep up the great work. Hope you get your 1000 subs and more..
Hey Jim! Thanks for always coming through with some great tips. I used your foam roller method to wet out the panels before fairing with micro, works a treat! I'll add the squared off lounge depressor to the memory bank, that will come in handy. Luckily I'm past all the fairing on this project, but ill give the Poly-Fiber Superfill a look for future projects. Theres some weight I could cut in other areas to make the added weight a non issue.
Its my fault for being cheap. That can of filler had been opened over a year ago and improperly stored in cold temperatures. Current prices are about $180-$200 per gallon so I'll accept a little trash in the bottom. Thanks for watching!
6 orrr ahhh 8? It's been a while. Next build I won't be so afraid of having seams and that will make for better better use of the materials. Seams in the foam are easily boded using epoxy thickened with glass balloons.
The entirety of my fiberglass experience is showcased on this channel. That being said Im a skilled craftsman in many disciplines, and I find that a lot of skills cross over. Thanks for watching!
Looking good! Can't wait to see the color go on.
You and me both! Thanks for watching Mike!
Latest video looked great man. Can't wait to see the color on that thing!
You are in luck, final paint video goes live later today!
Excellent video 👍🏻
Thanks Wade!
MUY bueno ...wood pick up camper....
I have really enjoyed your channel. Super like this build. You are a great creator and craftsman. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much Brian! I hope to continue growing my film skills, and to build cool things. More to come!
👍 Just found your channel - love it. It's good to see your production values improving and the camper is super impressive.
Thanks for watching Roger!

Thanks Marc, Sounds like you have an awesome rig! 25k miles of adventure sounds way better than all the sanding I've been doing. Hopefully soon!

Awesome, thank you for your support Terry!
External mic would be a very nice upgrade. I'm enjoying the ride of this build, I can't wait to see the finished product. Good work!
Hey Curtis! This episode as well as the last few are shot with an external mic. Thanks for watching!
It's really coming together nicely 👍
Thanks man! Out in the shop as we speak. Filling and sanding, filling and sanding!
The new video looks grainy to me. Could just be my connection. I really appreciate the dedication to documenting this build. I hope you get to 1000 subs soon. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Graininess could be due to high iso settings, I'll do some testing to get it dialed in. More to come!
Looking awesome 😎
Thanks Patrick!

That's a bummer that the end of that can had all that trash in it! Should have a warning label on it that says do not use last bit of filler

How many 4x8 sheets of foam did you use for the whole project?

How many years of fiberglass experience do you have?
The entirety of my fiberglass experience is showcased on this channel. That being said Im a skilled craftsman in many disciplines, and I find that a lot of skills cross over. Thanks for watching!
@@ThatJakeWorldWide WOW, I would never have guessed that this is the only fiberglass experience you have. It looks like a real professional job.
Thank you! Im looking forward to more fiberglass projects in the future, I've learned a lot throughout this build.
Where are you located, how much to build me one?
Drink a few beers, and she'll start looking better...
The solvent fumes give a similar effect!
Way to.much hardner
Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.
You're an awfully fast worker!
Thanks LES! If only I moved as fast as the time-lapse footage in real life!
