In this video, I show some rocks that I polished using my Hitech 8" flat lap.I show some datolite I collected. As well as some malawi agates I purchased. I did not show the polishing process. There are a few channels I recommend for learning how to polish using a flat lap. Rockhounding Life, Rufotris Rooted Rockhound, and Puliendo Piedras De Costa Rica are all good channels to help show you how to use a flat lap and develop a technique for polishing. Thanks for watching! :)
The rounded polish on those two Malawis is so awesome, I love it! I love all of em, great job, I’m trying to learn to polish myself, I’m so envious of your flat lap! ❤

Hi, Jeff! Datolite nodules are only found in Michigan's U.P. But, the crystal form is found in other locations. Datolite is my favorite mineral. Most of the mines that the datolite nodules were found are all closed. So it's not that easy to come across. Most of it now comes from old collections. But, there is one mine still open that offers visitors a chance to collect some for a fee. Which, is where I got my smaller pink pieces. Thanks for watching 🙂
