Vanilla extract gives cookies more depth generally anyways, just don’t add more than 1/2 a teaspoon for recipes you haven’t tried modifying before.
I make the cookies tonight following the steps you demonstrated. They come out beautifully, not too hard not too soft. I used 10 minutes and got 40 lightly browned cookies out of the recipe. I made them for my students as a treat. You know how strictly the school food policy is - with so many kids having food allergies nowadays, it’s hard to bring treats with safe ingredients and the kids like it at the same time. @TheKeerbear. Hello! Thank you so much for trying the recipe. I am truly delighted that you made them work with the substitution of gluten free flour.😊
I've made this recipe over like 10 times already. I gave it to my family they say it's the best. Also your the best for making this recipe. Thank you stellar job!
Honestly one of the best baking tutorials i've ever watched. Everything about it felt really smooth and succinct/straight to the point. I also love the choice of music!! Take my like :)
Hello! @Aquaticproducts. Normally with 2 and ¾ cups of flour (in this recipe), cookie dough should not be overly wet or sticky. However, if it’s too wet, you can either chill it longer (more than an hour) or add more flour. If you use the latter technique, try adding 1 tablespoon of flour at a time and mix until combine. You do not want to add too much, as you’ll end up with crumbly and dry cookies that don’t spread. Hope this helps.😊
I just made these for thanksgiving and the family loved them, so I wanted to say thanks. This was actually my first time making homemade cookies, so I was impressed that they came out so good. All I can say is that I followed the directions exactly and used the correct ingredients. I think I'm going to get into cooking baking as a hobby, this was a lot of fun. Thanks again!
These are really easy to make. according to a ten year old girl i never Tasted any cookie like that! SOOOOOOO yummy :) ty so much for the amazing recipie.
I just tried this recipe. It's perfect. It's exactly what a sugar cookie should be. Crisp on the outside and chewy in the middle. Outstanding flavor, just add about a teaspoon of good vanilla extract. I also rolled a few in cinnamon sugar and it makes a dandy snickerdoodle. If anyone out there is wondering if this recipe is any good, take it from me, you won't go wrong with this one. Thank you for posting it.
The cookies came out great! I added 1 tsp salt, and about 2 1/2 tsp vanilla.I rolled then in a sugar cinnamon blend and made Snickerdoodles. The rest I made without the sugar, and cinnamon mixture, and pressed an almond in the middle! Delish...great recipie!😋
Turned out great! Added a tsp of almond extract for my own preference - furthermore your recipe is actually so much faster and easier than the one I’d been using for years. Thanks! 🍪
Made these tonight for the first time. Followed the recipe to the T with one exception. I used two medium eggs instead of one large. Because that’s all I had. These are the best sugar cookies I ever ate. My kid loves them. Also have never baked sugar cookies before. This person has made this video very well. Ty for sharing.
Hello @Florida Jam! I am so happy to hear this😊. Thank you so much for trying the recipe and for letting me know how the cookies turned out for you. As for the eggs, if one large egg is unavailable, two small eggs would work perfectly fine as well. Happy holidays!🎄
I am 10 years old and I have this attach mint to baking and my family loves it so much it was my sister favorite desert she even asked for me to make it for her class it is so good 😋😋
I recently made these. I added a dash of vanilla extract, and I had to use a spoon to push down on the cookies midway through baking and added a little bit of cinnamon. Otherwise they turned out pretty good.
I adjusted the recipe a slight bit to fit my taste. (If you're interested in trying it ...) The cooking time is perfect at exactly 11 minutes. I use bread flour instead of all purpose and I only add 2 1/2 cups of that flour instead of 2 3/4. It had a powder like taste to it, I didn't like with the extra 1/4 cup (all purpose and bread). I added one tsp of vanilla extract to give a touch more flavor and I don't roll them in sugar. I don't like the granulated feel and it doesn't hurt to leave out a little sugar for something already pretty sweet. Anyways, I didn't have a go to Sugar cookie recipe, with a couple tweaks it's perfect. Thanks for posting it, I really appreciate it!
I made them! My fam just ate them ❤️ If a cup of butter is too much, apple sauce can be used as a substitute, however when baking you must flatten cookies (less butter, less slippery/oily). This is also good because this recipe has more dry than wet, so applesauce will help with the mixing.
Thanks for the great tip! I apologize for the incomplete ingredients list in the description box. I already updated it. Again, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I appreciate it.

My family really enjoyed these, and so did I. It tasted amazingly! Mine had a more smooth surface for some reason. Maybe because the consistancy was different. I used slightly more flour, and didnt roll them in suger at the end.
Thank you so much for trying out the recipe. I am so glad that you and your family liked it. The smooth surface (without cracks) probably due to using extra flour. It will result to cookies that barely spreads when baked and a bit dense at the center.
Great recipe and wonderful texture! My personal changes were adding a tsp of salt, a tsp of vanilla extract, and half teaspoon of molasses. Don't skip on the baking soda! It's what makes the cookies crinkle! 😊

Definitely saving this video! You can change what sugar you're using (all white, dark brown, a mix of white and light brown, etc.) and even add salt (I tried it with salted butter) and they're all turn out great (albeit with different taste & texture). Oh, and I did end up changing how long to cook them based on when the dough starts cracking. Seems to be easier to guage when its done, considering everyone's oven is different even when set at 350°F
