- Join me as we conquer the beautififul, scenic Brecon Beacons Gap for the first time on Mountain Bikes!
This breathtaking historic route, known as 'The Gap,' was an essential merchant road that connected the bustling markets of South Wales to the market town of Brecon. With roots dating back centuries, it has witnessed countless traders and travellers passing through its challenging terrain.
As we navigated the rocky and exhilarating path, I couldn't help but marvel at the rugged landscapes and breathtaking views; a must-ride destination for any MTB adventurer.
I was faced with a unique challenge during this ride. I use an Insta 360 X3 camera with plastic lens protectors, which, I must admit, didn't quite live up to expectations in terms of image quality. I'll be removing these for my next adventure, and my next video promises to deliver crystal-clear visuals that truly do justice to the beauty of the Brecon Beacons Gap.
Stay tuned for my upcoming videos, where I'll explore more awe-inspiring trails and share my outdoor adventures. Don't forget to hit that like button, subscribe, and ring the notification bell so you won't miss out on the action. Thanks for joining me on this incredible journey, and I can't wait to show you what's next!

Great video. It's great to see you out smiling x that decent from the Gap is horrendous 😢 I go up to the diving board and go around the edge xx
Ah thank you so much 🙌 Yep it looked pretty brutal; maybe next time! 😁
That's awesome Laura. I did the same route a few years ago and it was lovely. I often walked that route up to Pen Y Fan and Cor Du. The ascent is tough but the decent is lush.
Thank you Tom, I will definitely be doing more of these rides in the near future. Since beautiful scenery there 🙌
Hi Laura great video awesome views
Thank you Paul 💪🙌
Nicely done. I was there early last year, but didn't give that decent a go.
Thanks G 😎 One of the longest descents I've done for a while, if not *the* longest 😁 So much fun and the views were spectacular 🙌
That looks ace, good on ya ❤👊💥
Thank You Darcy! 💪 Missing you 🙌

Ha ha thank you for watching JJ 💪🤣 You never know when you'll get a shout out, but pretty much at every Welsh sign 😎
It's not a lake it's a reservoir !!
You’ve made me want a Mountain bike. Can you please advise on a bike 😊
Yes!! Thank you so much. I love my Nukeproof Megawatt, but I started on a Vitus hardtail. They are great bikes, and great value. Something like this would be perfect tidd.ly/3SrRzzd Let me know how you get on!
@@MTBLaura thank you Laura
That’s not Brecon it’s Tal-y-Bont
Haha you're right; my guide misinformed me 😂 What an amazing place though 🙌
Hi laura,is that brecon beacons bike hub?
Not talibont?
Want to do the gap soon, just want to get my directions correct as im coming up fom south coast at end of the month,i want to do this, and some afan trails.
Any idea of the mileage from start to finish?
Bike hub and back?
I believe it's the Brecon Beacons Cycle Hub in Talybont? Google maps has it listed as Talybont Bike Hub. We did 25 ish miles, but the last 10 was quite roady/canal (very nice pub stop on the water 😁) I'm not sure how easy it would be to get from the end of the Gap descent back to the start, but I bet its not difficult 😎
