- My First Insta 360 X3 camera Edit; I love what this camera can do.
I'm looking forward to trying my new Insta 360 X3 camera out on the trails, but in the meantime, I had to drop the van at the garage so I took the opportunity to try it out on the ride home along the canal in the sun. This stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal, through Newbury, is usually fairly busy, but it was fairly early, quiet and peaceful. I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the footage, but definitely made some mistakes in the set-up and my understanding. I know know what "stitching" is, and have worked out the settings I need to change so that this shouldn't be a problem in future.
I'm pretty new to videos, and editing, and I didn't know anything about 360 camera's, but I do love the effects and angles that they can produce, and the versatility.

Nice. Love the downward view when you're crossing the bridge. With regard to the rotation direction, the camera will follow the same rotation you do in the software (clockwise or anti). So if you start facing forward, rotate it 360 deg back to forwards again. the software will still do the same loop in the video even though it still ends up the same direction. You have to be careful with your mouse or finger to only move it the exact way you want the video. 🙂
Thanks so much G 🙌 I'm new to keyframes too, and I think the bit that wouldn't behave was a bit I'd gone back to and added something else. It all got too much so I let it go 🤣 I know to be more careful next time 💪💥

Also, If you know you want a section only facing one direction with no rotations, set it on single lens for that bit. Quality will end up much better.
I'm hoping to have a proper play with this at the weekend; it's definitely going to keep me busy 😁🤣
